Wonderful property with a breath take view. House was very comfortable for 6 people. Site described well the properties.

Very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend

Our group of 3 couples enjoyed our stay and had plenty of room, all of the amenities we needed. The drive to Timberline was simple. If I had any suggestion for the property it would be a bigger hot tub for a house of this size, our group couldn't enjoy it together at the same time. Thanks for a great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and cozy. The hot tub was a perfect way to relax after hiking, the stars when it was a clear night were amazing. The property is conveniently located close to the state parks. Great view of the fall foliage from the balconies and common spaces! Only drawback was that we didn’t realize the upstairs room was a loft style that is open to the common space below, we were thankful we brought our sound machines to not bother the baby, but would have been nice to know that ahead of time. We would stay here again!

Everything was nice but the bedsheets smelled musty and the wifi was out the entire time

Lovely views, well equipped, hot tub that works!
4.6
It was a lovely location, view and hot tub was fantastic and communication with the property manager was very quick and efficient which made it worth the 6 hour trip there and stay.
I would say though that the listing didn’t say anything about a third section of the house up a tiny ladder which is located directly above the stairs so if someone falls on/off the ladder, they’re going to continue to fall down the next set of stairs to get to the third floor of the home. My kids are old enough and stayed safe climbing up and down but if you have younger curious kids, I could see how this would difficult to manage and cause some anxiety. I found a dead cockroach in the upstairs bathroom, dead moth in the bedroom, some of the windows wouldn’t open even tho they had screens. The blinds fell out of the window when I was just adjusting them which I was able to fix but again…this could have hurt someone if they weren’t paying attention, housecleaning also left dirty dusting rag on the upstairs bed.

Property was clean, with all furnishings/appliances/utensils needed. Local hiking is awesome, we will return to the area for more time in the woods.

This property is clean, well-furnished and located in a great spot. The views are stunning. Everything worked great and check-in was a breeze. I highly recommend.

The house was immaculately clean and everything was in working order. View was incredible! Short drive to the slopes. I would definitely stay here again.
4.6
The property was incredible, the view was breathtaking. Had more than we needed! Fully equipped with all necessities. We did so much traveling and sight seeing. Incredible stay, incredible places, so much to do we stayed so busy the entire time, beds were comfortable, even on the coldest night we still laid in the hot tub looking at the stars with snow coming down. Would recommend over and over. Loved our stay and it was absolutely needed! Thank you for a wonderful, cozy, and welcoming place to stay.

Nicely designed style of cabin. Great view of the mountains from the front porch and hot tub.
Only downside ( more of just an annoyance) was getting in and out of driveway due to the angle to the main road with the steepness of the driveway itself.
4.6
Great rental! Beautiful views, house has everything we needed, would definitely rent again!
House was even better than expected, had absolutely everything needed, clean, close to amazing hiking trails, amazing views and overall wonderful experience! Hot tub was a fantastic bonus at night! Would definitely recommend and rent again!

Our honeymoon
Beautiful house and property. Disappointed the fireplace didn’t work. Bathrooms and bedrooms clean. Windows need to be washed and a lot of dust throughout the house. The house was nicely stocked with kitchen items, towels, laundry detergent, stuff like that. We definitely had a wonderful time. Annette Smith

This property is located in a great location, just minutes away from Canaan Valley Resort, Timberline, as well as Blackwater Falls State Park. The view from the living room and balconies is unparalleled. The hot tub was also spectacular for enjoying the views. The property was spacious and the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to cook meals with the food we brought. Our only complaint about the cabin is that it was very dusty inside when we arrived.

Great Views & Convenient Location
Heck of a view, especially from the deck and hot tub. Location is great - only 10 min to Davis/Thomas and about 20 min to the ski resorts or various hiking trailheads.
In terms of the house, everything was clean upon arrival. Cable and wifi were a nice treat to catch the weekend's football games. The grill had charcoal included which was also appreciated.
Rental agency was responsive to questions ahead of and during our trip.

The location of the cabin is superb- 3 miles from Canaan and around 6 from Davis, so stores and restaurants were easily accessible. The kitchen is nicely updated and stocked with everything you may need. The bathroom vanities also are updated, but the remainder of the cabin is a bit dated. It had a late 80’s/early 90’s vibe. That part really didn’t matter to us though, since there was plenty of room for us to spread out.
The views are beautiful looking over the valley and ski slopes on the opposite mountain. The hot tub is on the back deck to enjoy the beautiful views.
Now let’s talk about the not so great things. The first is the cleanliness, or lack thereof that we experienced. There was some sort of liquid splashed on the main floor bathroom wall and window sill and a few other places in the cabin as well. A half eaten tortilla chip behind the TV in the living room. There were cigarette butts all over the decks. The towels were also in the dryer for us to fold and put away. Guests have to not only wash but dry towels before checking out. I just hope that is really happening and they aren’t just being thrown in the dryer dirty. Only the sheets were supposed to be stripped at checkout which makes me wonder how often the bedspreads and shams are laundered by the linen service mentioned in the agreement? The rental agreement states that cabins may not be ready for 4pm check-in due to “additional COVID cleaning”, but that was not evident.
Lastly, the downstairs queen bed needs burned. I travel often and it was by far the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever encountered. Whoever you dislike most in your family should have the displeasure of sleeping in that bed. It was so bad I thought it might be the box spring. That bed is the worst part of the cabin for sure.

Our overall impression of this property was excellent. The views were amazing (early fall) and the house was well stocked with about anything you might need in a kitchen and outdoors. While we brought our own charcoal and logs, there was a supply already there. The house is well-maintained. There was a large flat-screen tv in main living area, and smaller ones in the two larger bedrooms. It was very clean and we felt safe (COVID-19), although as a precaution, we used Clorox wipes to wipe down the high-touch areas upon arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the lower deck enjoying the sunshine during the afternoons and watching the stars at night. The area is very quiet and peaceful. A note: the upstairs bedrooms get fairly warm during the late fall afternoons, but cool down through the evening. The only very small issue is that the house is right next to the road and the trucks and cars going up and down the road create dust that wafts up toward the deck and hot tub area, but not a huge issue. We will stay at this property again!!

We enjoyed the stay. The hot tub was nice to relax from the day's adventures. It was nice to be a 7 minute drive from Davis and a 3 minute drive from Mirror Lake.

There were several things wrong with the property. Such as, the jetted tub didn't work or even hold water, the bottom of several outlets didn't work, there was a broken electric outlet in the upstairs bedroom and there was laundry left in the dryer for me to do. We had to keep the kids downstairs after the first night when we they found the broken electric socket. We left a day early just so we could get away for a bit.

Excellent location to take advantage of all the area has to offer! The house was clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. The hot tub was wonderful with amazing views and was perfect for stargazing! The bedroom in the crows nest is accessed by a ladder so would not b good for young children. I would recommend bringing fans for the bedrooms during hot weather (there was one fan provided). Also, in case u are looking for a secluded getaway, keep in mind this house is in a quiet, gated neighborhood. The management was easy to work with and responded very quickly to any questions. We would highly recommend going to Bear Rocks in Dolly Sods!! Amazing views!! Can’t wait to come back!!

Nice home and great location to Canaan
The house is very nice for a family, great layout and solid amenities. We enjoyed our stay there a lot. The homeowners association takes good care of the facilities. It snowed while we were there and both mornings the roads were plowed.

Great time!
If you are looking for rest and relaxation, this is the place! Enjoyed watching the sun rise over the mountains and gazing at the stars from the hot tub. Ample space for a family with 2 great sized bedrooms on the lower level, a large bedroom on the upper lever, and a bedroom in the "tower", but be aware that this bedroom is accessible only by a ladder. The kitchen truly is supplied with the necessities...dishes, cookware, toaster, crockpot and coffeepot. Many attractions are within a beautiful drive..caverns, hiking, dining, groceries, etc. The Valley Splendor cabin is a must for anyone visiting this area of West Virginia.
