About this apartment rental
With a 5th floor balcony accessible by the living room, guests staying in Shorewood 501 enjoy sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, a white sandy beach, and the sparkling waters of an oceanfront swimming pool. After hours in the surf, vacationers return from the ocean via the private beach walkway and then dip into the freshwater pool or a seasonally heated spa. Pool is Heated March 1 - April 30 and Oct 1 - November 30. Toddlers have a separate wading pool. Shorewood is a five story elevator building located in South Forest Beach. Among the amenities offered throughout Hilton Head Island, Shorewood is two blocks from the Coligny Beach Market, a quaint downtown area that offers guests a wide selection of restaurants, shopping venues, and entertainment for all ages. The prime location and lovely decor of this up-to-date penthouse make it a VIP property. The owner has remodeled the kitchen with brand new cabinets, counters and stainless steel appliances. New Furniture, and Flooring throughout. King Bed in the master, 1 Queen in the 2nd, 1 Queen & 1 Twin in BR 3 plus a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room.

We booked this Unit as we like the s forest beech area, no carpet, no pets as we have 1 with allergy issues. upon arriving unit appeared to be clean. after 1st night in master bedroom one head terrible respiratory issues . , with further viewing we did notice what appeared to be animal hair behind bed. after speaking with full time resident we were informed that they were some service animals permitted on site, we truly understand , however we feel we should have been notified before booking . luckily we had small enough party to move to another bedroom.

Horrible experience. The unit we rented was on the top floor of the complex (501 Shorewood). A new roof system was being installed and completely disrupted our vacation. Could not use the outside patio because of falling debris from the roof. Crews started at 7:00am and we were subject to very loud noise inside the unit throughout the day. The grandkids were unable to take their naps. Access to unit was challenging because of the placement of the construction companies crane and supplies. The management company should have made us aware of the construction project. We would never have stayed at the property.

Lovely property with beautiful views of the ocean and pool. Really liked the layout for the bedrooms. A few things that we experienced during our stay.
These were told to rental co at checkout 6-10-23
*The bottom dishwasher gasket inside was missing, so we had to keep a towel in front for leaking water.
*the blue comforter on the middle bedroom bed was blood stained so should be replaced.
*The master middle window would not close completely.
*We could not find a broom in the condo to sweep up daily
sand/grit. But there were 3 dust pans; We did find a swiffer
*The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms:
Closets were full of beach chairs, and other items, which didn’t allow us to store our suitcases.
Would have been nice to have had mirrors on the back of the doors to see yourself while getting ready.
More towels in each bathroom would have been helpful
Overall it was a beautiful weather week and other than the dishwasher issue, everything else was in good working order.

One of our favorite condos in Shorewood. Everything was perfect, except the master bedroom mattress. It’s probably due for a replacement - two body-sized grooves on each side of the bed makes it hard to find a comfortable place to sleep.

Pictures do no do this property justice! Beautiful, updated decor and furniture with plenty of room for everyone. We spent most of our time on the large covered balcony with direct views of the ocean and the pool. Prior to our visit, I had several questions for the property management team and they were very responsive and informative. I highly recommend this property and look forward to returning.

A great property but very disappointed in some conditions. Seals on dual pane windows broken. Coveted views totally obscured in some cases. When reported, mgnt said the did not know. Windows inexcusable and should have been corrected before the beginning of the season. Apparent end of season cleanliness is not a priority. Dirt, hair, even nails evident on floors through out. Shower door in master inoperative.

We loved the location and the unit was spacious enough for 6 adults. Loved the three bathroom. It was however very dirty!! Carpets and upholstery we filthy! There were wrappers and potato chips in the clothes drawers and under beds and cabinets. When I called to have a bed frame repaired it took 4 days to come and when I told the rental agency about how dirty, the response I got was " We don't have time to clean the units thoroughly this time of year since we are so busy" I would not rent here again even though I have been to Shorewood 3 times. When I pay $3000 for a week of vacation rental, I expect it to be clean.

This unit is wonderful. This is the third time at Shorewood. We have stayed in several other units, as we rent 2 or 3 for our family - all our kids and grandkids. This unit has the most wonderful views of the ocean and the pool. The pool was heated and very nice and warm, while the weather was a bit on the cool and rainy side, everyone still spent many hours in the pool, perfect for all ages, especially our toddlers. The grounds and facilities have been beautifully maintained. Love Shorewood and we look forward to visiting again.

We are long time vacationers to Hilton Head Island and Shorewood, this was however the best condo we've EVER had! My husband and kids (16,18,19) were impressed with the condo and very pleased with decor,overall niceness. Well done. The patio door and the master window had condensation between the panes so the view was distorted if you tried to look through so to feel the full effect you had to go out to the balcony, but the view was awesome and being on the top floor, it was quiet. Another not so good was being on the pool side as guests tend to NOT adhere to pool hours and are quite NOISY which tends to be annoying. The air conditioner actually quit working one afternoon and within a call to management a conditioner repair man was at the front door and within 1/2 hour the problem was fixed. Overall, great, enjoyable stay.

As always 501 just doesn't disappoint! Some upgrades have been made, kitchen is well stocked, and the view is amazing. We continue to wonder why the owners don't take the TV out of that cabinet and mount it on the wall as the sound is very muffled. Still the best price for a 3 bedroom corner unit. If we had the money, we would buy!!! Thanks again for a super holiday.

Although the unit is somewhat dated it is still the best oceanfront condo for the price! It is good to see that the owners have made some changes to make the unit cleaner and more up to date, although the red comfy chair needs to be replaced.We try and book this unit every time we come to HH and we have been doing this for 20 years, most recently 2x/yr.Seashore Rentals are good people to deal with.

Condo was very nice! Well kept and very bright and cheery. Balcony was awesome. HVAC worked very well and the views were fantastic of the ocean, beach and pool area. Elevator was tiny and very slow but manageable. We took the steps a lot. Only drawback was that the kitchen didn't have very many useable dishes or utensils. The proximity to Coligny Shopping area and restaurants was excellent -- just 3 blocks away. Complex is gated, very clean and seemed very safe.

Great location
Our family thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing stay with amazing views and a very nice pool! Also, this unit is very spacious and set in a great location that is only a very short walk to Coligny Plaza.
However, there were a few complaints.
First, three bedrooms have carpet, which we found odd for a beach rental. Unfortunately, my daughter and husband experienced awful sinus and allergy issues that which they never suffer at home as we have all hardwood floors. A quick trip to CVS and appropriate medication helped, though.
Next, the bed located in smaller of the three rooms was awful, in my opinion, as each spring could be felt. Again, this is a personal preference complaint as we have a more firm memory foam bed at home.
Third, this unit appeared to have issues with certain electrical outlets not working throughout the week. As the week progressed, we noticed certain devices would not charge or we were unable to turn on certain lamps.
Lastly, though the elevator quit working one late evening, management did remedy the situation but only after roughly 18 hours. Keep in mind, a large number of folks staying here were elderly or those with very young children who had numerous items they were dragging down to the pool and/or beach. Again, this is only a minor complaint as I am uncertain the exact mechanical failure and time required to resolve the matter.
Overall, though I would highly recommend this unit, I personally doubt my family would stay here again only because of the carpet and issues experienced by my husband and daughter.

Spring Break On the Ocean
Our family (wife, me, three teenagers) stayed here during a spring break. Very clean, spacious, a well stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, nice ocean views. A bedroom closet was loaded with beach chairs, tennis rackets, golf clubs and other amenities. The pool was fun and there is a nice boardwalk beach access. Buddy from Seashore Rentals helped work though a maintenance issue. The grounds are well maintained. This is a great place to stay - we would rent it again.
