3 families stayed here with plenty of space. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Location to beach was fabulous. Lots of stairs but we didn’t mind. WiFi was spotty but there were storms that may have affected this. Overall fabulous home and we hope to stay again.

A group of about 10 of us stayed for girls weekend. We had an excellent time. The beach is maybe a 5-minute walk, the house is well stocked with everything you could need (especially in terms of each supplies, beach chairs, and towels), and the house is exceptionally clean! If more than two people take a shower at once, the water pressure does get a little low. There are quite a few steps to get to the parking below the house, and not quite as many to get to the parking above the house. But there are a lot of steps for those who need to be aware of that. One of the railings on the stairs coming up is getting a little bit loose, and some of the solar lights along the path don't work very well.
We had a fabulous time overall and the host had excellent communication. Would definitely stay again.

My buddies and I booked this house for our annual get-away and were very happy with the property. Erin was a great host and made sure we had timely information so getting in and departing was easy.
The place is huge with a lot of windows and a ton of light - even on cloudy days. You can walk to the beach within minutes.
The wide-open kitchen made it so that all of us could get in there without it feeling crowded. There are a surprising number of bathrooms so most of us had our own private bathroom.

great family vacation at the Hilltop Hideaway
The Hilltop Hideaway is a large, well-appointed house just a couple of blocks from the beach. We had 13 family members staying and there was plenty of room for all of us. Because the house is on a hill, there are very good lake views (and you can hear the surf). The light in the first-floor common spaces is even better than the photos suggest. The kitchen is large and has any pot, pan, dish, glass, or utensil you'd need. We used the fire pit to make s'mores. Some reviews mention that the internet speed is slow -- that's true but we thought it was a good thing. This is a great place to enjoy each other's company and relax. It made for a wonderful family vacation!

Nice spacious house
Better suited for warm weather. Main living area was too cold to be enjoyed. Internet is limited for a large crowd. Otherwise everything was great!

Great for big Groups
Unlike other rentals I’ve stayed at the kitchen and dining room are large enough for big group meals. We sat 14 adults at the dining room table. The house is up a large flight of stairs which was kind of a pain when brining in all our stuff and would be a concern for older people. Overall the house was perfect for our Friendsgiving and we really enjoyed the weekend.

Wonderful Lake Michigan Respite
We had a wonderful stay at Erin's home. The house was big and roomy with plenty of beds, bathrooms and a well stocked kitchen for large groups with enough seating for both indoors and outdoor meals. We were at the maximum number at times but felt that everyone still had their space as we had a number WFH guests. The proximity to the beach was great, no more than a 5-minute walk. It is also part of the Indiana Dunes National Park so plenty of beaches to visit. The house is up on a hill so if you have guests who cannot do steps, this home might be more of a challenge as one must either navigate going up steps or down steps to access the house. Homes are more closely situated in this neighborhood but there was plenty of green space separating the property from others, particularly on the side of the deck. It was the perfect house for a post-lockdown first-in-18-months family reunion. Erin was also extremely accessible and answered many questions pre-stay and was available while we were in the house so an overall really positive experience.

Perfect house for 14 people
4 families coming from Boston, Philly, Berkeley and Mpls-8 adults, 5 tweens, 1 HS senior. The house worked perfectly for all of us. Location was good. Kitchen huge. Loved the big dining table and outdoor deck. Having lots of backpack beach chairs helped with the stairs. Easy 1.5 block walk to beach. Bathrooms all super clean and nice. Basement a little dank when we first got there but once all windows were opened it was totally fine. We used both bedrooms down there without any issues. We all loved the house and would definitely go back!! Thank you!

Great family vacation home!
This home worked very well for our family vacation - 7 adults, 4 children 4 and under. 6 bedrooms on 3 levels allowed 1 family in the walkout basement, 1 family on the main level, and 1 family upstairs. Very well equipped kitchen, and plenty of beach chairs, toys, and towels for the beach. Beach was an easy 2 block walk. The only challenge is access - there are numerous steps to access the house from both the front and rear, so anyone with mobility issues will have trouble here. Aside from that, this was a great stay, and we will consider this house again in the future.

Family Wedding
We were in town for my son’s wedding (in Chesterton) and my family all stayed here. There was plenty of room for us and the close location to the beach was great! Erin was great to work with and quick to respond. The wedding was amazing and the weather cooperated. Great stay!

Family get together
The house worked well for our family getaway. My eldest daughter and husband have a cottage close by, so we could could keep the grandkids! Plenty of room for my other adult children and their children. The grandkids loved having two bunk rooms they could choose to sleep. Most all bedrooms had attached bathrooms, plenty of room to gather to eat together and close to the beach! Loved the sandy beach and there were plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, and sand toys! Perfect for our extended family.

Wonderful getaway
Nestled in a hill this was such a cool place to stay. There is lots of room to spread out, and there are sleeping accommodations for all kinds of groups who choose to stay here. Many bathrooms offer a ton of privacy. The decor is high quality and unique with wood floors and wool rugs. The newer kitchen and updated bathrooms were so nice. The wrap around deck has wonderful views, and the fire pit was perfect for late night s'mores. There is a short walk to the beautiful beach where we hunted for beach glass and enjoyed the sunsets. There are quite a few stairs to get to the front or back doors, so this may be a little tricky for people who aren't sound on their feet. Other than that, this place is amazing. Thank you for the wonderful weekend away! We had such a great time.

Great time celebrating our 60th anniversary with our family and friends!.
Hilltop Hideaway is just that nestled in a sea of properties (a long walk up ) along Lake Shore Drive in Michigan. We were nervous at first when we saw how many homes were in the neighborhood, but everything was serene during our whole stay. We were delighted that the nearby beach was broad and welcoming, and the water warm when so many have shrunk because of Lake Michigan's high levels. Since our whole family of kids and grandkids are foodies and cooks, we were delighted with the commodious kitchen stocked with all the tools, pots and pans, dishes, and silverware that we needed. We had Chicago neighbors who own nearby properties on the Indiana lakeshore over for brunch one day, and they all agreed that Hilltop Hideaway was perfect for our get together!

So Much Room
We came with a family of 12 which included 6 teens—all wanting their own space—except for when gathering around dining room table. Kitchen well stocked and large enough to hold all the cooks. More than ample sleep space for all & bathrooms aplenty. Perfect family beach house and unlike more northern towns, Michigan City offers proximity to Chicago. Can’t go wrong!!!

Great space in a Great location!
Plenty of space for our extended family of 4 adult couples plus 4 teenagers and 2 younger kids. Gave the teens the whole basement living area which has a king bedroom, a small bunk room with 2 bunk beds, a large shared bathroom, a living area with couch and TV, and a kitchenette. The basement also has its own door to the front steps, so teens could come and go from the beach easily. The main floor has a very spacious and well-equipped kitchen, a large dining area, a very comfortable living room, a half-bath, and a queen ensuite bedroom (i.e. bedroom w/ private bath) off to the side. The deck off the main floor has a glimpse of a lake view and was a lovely quiet place to hang out in the mornings and evenings. Upper level has 2 large ensuite bedrooms (one king, one queen), a large bunk room with 2 bunk beds, and a full bathroom in the hall. The location was perfect.... just a short walk to the public beach access road, and in the other direction a slightly longer walk (or short bike ride) to Washington Park where there is a small zoo and a water park. We had other family members staying in Beachwalk Resort down the road, and we quickly decided that our house had the much more convenient location and a nicer beach! Many beach accessories are provided: a slew of very posh comfortable beach chairs (with backpack-type shoulder straps for hands-free carrying), many beach towels, and a small selection of beach games & toys. We did have a couple of small issues during our stay, and were very impressed by how responsive the owner was - repairs were arranged and executed within hours. Only caution I would note is that the property is situated on a hill so there are many steps from the street to the house. There is a back lot as well which can fit 2-3 cars, and there are fewer steps coming in that way, but they are somewhat uneven.... this was not a problem at all for our group, but could be a problem for anyone who has a lot of trouble navigating stairs so thought I should mention it.
