About this house rental
Bigger than it looks...says EVERY guest and they love the beautiful waterviews! This sunny, open house has guests enjoying the sunrise from the front deck. in 2014, this house went through a complete renovation..almost like new, All new plumbing, electric, layout...so almost a new house, but some nice older home charms. As you enter through the large front doors, you will want to relax on the sofas or comfy chairs in the livingroom and once again enjoy the views..keep going to the dining area that seats 6 to 8 with a French door out to a patio with BBQ grill...the fully equipped kitchen with island, dishwasher, microwave, stove, and refrigerator. The sunny livingroom greets you when you enter. The main house features 3 bedrooms; 2 with Queen size beds and one with 2 twins. The 2 bathrooms; one with shower/tub and the other is a walk-in showers. The house extends to a great space, almost like a guests suite with private the ability to slide the door door closed and has a wet bar, large great room, queen size bedroom and bath. For a total of 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. (Note for longer term stays; on-sight washer and dryer available)

Great house! Great view! Two large sitting areas in separate rooms allow for different on-going activities. Owners were next door and helped throughout the stay without hovering or interfering. they even allowed a late check out.

We chose to stay at this home again after finding it comfortable last year. The location on the point is excellent and a short walk to the beach. For getting around the area we always rent a golf cart. The home is well appointed and we appreciated having two living areas. The kitchen had everything we needed and is a good size with an island. We had a great stay and would come back a 3rd time to the same vrbo for sure!

My family of 8 adults and 2 younger children stayed for a weekend and this house could not have been any more perfect. There was plenty of room for all of us. The location was great, the kids loved the quick walk to the water. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. The owner was so nice. This house was easily accessible for one of my handicap family members that uses a scooter. We would gladly stay here again and already talking about taking another trip.

This property was much larger than advertised. Rooms were large and clean. Location was excellent. The view of the river was awesome and could be seen from the front deck. Sunrises on the front deck. Sunsets a couple of blocks away. Perfect getaway with family or friends. I would highly recommend this vacation property.

We had an outstanding 2 weeks enjoying all Colonial Beach has to offer. We wanted for nothing! Plenty of room to spread out, and the vista view of the river greets you every morning. Flat out the best rental we have ever had.

A beautiful house and a relaxing stay
This is a beautiful house that is much larger than it appears in photos. It is beautifully furnished and very well-equipped. The kitchen in particular had everything we needed. The house was spotlessly clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The house has a lovely view of the Potomac, and is a very short walk from a small beach from which we enjoyed swimming every day. We were often either the only people on the beach or one of two or three families there. And finally, the host was very thoughtful and responsive -- we had a couple of minor questions or issues, and we heard back from Cathy instantly. A really fantastic experience, all told.

Beachcomber III
Great property, lovely view of the water from the front porch. Everyone was friendly, the area restaurants offered great food. Not a lot open during the day but plenty of places to visit nearby. Just the right place to kick back and relax.

Perfect in so many ways
Deceptively large home with lots of room to spread out! Great views of the Potomac with the ambiance of a 1950’s small beach town. Kids walked a few blocks to the water, played tag in the park across the street and we all walked to dinner at Dockside. This is an especially perfect place for families with smaller kids because the water is shallow and calm. You feel like you are on the Chesapeake Bay. House is lovely with two living areas separated by a well appointed kitchen. Thanks to Cathy for a warm welcome when we arrived.

This property in Colonial Beach is fantastic and was perfect for our getaway with our adult children. There were seven of us staying at the house, and there was plenty of room for all. The photos do not do it justice. It is much larger than it looks. Having two separate living rooms and three full bathrooms made it work well for a group of our size. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we had fun cooking together. The view from the porch was lovely, and the proximity to the water made early morning strolls a frequent occurrence. Colonial Beach is a quiet, friendly sort of town. Plenty of restaurants and hangouts for grown-ups who are really just looking to spend some time together. Kathy was wonderful to work with. She answered all of my questions promptly. We would definitely be happy to be able to visit again.

Beautiful area - place was clean, very big and well equipped. Only suggestion is beds are uncomfortable cheap mattresses. Having a few beach chairs would be a great addition.

This was a comfortable and peaceful rental home in an excellent location. It’s 2 blocks or so to a small beach we enjoyed and another block or two beyond that to Dockside Restaurant. We also rented a golf cart and hit the restaurants in town.
The home was very well appointed and exactly as described. It feels a little bigger than the pictures portray. It was an excellent stay and we will repeat!

The Beachcomber III is larger than expected, with comfortable beds and plenty of seating. We were disappointed that the large stone fireplace was for candles only, but we still had fun on our winter weekend.

The house is perfectly located, on a quieter street than the one that runs right along the water, but with a great river view out the front due to there being a park across the street. I appreciated the thoughtful layout and small things like extra blankets and a safety bar in the shower. The weather was too chilly to cook out or enjoy the outdoor porch/patio spaces (although we did take many long walks), but I am sure it would be very pleasant in the summer. The kitchen was well-equipped. Wifi worked well for all of us. Highly recommend, and hope to stay again some day.

Even if two days of rain we had a wonderful time at the Beachcomber III. The property was clean and perfect size for our group. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed an easy walk to town, the pier and the beach. The owners were more very accommodating and very generous.
