About this apartment rental
This condo is located on the 3rd floor of the very popular and friendly Peninsula Condos just above the Hotel Zone in a secured, gated community at the end of a very quiet street. The last of the condos in Villa 2 were completed in early 2020 so there is no on-going construction in our building.
The master bedroom includes a king-size bed, plenty of closet and dresser space and an ensuite bathroom (including a full-size bathtub).
The second bedroom has a king-size bed, that can be converted into 2 single beds, plenty of closet and dresser space and a bathroom just outside the bedroom.
The condo was completed in 2018, and has 1,125 ft2 of living space on the main floor and another 700 ft2 on the roof-top terrace. Our main floor patio and roof-top overlooks mountains to the northwest and the tee-boxes of the 8th hole of the Vidanta golf course.
Both the main floor and roof-top terrace are equipped to eat outdoors or to just sit in one of the sitting areas and take in the sound of the birds while sipping on a glass of cabernet while watching the sun set over the mountains to the west. (Please note that the upstairs patio furniture is removed from mid-June - August 30 - limited furniture is available upon request)
The condo complex overlooks the Vidanta golf course and has a beautiful large pool and palapa which is surrounded by palm and fruit trees such as grapefruit, banana, mango and papaya. The pool and surrounding area has wifi access which allows you to stay connected while enjoying the pool, shade or view.
The condo is equipped with reliable internet and a smart TV which has Netflix so you can catch up on the latest movies or series and You Tube so that you can pick up pre-recorded news feeds from CNN or BNN or watch last night’s highlights from your favourite sports team.
The condo has 3 A/C units plus a ceiling fan in each room keeps the unit nice cool. The bedrooms are located at either end of the condo and both have a full bathroom.
The kitchen is fully-equipped with all necessary utensils and appliances, including a convection microwave oven and dishwasher. It has granite countertops and a large granite island that seats 4 adults comfortably. It also has a small table and 2 chairs for those who are more comfortable eating at a traditional table / chair combination.
The condo has been stocked with spices and condiments, coffee and filters. We ask that if you use the last of anything that you replace it for the next guest.
The living room has a large, comfortable sectional couch and love-seat which is perfect for a night in enjoying a Netflix series.
Washer/Dryer is located right off the kitchen.
We also provide beach chairs and umbrella and a cooler for those beach excursions.
The condo is close to a number of amenities, including:
5-minute walk to a number of restaurants
7-minute walk to the nearest beach
15-minute walk to 2 large grocery stores;
20-minute walk to historic San Jose, including the city square and a 200-year-old church, various bars and restaurants (often including live entertainment), art galleries, and shopping.
If driving, 15 minutes to world class surfing and 20 - 25 minutes to world-class beaches
While much quieter than its sister city, Cabos San Lucas, San Jose is only a 20-minute car ride to Cabos San Lucas where you are able to enjoy world-renowned night life. Along with its night-life, many of Los Cabos' water activities take off from Cabos' marina, including scuba and snorkeling, whale-watching, sailing, jet-ski rentals, booze and sunset cruises, deep-sea fishing and day trips to the most famous landmark of the Baja peninsula, Los Arcos.
Between San Jose and Cabos San Lucas are a number of world-class beaches, including Santa Maria, Los Palmillas and Chileno Bay Beach.
About an hour up the Pacific coast is a quaint little town called Todos Santos, known for its nearby surfing, art galleries and shops, restaurants, and a number of Eagles (the band)-themed facilities including a restaurant, gift shop, and hotel (Hotel California).
On the east side of the Baja Peninsula (Sea of Cortez) and about an hour from San Jose are the towns of Los Barrillos and Cabo Pulma, both noted for their rugged but pristine coastline and turquoise waters and their world-famous snorkelling and scuba activities.
The condo has been stocked with spices and condiments, coffee and filters. We ask that if you use the last of anything that you replace it for the next guest.
San Jose is a diamond-in-the-rough and offers the true Mexican charm.
There are several daily and direct flights from most major airlines within Canada and the US throughout most of the year; reduced service from May to September. Direct flights from Vancouver, Calgary, Seattle about 4 hours.
Avis offers a car drop-off service where you can rent a car from the airport and drop off anywhere within San Jose with no additional costs. The nearest Avis outlet is located in the La Comer supermarket, a 15-minute walk from the condo.

Met all our expectations
Top marks for everything. We have been renting sub par units for a long time & have had to learn how to make do in every case. This has suited us perfectly; the property is lovely & peaceful, proximity to amenities requires no car, the culture & charm of the area, as well as the amazing dry & temperate weather blows Florida out of the water.

San Jose Del Cabo trip
We has some issues with the house and decided to check out early and move to another place after our first week. The beds didn’t have mattresses on top of the box springs. It had egg crate foam on top.
James was responsive and brought in maintenance twice to try and fix things. When we told him we wanted to leave he had no problem refunding us.
A few things need to be fixed to make it a better experience. Ivan the property manager was great trying to help.
The overall property is in a great area and would come back and visit again.

Workation
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 17 days. What a comfortable condo all set with everything that you need for a comfortable stay. We both worked Monday-Thursday without any issue with internet or phone connectivity. Great area within easy walking distance of Grocery, restaurants and beach. James and property manager Ivan are responsive and gracious hosts. We will be back.

Peaceful
We've never stayed on the edge of a golf course before. It is very peaceful and tranquil. The sound of birds is wonderful. My first impression upon entering the unit was that it seems much larger than I had expected from the photos. The two large bedrooms with two king size beds is very unusual to find. If you wanted to sun tan in privacy you can do so on the large rooftop patio. A ten minute walk gets you to "La Comer", which is a very large grocery store which I wish we had back home. We spend a lot of time on the large balcony off the living room, sitting at the table, working on our computers. It is shaded with a nice light breeze most days and unlike a lot of places we have been to in Mexico, the wifi has not once caused us a problem.
Having water delivered to the door is a big plus. There was cold beers with gaucamole and chips waiting for us when we arrived which was a very nice and welcomed treat. The owner, James, has been very gracious in accommodating us.

Clean, comfy and very roomy condo.
We have now made six trips to San Jose and found James & Peggi's condo to be excellent value. It is well maintained, very well situated with access to the beach, shopping, groceries, downtown, and to easy transportation around town and to Cabo San Lucas. The owners were also excellent, responsive, and attentive to our needs. The condo, and the whole Peninsula complex were delightfully decorated and functional. We would recommend this unit and complex without hesitation!

Everything we needed !
This condo was so comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking or the beach ! We ate all our meals on the patio and grilled too. Saved a lot of money that way. The pool was convenient and no one was there since I guess we came on the off season. We had 2 kids who were also very comfortable and loved going upstairs to the big patio.

Second wonderful stay at Club de Golf Fonatur - March 2019
I have had the pleasure of staying at Peggi and James' beautiful condo on two occasions: Nov 27-Dec 8, 2018 and for the month of March, 2019. The unit is a modern, spacious, well-appointed condo that is fully equipped to meet your needs for a comfortable stay at The Peninsula. I appreciated the cleanliness of the entire unit and the obvious thought and care that went into considering the needs of visitors. The bedrooms are spacious, the kitchen is very well equipped to prepare meals and the living room is furnished for relaxing at the end of the day.
In addition to a large outdoor deck which is furnished for dining and leisure off the living room, there is second very large, open-air penthouse deck, exclusive to this condo. It is perfect for barbequing and has a second area for dining beneath a pergola, a tiled cooking prep area with a sink and a second large lounging area. It is also a perfect area to enjoy a morning coffee and sunrises or for stargazing in the evening.
The pool area is steps from the Villa - it is private and is exceptional. Don't worry about having to secure a spot by the pool; there is plenty of space, chairs and pergolas - if you prefer to relax in the shade.
Ivan, the local property manager, meets you at arrival and is available and responsive for anything that may arise during your stay. I look forward to returning!!

Beautiful condo!
Beautiful condo! Well equip with quality beach chairs, beach and bath towels and all the kitchen items you need. Patio furniture on the main floor and on the upstairs balcony are beautiful.. The upstairs bbq is full sized and spotless . Love the view looking onto the 8th hole on the golf course which we played 6 times. Property manager Ivan was there as planned to meet us with Mexico treats. James was sooooo easy to deal with. The pool was never crowed. Central location, you can walk to town and beach within minutes. Love to go back soon.....thx James!

Great location and amazing pool!
We had a great stay. The condo was clean and comfortable. The location is within walking distance to some restaurants, gym and grocery store. It is a very safe area to explore. The pool area is fantastic. We never had a problem getting a lounge chair and often brought down lunch and beers to enjoy under the palapa. The two private patios were amazing.
The first 2 mornings we could hear construction noise, but then it was shut down over the Christmas holidays. Noise seems to echo from the houses across the golf course and you can hear dogs barking and the golf course lawn mowers going in the early morning. However, we don't like to use A/C (it did work well when we checked it) and we prefer to sleep with the windows open. The noise did decrease when we closed the windows.
We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family!
Thank you James (owner) and Ivan (property manager) for making our stay enjoyable!

Fabulous!
We loved this condo! It had everything we needed for a perfect vacation.
Everyone was helpful and friendly. The condo itself was well equipped and the pool was fantastic. We loved returning to Jame’s condo after a long day of exploring. We would definitely book this again

Great
We spent 2 weeks in this great condo in Nov. 2013. It's everything the listing says and more. Ivan, the manager met us on arrival and greeted us with a Corona and snacks, and is there for you if needed. The condo is new and clean, and extremely well stocked, especially loved the variety of spices provided, which is important to us, as we often like to cook at home, and enjoy dinner and wine on the balcony. This was our first visit to this part of Mexico and wanted to explore the area, probably would have been good to have a car, but the local bus service to Down Town and to Cabo San Lukas is excellent, and we walked to Down Town and the grocery store most times.
We went on a 5 hour fishing trip at the port North of San Jose, and came back with a 35-40 lb Tuna, had some great tuna dinners and shared the rest with the friendly security guard at the condo.
Try the Taqueria Mexico for dinner, had some great meals there.
Would definitely recommend this

Average condo, great location
The stay was well coordinated and easy to get in and out of. The A/C worked great, and generally everything functioned fine. It was nice to have a few grocery items already there, such as coffee filters. The biggest nuisance was going in and out of the security gate. The guards attendance was inconsistent. I had the option of getting out and using the security code, which worked fine. Two of the adjacent condos have been gutted and slowly being remodeled, so the overall appearance of the building could have been better. The location is very central and the walk to the Historic District is not overwhelming.
