Nice view from the villa. Well equipped kitchen and house e.g. spices, olive oil and candles that we used outside in the evening. Air condition was nice to have. The beds need to be replaced. Overall a very nice villa and L’Escala was a positive experience with many things to see, many restaurants. The closest beach was a very beautiful sand beach.

Lovely home with a distant view of the ocean, we had several beautiful beaches to choose from, excellent Restaurantes and shopping in addition to local attractions. We were warmly welcomed, and the property manager quickly responded to our questions and one non- issue that arose. Loved the home and the town, didn’t know much about how charming the town and beach really was. Spent time in Barcelona, and Drove north to Caduceus, and went to several beach cities. L’Escala was by far the most enjoyable. The house and pool were excellent, and we could not have asked for anything to change. Excellent vacation home.

Nice clean swimming pool with toys to be used by the kids to play with. We were very fortunate with the weather in October so the pool was used frequently. You could say the interior is a bit outdated as mentioned earlier and could use an upgrade, but thats personal. We thought it was a nice family house and we felt really at home. Just a 15 minute walk from the beach of cala montgo. The surroundings are beautifull. Visited the archeological site in l'escala which is really recommended. Just 45 minutes from the beautifull town Girona. We will love to come back someday!

Spend 3 weeks at the villa Marcopolo, absolutely loved the pool, especially the children, who could not get enough of it.. Hardly were indoors, except to cool down a bit when it was > 37C for a few days, happy with the aircon. The villa has everything one needs, to relax and enjoy, the area the villa is located in is really quiet and green. Used the BBQ a lot and dined at lovely, reasonably priced restaurants in L'Escala, which is a lovely old village. Very nice beaches nearby and a lot of nice places to visit in the Emporda area. Would certainly like to come back to this spot!

Have been to Villa MarcoPolo 3 times now and Will go there again this year. It is in a green, peacefull area, one can walk through the forest at the end of the street to the lovely beach of Montgo bay in about 17 minutes.the pool is wonderfull, with pooltoys available for Children, as Well as the terrace with BBQ at the same level as the pool, which we booth used a lot. VIlla is complete re interior and kitchen, Nice to have airco on hot days. As kitesurf lover the bay of Rosas is a top location, the best spot in Europe. The rest of the family can envoyer the clean, Nice beaches.

We stayed in Villa MarcoPolo end of April, beginning of May with 2 adults and 4 children. One morning to wake up and from the terrace we saw the snowy mountains of the Pyrenees. We understood that this had not happened in over a 100 years in May! Luckily the villa can be heathed, it was only 11 degrees C. one day. When we arrived we found the villa really clean and tidy, the villa needs to have some paintwork done on the outside, we understood from the owner that this will be done during the summer. We were very happy that there were DVD's to watch and some games to play and a lot of books, because we had two days and nights of rain. The furniture in the living/eatingroom is good and sufficient and the beds are very good, clean and comfortable. Luckily some days the weather was better and we visited the beach at the bay at he other side of the hill of Villa MarcoPolo (15 minutes walk), Montgo Bay, lovely bay with christal clear water and a nice beach with some terraces and restaurants, where you can have a super lunch for little money. The children enjoyed the pool, which is quite deep, so one can dive. We also enjoyed the BBQ on the lower terrace next to the pool. We visited Figueras, Dali Musem and a lot of nice boutique shops. The old village of L'Escala is charming, small nice beach in the centre of the village with a bar next to it, 1869, with great tapas, also a bar, Caravella, with free Wifi. Although we had some days with bad weather we absolutely enjoyed our stay and are sure we want to come back to Villa MarcoPolo, sometime during the summer season. There are a lot of places to visit and we do love the small size of L'Escala which is not as turistic as other parts of the Costra Brava. We can really recommend Villa MarcoPolo, situaded in a very quite part of L'Escala with a lot of privacy. The views are wonderfull, there is only one neighbour, of which the house is at the back and more up hill, the view: Pyrenees, pinetrees and a part of the bay of Rosas to one side.

We spend a lovely holiday with our teenage children in Villa MarcoPolo. Located in one of the most quite and green are's we ever found during our holidays at the Costa Brava. And within minutes of the village and beaches, where you can find everything. Went for windsurfing and kite surfing , and spend a lot of time at the pool, which was also great.
Can really recommend this house, complete and clean and a lot of space. Found a lovely restaurant at Montgo Beach (behind the house at 5 min.) just walk the rockstairs up from the beach with great 3 course day menu incl wine, water breadfor €12! (forgot the name) with view on this beatifull bay.

We spend two weeks in Villa MarcoPolo with friends. We had a wonderfull stay and it really was above our expectations, never arrived at a holiday home so clean and well maintained. We had our small dog with us and were so happy that at the end of the street at 2 minutes there is a wonderfull natural forest, also leading to Montgo beach, which goes on for miles. We especially loved the archeological sites Empuries along the seaside just outside LÉscala. We can certainly recommend Villa MarcoPolo, a lovely house to spent days quitely but a lot of places nearby for sightseeing. Don't forget to visit the Dali museum in nearby Figueras, a must, as well as Gerona. We also played golf at at Emporda Golf in Toroella de Montgri and Platja de Pals, at about 15/20 minutes drive, absolutely fabulous.
Re. restaurants, for excelent food: Roser2 (also in the guide Michelin) we had the gastronomic menu which was delicious at an incredible low price. But we also enjoyed the other restaurants in LÉscala, good fresh food.

We had a wonderfull holiday, lovely villa in a residential area, walled garden, which was super for our 3 children, and a lot of privacy. We BBQéd a lot at the pool terrace, and had breakfast at the upper terrace. (Note that there is no fence around the pool in case of very young children.) We never hired a house before which was as complete re furnishing & decoration. Books, DVD's and toys for the swimmingpool available, and information re what to do and where to go. A lot of safe, clean beaches nearby, from 1 km. to 2 km.We enjoyed the old centre of L'Escala with a variety of restaurants and a large market on Sunday. Good service from a local buro re cleaning of the pool and house.
