The canal is clearly a 'destination vacation' spot !
Every property is uniquely different and spectacular . This property was far above a 'normal' dwelling. We had a 'carefree' stay . Hopefully see you next year :)

It was a perfect place to host our 21st annual gals golf weekend! We had plenty of room in the house. Quite comfortable for six adults. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor amenities with sweeping views and a fire pit right at the water’s edge. Absolutely lovely.

This is our second time staying at this amazing home. We love it so much-- the light, beachy vibes, the comfy beds, the gorgeous views, the beach and ocean right there off the deck-- it just doesn't get better! The house is always clean, always has good Internet, has plenty of towels, and is just a relaxing, delightful place to be. We had a wonderful vacation and look forward to returning again next year!

Incredibly spacious and well-equipped house for our family of 10, including two children. Everyone had lots of room to stretch out, and much fun was had on the available kayaks and paddleboards. We will definitely put this on our short list of places to return to every year!

All that I hoped it would be. Great location/ accommodations were perfect- deck and fire pit along with the kayaks made the place perfect for us. Weather was nice as well😃

We decided last minute to fly across country to our twin Nephews graduation. We were so lucky that this house was available and that Heather was so nice and flexible. Great start to the trip!
Now the experience at the house....What an amazing property! It's very clean, and very well thought out. The beds were super comfortable an we had plenty of towels and pillows. We had everything we needed and more. Kitchen was also well stocked to make family dinners.
Our elderly parents loved enjoying the peaceful view.
Our teenagers loved the game room. And our young child loved bird watching and looking for crabs on the sound at low tide with the house provided wellies.
Early one morning we had a Seal sighting, a gigantic starfish and an intimidating Bald Eagle.
Unfortunately we had a lot to do and see in Seattle and we wished that we could have spent more time just hanging out at this house. We hope to back one day. Visiting Seattle was a wonderful experience and this home was a big part of it. Thank you so much for Heather for some great family memories.

The Beach house and location were pretty close to pure perfection. The house is as spacious as advertised, with an expansive and luxurious main bedroom/bathroom, and 3 shared bathrooms. As other guests have mentioned, the larger shared bath/shower doesn’t drain well, the 3rd shower is very small, and there’s low water pressure in the kitchen sink. We cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 10 adults every day for 5 days and we had no issues whatsoever. Fully stocked kitchen and utensils, multiple coffee makers, 2 refrigerators, etc.
The beds were super comfortable, lots of blankets around the house, plenty of space to hang out.
The views are breathtaking from the entire coast side of the house, and wildlife watching is abundant. The deck offers something for everyone from playing to bonfires to the stairs that lead straight down into the water. Even the landscaping around the house is enchanting.
The garage game room offered hours of fun for us all. And we drove to some nearby attractions, hikes and Port Gamble… so much to do in close proximity to the house. There’s a gas station and convenience store at the end of their driveway, literally, so super easy to grab firewood or snacks.
Overall, nobody was ready to leave, even after spending 5 full days inside over the holidays, because this house offered everything we needed plus more.

We spent a little over a week late July2022 with our children and grandchildren. Ten of us in total. Lots of spread-out room. The kayaks and paddle boards were used often. Plenty of bathrooms. Supplied with everything we needed. HVAC was great. Large deck and fire-pit. Hood sound water was comfortable/sheltered and not too deep. Sand dollars live and dead everywhere. Tempted by oysters but passed due to being out of season. Wx was perfect for us- what a gift. Many great memories to cherish. Thanks Heather.

This was the third year we have met up with family at Heather & Pat’s beautiful beach house and can’t say enough wonderful things about it. We especially enjoyed the huge deck, amazing views, and ability able to walk out the door and immediately hit the water with the various watercraft we had access to. The house is always fully equipped with anything you might need in all rooms. The owners are very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. In short, a fabulous home, hosts, and vacation.

fabulous house
This house was beautiful. Beds were comfortable, linens exceptional. The owners were easy to work with. It is ON Hood Canal, so it has a beautiful view. Great firepit. Would definitely stay again. The formal dining worked great for puzzles.
Kitchen, dining, living areas were great, bonus room was great, garage game room was great. Kayaks were great.
We wish we could have stayed longer.
Our group was us (the parents), our 4 kids (2 with wives), and a 22month old grandchild = 8 and a "half" :-)
The only 2 downsides that affected our family, was the limit of 5 min showers, as a couple of the adults had long hair; and
there really is no place to walk - you need to go to one of the nearby parks and walk the trails. (when the tide is out the ground is soggy - but they do have several pairs of boots in the garage you could use)

Wonderful Stay!
Wonderful New Years stay, beautiful beautiful views. Host was very responsive chatted prior and during the stay. We lucked out and the kids got to play in the snow. Perfect amount of space for 8 people! The 3 kids loved the “pop a shot” basketball and ping pong in the garage. Already interested in summer/fall dates! 2 types of coffee Brewers traditional and Keurig. Plenty of dishes, cups and cookware. 2 fridges— we utilized one for food and one for beverages. My only tip for families who will be cooking a lot— bring some Tupperware type storage. We made due with tin foil but that’s the only thing I forgot to bring. QFC and Safeway are a convenient distance too!

Beautiful Funtime with friends!!
Everyday here was “the best day ever”!! We enjoyed being outside on the deck, grilling our dinners, eating our meals, morning coffee … couldn’t have wanted more. We saw seals, herons and many other birds every day. The weather was fantastic. We’ve already discussed the desire to come back for another group get away Thank you for allowing us to use your home!!!

The new decking is beautiful. The four bedrooms are on the west wing allowing people to sleep while others watch tv or talk at the east end.
The new toilet in the master bedroom is nice.
The kitchen appliances could stand to be updated but it is obvious that updating is being done In stages.

Amazing, CLEAN home!
We've stayed in plenty of rental homes, and this has to be one of the best! The home is spotless, the owners are so kind and quickly answer any questions, and everything is decorated in soothing, beachy colors. We loved the kayaks and paddleboards and searching for pretty shells during low tide. We really enjoyed the gorgeous picture windows and the sunsets! There were lots of towels, books, games, and even soaps and shampoos available. There were 9 of us, and there was room to spare!
Just to be honest, I did have a hard time with my 18-month old. The deck and stairs to the beach (of which several are underwater at high tide) are pretty scary for littles. Also the TV setup and sound bars are right within reach of little hands. The above-garage playroom would be perfect for littles except it does not have AC and we happened to go during a heat wave.
All that being said, we totally want to rent this home again next year. The views, comfy beds, and quiet neighborhood are perfect for a relaxing vacation. The house was delightfully cool and the ceiling fans made it even better. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, though one night we did try Seabeck's at the owner's recommendation and it was delicious!
All of my kids agreed that it was one of the best vacations we've had. :)

Peaceful Haven
The house accommodations were great The septic situation was fine as long as we were careful not to have two showers at the same time. A magical place to bond as extended family. The water toys were fun for some of us. The games in the garage were a plus. You can’t go wrong with this property.

Hood Canal Getaway
We really loved the property and it was a nice getaway for our entire extended family. 2 grandparents, 4 adults, 2 kids (3 &5). Conveniently located close to town we had our space but also felt connected for going on walks and ice cream runs.
There was enough space for everyone to easily cook and spread out during the day. We loved the game room and the great views of the water. We will definitely book this house again sometime!
The owner was really easy to communicate with and I was able to ask a lot of questions about the kitchen in order to pack accordingly. She even asked me a day into our trip what the kitchen was missing and sent those things the next day.
The challenges arose at night. Don't be mislead by the bathroom count. All 4 bedrooms are on the same side of the house and 3 of the rooms essentially share one full bathroom that shares a hallway with the rooms(no ensuite). The master obviously has its own bathroom. The other 3rd "full" bathroom is fully across the entire house next to the garage and has an RV sized corner shower with cramped space. Even the tiniest adult (5'2") felt it was too small. Sharing one bathroom worked OK for us but is not ideal for multiple couples. The upside with having all the bedrooms clustered was that the early risers didn't bother those who slept in.
We enjoyed spending time out on the deck soaking up the sun and down near the water. Be sure to pack your PNW water shoes as this area is completely covered in broken seashells. Also, for families with small children- look closely at the deck photos. There are an unusual amount of deck drop offs/elevations and very few railings. We had to watch the kids like hawks when they were outside bc the deck all blended together visually. I.e. the 4" stairs could use a grippy reflective tape as multiple people tripped.
All in all we liked our stay. Just a few things that the family talked about that you as a renter should be prepared for.

Great house and location
My husband, myself and our 3 kids (ages 15, 13 and 8) had a fabulous spring break vacation at this house! The house was clean. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We didn't use the room over the garage much because it was too cold and separated. The weather was cool but gorgeous. It was too cold for going out on the lake, but our 8 year old and I explored the shell beaches every day. Boots are a must! They have binoculars there. She was fascinated by all of the birds, eagles, seal, heron, ducks and tons of different shells. The sand dollars are perfect but those are out towards the buoys. The garage is tons of fun - lots of ping pong tournaments! We did 4 puzzles, grilled and cooked a lot, and had smores on the fire pit. Fire wood bundles are for sale across the street. It was a great location to get to Bainbridge Island easily - we went to the Bloedel Reserve botanical garden one day. Would recommend this house to friends.

Perfect Family Holiday!
We loved this house! It's location on the water is fabulous. The house has room for everyone and by room I mean getaway space. People have a place to gather together and separately. The kitchen is well stocked. We loved that they had two refrigerators as we had tons of food. We were disappointed the fireplace was not working and we read that in other reviews. A gas fireplace would of been nice as with all the windows and the outside temperatures. It was cold. The firepit outside was fabulous. We saw seals, eagles, and other birds. They provided the wood too. Kids love smores! The owner surprised us with the fixings! The beds were comfortable too.

Wonderful house, amazing Hood Canal access!
My family and I had an incredible time at this Hood Canal property. This was our third stay in a VRBO house, but our first time in this place. It has blown away all other homes we've stayed in. Inside: there is plenty of space for everyone. When we were eating, inside or out, or making a meal in the kitchen/dining area, we never felt crowded or cramped. There were two different main floor living spaces - we used one to do a puzzle in - both were comfortable and spacious with incredible views of Hood Canal. The beds were incredibly comfortable with nice linens. Outside - a huge deck with lots of room for the family. We brought our own umbrella for shade. Easy access to swim. The firepit was amazing - lots of room, once again - for the whole family. We will definitely stay in this home again, hopefully for much longer than 4 days next time! Highly, highly recommend.

Great location
Great location - west-facing and extensive water frontage. Property has multiple kayaks and paddleboards for use, which we used often. Sunken/sheltered firepit area on water was another nice touch. Clams and oysters to gather at low tide as well.

Hood “Fjord”.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our extended weekend stay on the Hood Canal in this spacious home. First of all, the non-natives learned that the “Canal” is not man-made waterway as the name suggested to us. The waterway is really a fjord and certainly was even more beautiful than we expected. Although we had mostly inclement weather and were not able to fully take advantage of the expansive deck on a regular basis, our daughter was able to get out on a paddle board and we all gathered outdoors to witness an amazing rainbow on our last evening there. We were able to appreciate the incredible views of the mountains and fjord from inside the house as well. We really appreciated all of the various available spaces to spread out when the weather sent us indoors. There was space for all to escape for quiet time and then gather back together. Our one-year-old just loved exploring the upstairs space that we re-named the “Romper Room”. The informal dining table was perfect for our large jigsaw puzzle and the game area was the scene of some really pathetic, yet fun, ping pong playing. The bedrooms were good sized and perfectly equipped with very comfortable beds. The kitchen was well stocked for the several meals that we cooked during our stay. Location wise, we were in the perfect spot to check out some local dining spots for lunches out. Heather was very easy to communicate with and even had sound machines delivered while we were there to address a comment from a previous visitor. These could be used in the bedrooms that might experience some noise from the road in front of the home. We did not use them, and this was not a problem for us at all. We all wished that we could have stayed at this relaxing spot much longer, but hope to return for another visit in the future.

Loved This Home!
This home is spectacular. The views - oh my gosh!!! It’s also spacious, beautifully decorated and fully stocked with everything I can think of. The kitchen also has plenty of children friendly options. The only downside is that it’s right off of a State Route and I can hear cars throughout the night from the bedroom facing the front. Other than that, I would love to come back. Thank you Heather!

Amazing house for families!
We spent three days at this property with friends and family and could not imagine a more perfect setting. Lots of room for everyone to sleep in comfort, a gorgeous setting and close to stores and restaurants if needed. We especially enjoyed the use of kayaks as well as activity room. We would highly recommend it for anyone who is seeking to really experience the peace and wonderment of Hood Canal.

Heavenly Spot
Often when you rent a house online, the photos look amazing and you walk in and the photos were all angles and lighting. Not this place! We all walked in and were blown away by the fact that it was even more beautiful than in the photos. The views of the water from the house and the deck are stunning. The house itself is perfect for families with kids - has everything you need including board games, puzzles and a game room. None of us wanted to leave when our stay was over.
