The location
The property owner switched the reservation the day we arrived. We were told that the original reservation was not available due to an A/C failure. We were left with the unfortunate proposition of lodging at an alternate property owned by the same individuals. This property, The Club at Brickell Bay, was outdated and unkept. There were bugs in the unit and the linens and shower curtain needed replacing.

I stayed for 3 nights and was only given one set of face towels. I also called / texted the manager/staff the whole Friday evening when I arrived and no one responded. Later that night I finally got a text from the manager telling me to wash the towels. SMH , I didn’t come on vacation to wash. I was forced to buy towels from the hotel next day

The room within itself was great, beautiful view and very spacious. The beds were comfy and the area it was in was really nice.
The check in process was a nightmare. Had to wait almost an hour once we got there to get into our room. Once we did get there they had given us the wrong code for the door so that took another 15 mins. Lastly we were not given an elevator key until our 2nd day and we had to ask the front desk to ring us up everytime. Very very inconvenient.

the fact that I paid for a certain standard I feel I did not receive. It made me feel like i was treated like as if I was getting done a favor by staying there.

the location was amazing and check in was pretty cool
it was listed as a two bedroom. but the second bedroom seemed more like an office area with a bed in it. which was ok I guess, but there wasn’t a TV or a dresser in there. The carpet was torn in some areas. The doors were dirty. specifically the bathroom doors. knobs were missing from the closet door. paint on the wall was bubbled. cigarette stains (could have been something else) were on the couch. the bliss were standing in a corner in the master bedroom, which kinda sucked bc the day light woke me up at 7am. and brown towels. you can’t really tell if they were clean

I did not like anything except the location. The listing on booking.com was not accurate. I had a decent view of the swimming pool. The room was a large size.
When I arrived I learned that I had to wait for a man to come and sign me into the property. There was a lot of activity in the lobby that made me uncomfortable. When I entered the room it reeked heavily of cigarette smoke, even though the unit is listed as non-smoking. The wallpaper was peeling. The place was disgusting and I did not feel comfortable taking off my shoes or sitting down. The door transition strips were missing and were replaced with duct tape. The carpet was gross. The seats at the dining room table were mismatched. The curtains were stained and ripped. The walls had holes in them that were patched up but not repainted. The wall art, if that's what you would call it, was broken and damaged. The towels smelled stale. I had to sit on the patio because the smell of smoke gave me such a bad headache. I was never given a key fob to get on the elevator and the batteries on the back of the keyless entry pad were taped in and often would come loose. I texted the owner about my concerns and he stopped replying. He did send a cleaning crew who stated that she made him aware of these issues. I called booking.com and they simply called the owner who refused to refund and cancel my reservation so I was unable to obtain other accommodations. It was a horrible experience and I will never use booking.com again. The unit looks NOTHING like the pictures posted and they even photoshopped the view from the windows. When I called booking.com back the second time, I was waiting for an agent for 1 hour and 36 minutes and until the phone disconnected. I truly believe they kept me in a loop because my issue as was already documented with my phone number in their system.

I liked the location.
I didn’t like the fact that we had no host to communicate every time I needed something or had a problem there was no one to call. There was no cold water during the whole stay of 6 days I called my host and they said someone was coming no one ever came. The water was burning hot. No cleaning supplies I had to go buy toilet paper all of that. The stay here was horrible and I have no one to communicate to.

Very dirty, cleaners were still there when we checked in. Ants by the bed. Boogers on the couch and walls. Very poorly managed.

I arrived to a FILTHY apartment, cleaning was not before arrival, the owner gave me another apartment for that night but the place wasn't better. Then I had no wifi my entire stay and the owner was not responsive. Place is overrated!
Better communication, being more responsive, actually resolving issues.
