Great staff, fair price, spacious room. Good AC.
Tough area. Many homeless camped nearby. Not great for walking around.

Overall it was OK, I wouldn't say I was impressed in any way. But it was decent. Clean. Soft bed. A/C works just fine. Room had a view on the parking lot as shown in picture. Breakfast is ok, poor but worked fine cause we were in a hurry. Location is somewhat ok, but I didn't feel safe walking around.
1. Didn't really like the area of downtown, if you turn the wrong street you might get surprised but some shady people and homeless.
2. Valet parking! Ridiculously overpriced ($30/night) and not even that safe honestly. On the pictures you see parking lot seems to be in the garage right, but in reality it is right across the hotel, looked like regular public parking. When we arrived we had to wait in line to get someone to park my vehicle. Honestly I could just done it myself (it is not that complicated, right, why do I need someones help) and that is what I did when I came back after late dinner (to be exact 1am, there was no one there to take care of this), so what is even the point of valet if they are there only during the day :( However there was a security guys, but still.

I had called early on the day of arrival & informed the hotel that I was going to have a later check-in than 4pm. Check-in at hotels are generally 3pm & saw this was later than usual which was fine for this occasion; had it been any other time i would have reconsidered another hotel in the area. The hotel rep asked what time & I verified between 8pm-9pm. The rep stated as long as it was before midnight there was no prob & the reservation wouldn't be automatically canceled. I asked the rep to please make a note of this on my reservation & she stated she did. When I arrived & proceeded to check in, the front desk attendant stated that my reservation was canceled by Priceline 2 weeks prior. I had all the confirmation & reminder emails & showed the attendant. At first, he (attendant) was requiring me to call Priceline directly to reinstate my reservation. After going back & forth w/the rep who was not customer service centric for an obvious error in the booking system with Priceline & showing him my emails, he gave me a room @ Fairfield Suites that is connected to the same building. The room had been cleaned however someone had used the toilet & not flushed, a piece on rail in the shower was broken & detached, the faucet in the tub was coming out of the wall. The room assigned was subpar to what was expected & paid for. The room overlooked a rooftop with service pipes & it was noisy; the rumble of traffic added to it. Additionally it's in an area where homeless camp out at the end of the city block & around the corner of where the hotel is located.

The shower was amazing and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The refrigerator was new and worked very well.
There were too many people drinking and having parties in the facility. The rooms and hallways had a very unpleasant chemical-like smell. We had to purchase several air freshner to cover up the smell. The elevators were always overcrowded. The facility didn't encourage patrons to wear masks. There was dog hair on our sofa.. The floors were dirty, particularly in the bathroom. It was obvious they hadn't been mopped prior to our stay. The stove cooktop had a broken knob and was very hard to cook on. Some of the forks and eating utensils were missing. I had to ask to change my initial room because the chemical smell was so overwhelming.

The man that was standing outside the pool watching us and jacking off then when we ran inside and complained to the manager (heather) did absolutely nothing but say she couldn’t do anything because that wasn’t their side of the property which makes no sense If he was outside the gate. Very disturbed and uncomfortable

Bed was super comfortable. Shower has great water pressure. Great location. Kitchenette was super useful in not having to order take out. Will definitely be staying here again next time in Dallas!
Nothing comes to mind what I didn't like about TownePlace Suites.

the room
the staffs customer service and the lies about payment policies. valet was $30 per car for one night and it took forever for them to valet the car. waited 30mins for someone to take my car and at the end of the stay valet took my ticket but never brought my car down. i waited 20mins before I had to remind them.

staff was very nice
location, too many homeless people around. no good view of anything. the room smells like dirty water. bugs on the wall. trash still in the trash can in the room. hallway looks scary and felt like i was going to fall through the floor. valet was very unprofessional with uniform. (saggy pants) Only do valet no self parking but still have to pay for parking AND tip. heard noises all night from police sirens, gun shots, and foot steps in the hallway, wood floors make the whole hallway and room echo, just a very noisy hotel.

they don't have parking, they have a valet company, and they charge you for park your car, my car got a window broken into when the valet team had my car, and nobody take responsibility for what happened to me.

Staff was professional.
Original room had roaches. Room wound up being 330 instead of 270. Breakfast was bad. Wouldn't recommend at all.

The location
Very expensive for the quality of the hotel. The gym was close .The breakfast starts too late. The parking is $30 per night?!

We liked the loft style.
Didn't like that the valet was supposedly full when I walked by the lot and saw many vacant parking spots. Felt like one of the valet personnel was usually aggressive like he was on drugs. I don't usually leave negative reviews but the valet issue was big considering dangerous neighborhood. There should be avaliable valet to all guests.
