About this house rental
This cottage provides such a 'welcome home' feeling as soon as you enter that it will be difficult to leave. It's so cosy but has pops of colour making it cheerful too.
It has an enclosed verandah offering a sun drenched reading nook and breakfast area. It has lovely street appeal with a fragrant garden. The cottage offers separate rooms allowing for alone time if sharing accommodation for work. The recently updated kitchen is compact and offers everything you need. The laundry is equipped with washing machine, Ironing board and iron dryer for winter days and the occasional rain.
This cottage is on Williams St which is a continuation of the Barrier Highway - the highway ends when you arrive in Broken Hill from the Adelaide side. As many guests have said, there is noise but you hardly notice it when inside. The queen bedroom is in the middle of the house and not at the front in order to minimise the noise heard at night. Some of our top motels are set on the highways and so the decision is yours whether or not to make a home at the cottage for a few nights with a little noise.
The cottage is across the road from the Memorial Oval which is popular, hosting dog shows, community events, and football is played there during the footy season. Once a year the Silver City Show is held in September from Thursday to Saturday - the dates change each year - check the dates on the internet.
There is no off street parking however the corner block offers plenty of parking with direct access to the cottage. It sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. The double bedrooms has built in mirrored wardrobes. Relax in the sun filled enclosed verandah or read a book in the nook.

Convenient self-catering accommodation in Broken Hill
This property has two double bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and nice bathroom. There is a laundry with washer but no dryer, though there is a clothes line in the backyard. The house has been altered a number of times, resulting in an odd design. Two air-conditioners heated the whole house nicely. There is a separate (indoor) toilet, which is spartan and cold. Parking is in the street, but it's a quiet cul-de-sac. There is no wifi, and we had trouble with the internet speeds with our Telstra dongle from time to time - which may be a Broken Hill thing? This property is not luxurious, but perfectly functional.

A short Escape from the city
We had a great stay at Comfort Cottage on Williams, excellent place to stay, had everything we needed to be comfortable and enjoy our time in Broken Hill.

Host not upfront or honest.
Host was not upfront and honest about the impact on residents of the Silver City Show/Carnival held 25 meters from the house. directly over the road. We were informed of extra foot traffic and fireworks "in the area". The reality is that there was explosive loud booming music till 11:00 p.m. and an ear piercing siren every two or three minutes till 11:00 p.m.. After the show on Saturday night the equipment was extremely noisily dismantled till 2 a.m.. It was impossible to sleep. We were travelling 2400 kms. in 3 days and expecting to have a good night's rest and sleep. Unfortunately, when we left on Sunday morning our eyes were hanging out, we were unable to safely complete the last leg of our trip and had to find accommodation for the last night. I KNOW that the host comes from Broken Hill and I KNOW would have been fully aware of the impact of this show on the neighbouring residents. While we did find the accommodation to be reasonably clean, it could hardly be described as "flash", a little run down in fact. There was no sugar and we were not game to start looking for a shop to buy sugar after a 900 km drive. Compared with the BnB I owned and ran in Cairns, I found Comfort Cottage to be very poor value for money.

Comfort cottage
We were very cosy, comfortable and warm in this cottage on a chilly night. It is obviously a very old and small cottage, but it is also very obvious that the owners have done a huge amount of work to modernise the cottage and are continuing to work hard to fine tune the maintenance of an old property, and also provide tenants with every convenience. We were happy with our visit and also very happy that our fur babies were catered for and safe. Although short, our stay was enjoyable and relaxing.

Great little spot to stay.
Easy access and location. Suggested improvement, would be better if some off street parking was available.

Comfortable stay for us and dogs...
Hi Leelee ! Just wanted to let you know, that a nice man came to inspect and clean your gas heater and even fixed something, that needed repair. When he was leaving, he realised, that he was at the wrong house! He wanted No 102.
Kind regards
Gunnel
