Spent a week visiting villages and going to the beach. After long days out & about, Spent most evenings at the property, having cocktails and admiring the greatest view in Nice. Amazing place.

Beautiful location - could not be better

The accommodations in the lower building at Chateauneuf are comfortable if a bit humble. The washrooms and kitchen are quiet basic. One needs to understand that the chateau is really old. It was was founded in the 16th century as a cool, upland estate in the hills above Nice.
Plan to spend your time at the outdoor patio table under the wisteria arbor or on a chaise at the pool. The views down over Nice and the Cote ‘Azure are a incomparable. The towels are thin and the beds small, but the pleasure of being up above the city in the quiet of an evening outweigh these trivialities.

We stayed for 6 nights. Jean Francois was very helpful with information before arrival and Madame Echba during our stay. We had fantastic weather and the outside space , especially the swimming pool and terrace were amazing , 6 stars , with views down to Nice Ville and the Med.
I notice the 5 star reviews, but we felt the inside while historic, was tired with some flaking paint and showers/furniture that needed upgrading given the cost of booking. (It is also worth being aware that the third bedroom is accessed via the second)
Jean Francois recommended the L'Autobus restaurant, within walking distance, which was superb. The neighbouring boulangerie was excellent and visited every day.

This was a fantastic property. So glad we booked it. The Villa grounds are large and serene. There were staff tending to the gardens and property regularly to keep it fresh. The estate shares with the main house and another rental, but we didn’t know if anyone else was there or not (other than staff) because the property has so much privacy. We were able to stroll the grounds, enjoy fountains, a frog pond, gardens, and pick oranges and lemons. The pool is huge and quite deep and offers great views of Nice and the coast. The outdoor terrace was used quite often for meals and morning coffee. The place is very grand and offered everything we needed. There could have been more towels and products but everything else was perfect. The property is also in s gated community with its own gate as well. Very secure. Would definitely stay again!

Jean-Francois is amazing host. Highly recommend to those looking for a traditional French villa experience within 30min driving distance of Nice. Lots of character and story to this place for those with a penchant for history and culture

A super experience in an amazing old house. Plenty of space both indoors and outside. Some very good restaurants nearby and great walks for the dog!
Our host Jean-François was exceptional in welcoming us into his home and gave us lots of ieas about what to do and where to go.
We had a great time!

This place is heavenly
We stayed in the property with 4 adults. The house is very clean and spacious, having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The third bedroom has to be reached th through the second, but that no problem. Spacious garden, splendid 180° view and a large large large swimming pool. Overall depth is about 1.60m, I guess.
The Gairaut community is very well situated, in the north of Nice. It’s a few minutes away from the highway and the Tramway ligne 1 terminal station (Sappia). As the tramway station has a large covered and free carpark, we always took the tram to the city centre (1€ per ride). Close to the property is a boulangerie (a bit of a strenious walk up the hill) and a Casino shop to be reached by car.
Saying this all, our holiday was heavenly. We could not have chosen a better place to stay. The lady-housekeeper and the owner were very polite and pleasant persons. Thanks for making our stay an unforgettable experience, after two years of covid-lockdown! ;-)

Living in the perfect Poem
If you’ve ever imagined what it could feel like
To live in a water color painting this would be the place. Breath taking. When you drive away you can’t believe you were allowed to be given the gift to stay here. It’s so wonderful.

Absolutely recommendable
Had a great time at the villa. Property, view, and private pool (18x5m!) are outstanding. The owner Mr Blanchetti and his staff are very nice and tactful. We will be more than happy to book the property again if we come back to Nice. Many thanks!

A lovely experience
From beginning to end, our stay was perfect. The property is gorgeous, and the views spectacular. Our accommodations were so charming we spent as much time at the villa as we did exploring Nice. We cannot wait to return.

Fantastic family holiday
Just had the most wonderful week at this property - the pictures just don’t do it justice. Plenty of space within the property for five people. Set a little way out of the centre of Nice, a car would be helpful for getting around but we managed well enough using the buses trams and trains. My sister and I loved the beautiful property, hardens & views over Nice...Our boys particularly loved the pool and the dog!

Two weeks of heaven
We stayed at this fabulous villa for two weeks and did not want to leave - Our host Jean Francois was incredibly welcoming and accommodating- he gave us an in depth history of the estate that has never been sold / since being built in the 1600’s - We had a divine private pool that had a fabulous view of Nice - the air was heady with the scent of Jasmine the terraced gardens with orange and lemon trees added to the ambience of this incredible property. The house was charming and full of character- a little quirky but that added to the charm - not luxurious but delightful- Nothing but good to say about this place - We bought our small dog with us and she was made equally welcome !

Truly a delightful place!
My wife, 5 year old daughter and I had the most delightful time staying at Villa Chateauneuf in March 2019! The property is on a historic estate inside a gated community. The listing is for a small cottage built around a lovely garden with a frescoed dining pavilion. Though next to the large house, it feels quite private. The well maintained grounds include a swimming pool, terraces, fountains and a small orchard, You are invited to pick fresh oranges and lemons. On a hill overlooking Nice and the Mediterranean, the views are stunning as night falls and Nice lights up. In warmer weather the pool and outdoor dining table would have been even more enjoyable. You feel as though you have the place completely unto yourself. The cottage is not large and fairly basic, and thankfully not full of a lot of clutter. The building has old world charm including a few antiques but the necessities are all modern. The heating works very well. One bedroom has a full size bed with large bathroom/laundry room. On the other side are two adjoining bedrooms one with two twin beds and one with a small kid’s bed. This suite has a room with a sink and a bath and another room with toilet, sink and a very cute baby bathtub. Great for a family with a kid or two. It might start to seem cramped with two couples. There’s a studio available for larger groups.
Jean-François is a most charming and welcoming host. The onsite staff were also very helpful. I had trouble connecting to the wifi so I emailed Jean-Francois (using my Orange Holiday SIM card) then I thought I would go shave, I only had a half face of shaving cream on when he called me back and before I could get cleaned up, there was a delegation from the staff at the door anxious to resolve the problem! Which they did.
All in all, this is truly a special delightful place. What a joy to open the shutters each morning, sunlight and the smell of rosemary pouring in. Quiet, save for bird song and a gurgling fountain, it feels quite provençal. You do need a car. The A8 is close by so you can explore the area easily. The Monoprix in Cimiez has everything.

Fabulous historic property
The Chateau is just as impressive as the pictures. Very beautiful and grand place with a very welcoming and helpful host. A little tricky with young children as the garden areas are tiered.

A wonderful stay in a wonderful place
"We had a wonderful winter holiday in the villa. Everything was absolutely perfect: a beautiful historical house with all the things you need for a happy stay, a well-kept garden with olive, lemon and orange trees, breathtaking views of Nice and the sea, very beautiful surroundings and a lot of places to see at a reasonable traveling distance. We had a special pleasure to meet Mr. J.-F. de Blanchetti and Madame de Blanchetti who are very nice, friendly and hospitable. The staff, speaking four languages, is exceptionally kind and helpful and did their best to make our holiday absolutely wonderful. We have already recommended the villa to some our friends and are dreaming of coming there again.
Thank you very much for the most enjoyable holiday!!!!

"As I saw the photos - I ...
"As I saw the photos - I expected much, but when I was there - WOW!!!
Imagine a place where centuries old intelligence and finest customs are still alive, where they dwell on the edge of time and space plus on the edge of the Nice city with the view to the Sea.
Then add an amazing Park where oranges and lemons can pe picked directly from a tree, some meters away find yourself in a old noble villa with the interior, chosen with the most delicate, personal french touch. You have to pich yourself the whole time to believe you are not dreaming. And this feeling does not leave.
That is why we could hardly leave the property. Did not need anything from the city (except a fresh sea-food), it was just so perfect up there.
Do I want to return? It is not a question. I know - I will."

"Pictures about this place didn't lie. Wonderful historical house and a well-kept garden. View to the City of Nice and the sea behind it was breathtaking. House was very clean, quiet and cozy. The owners and staff were helpfull and nice. We could feel a special warmth and kindness to our children. When we asked them what was nice in our holiday villa, they answered: "Everything!". We totally agree and can recommend this place to all."

"We’re very reluctant to recommend this venue as we would like it to remain a very well kept secret so that it doesn’t get booked up and we can return often!!!! The property is beautifully situated in a quiet but very convenient location with breath taking views over Nice, the sea and the Old City. We very much appreciated the warmth of hospitality and welcome from our hosts and their staff."

"They say pictures don''t lie and the ones of this house definitely don''t. A wonderful house with all the described facilities. Our very friendly hosts were of great assistance when we had complications following an accident and were always approachable.
My one regret is that I didn''t get to work thru all the restaurants on the recommended list in the house. Maybe next year."

"We all thought this prop...
"We all thought this property was delightful: clean, quiet idyllic surroundings, breathtaking views, could do with a few more tumblers, and shower curtains would be a good idea but lack of these in no way affected the overall pleasure we enjoyed. Easy access and hosts made us most welcome. Would certainly love to return at some time."

"This place widely exceeded our expectations with its historical background, its well-equiped house and its splendid view on the city of Nice and the sea. We had a very pleasant welcome by Mrs de B. and Fabienne. During our stay, we also met with the other staff and with Mr de B., who are all extremely nice and helpfull people. After 2 weeks of a great holiday, we left Nice with some sadness in our heart, but we already decided that we will return next year to this extraordinary place.
