Villa Daphne is a villa that offers total privacy, numerous facilities, private indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym equipment, toys and numerous dining and siting areas. At the same time, it is conveniently located very close to the beach and all kinds of shops!
Located in a 4,000 sq. m. high fenced olive grove, Villa Daphne is a 350 sq. m. accommodation consisting of two floors.
The villa can comfortably accommodate 10 guests in beds, with space for up to 12 across its five spacious bedrooms. This exceptional villa offers complete privacy both indoors and outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of nature, yet conveniently located near the beach and a variety of shops.
Indoors
First floor
The open-plan first floor is accessed through the main entrance where you will find a living room with an open fireplace, a cozy sitting area with large sofas, and a dining table. The living room also features, a 40 HDTV, a PlayStation 4, and a Nintendo Wii, to enjoy all the fun! Through its large glass doors, the room offers lovely sea views and direct access to the garden and pool, after descending a few stairs. Adjacent to the dining area, the fully equipped kitchen makes sure that you have all that is needed to prepare your homemade meals. The living room opens up to a large veranda, equipped with patio furnishing, providing additional seating areas overlooking the sea and the pool, an ideal place to watch the sunset and relax.
Bedroom 1: This master bedroom features a King size bed (1,80 x 2,00), a self-controlled A/C, a closet, safe and direct access to a shared balcony
Bedroom 2: This bedroom features two twin-size beds (0,90 x 2,00) that may be converted into a King size bed (1,80 x 2,00) upon request, a self-controlled A/C, a closet, and direct access to a shared balcony
Finally, there is a family bathroom with a bathtub, a WC, and a laundry room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer on this level.

A family bathroom with a bathtub can be found on this floor, providing independence and privacy to large groups when required.
The remaining three bedrooms of the Villa can be found on this level.
Bedroom 3: This bedroom features a Queen size bed (1,60 x 2,00), a self-controlled A/C, a closet, a TV, and an ensuite bathroom with a shower
Bedroom 4: This bedroom features a Queen bed (1,60 x 2,00), a self-controlled A/C, and a TV.
Bedroom 5: This bedroom features two twin-size beds (0,90 x 2,00) that may be converted into a King size bed (1,80 x 2,00) upon request, and an ensuite bathroom with a stand-up shower. This bedroom also features a self-controlled A/C and a closet.
Last but not least, the ground floor boasts an indoor, 15 sq. m. swimming pool (minimum-maximum depth: 0.6 m - 1 m), which also functions as a Jacuzzi and can be heated if required with an extra charge.
Outdoors
The terrace of Villa Daphne offers a variety of amenities which include:
- A private, ecological, 100 sq. m. swimming pool (0,4 - 1,7 m. deep) equipped with sun beds and umbrellas for your comfort.
- Barbecue facilities and an outdoor dining table under the shade of the pergola give you ample opportunity to try al fresco dining, while an extra shaded seating area and a gazebo are also available.
- On the other side of the pool, is a lawn-covered area with a playground and toys under the olive trees, for your little ones to enjoy all the fun.
- On a covered part of the ground floor veranda, by the pool, is an air hockey, and mini football table, as well as gym equipment including a bicycle, weights, and an exercise bench.
- The whole area is fenced and secured with an alarm system offering our guests safety and privacy!

Also found at a distance of 5 km are the well known tourist resorts "Platanias" and "Adelianos Kampos" where you can find supplies, amenities, services and entertainment! Finally the city of Rethymno is 10 minutes (12 km) away by car!

Just completed a 10 day family vacation to Villa Daphne. Fabulous villa, great pool and surrounding games area with activities for all ages (our ages ranged from 11 to 75). Our stay benefited from hiring a car. Owner Markos could not have been any nicer or more generous and his interaction with us during our stay could not have been any better. Together with the etouri concierge team they provided excellent guidance, recommendations and assistance both before and during our vacation. We cannot thank them all enough for making this a wonderful stay in Rethymnon. We hope to return!!

As a mixed group of 8 friends around 30 years old, we wanted somewhere remote enough yet a short drive away from amenities and with an environment to socialise, eat and drink.
Firstly, as a host, Markos and the etouri concierge team are outstanding at dealing with absolutely any request and are super easy to communicate with and responsive at almost any time, you feel more looked after by them than if you were in a hotel.
The location is great, remote so you can feel comfortable playing music without being conscious of disturbing others and similarly you will not be disturbed there. It’s around 15 minutes drive to get to most places (supermarkets, butchers, beach, restaurants, bars etc.).
The inside of the villa is well suited to hosting groups, but the best part is without doubt the outdoor area. It’s social without being cramped for a large group, has a coal bbq station (everything you need to get it going were provided by the host and even cleaned when the villa was during our stay), there are outdoor games around the centrepiece pool (salt rather than a chlorine system), a portable speaker was provided and if that wasn’t all you’ll probably see the best sunset of your life right there.

Where do we start.
We had the most incredible experience from initial contact, to booking, to arrival and then leaving.
Sofia greeted us on arrival and told us everything we needed to know about the property. Markos then greeted us on the Monday and Thursday to manage the cleaning process and then the Saturday for our departure. The cleaning and maintenance team were incredible. Markos and Sofia were incredibly hospitable with no end of special treats! Nothing was too much trouble.
The property management team provided exceptional service helping us with taxis.
The villa is impeccably presented and absolutely perfect for families. We were a family of 10 across 4 couples (8 adults and 2 children under 2). The pool was one of the cleanest we have seen and the outdoor area is exactly as it looks in the pictures.
The attention to detail is insane and we literally wouldn't change a thing about the villa and the service we received.
The only issue with the location is that you can't really walk anywhere so a car is really essential but then it is totally worth it for the views and the most beautiful sunsets!

We have been lucky enough to have stayed in some lovely villas around the world but the Villa Daphne is truly outstanding.
We were a family group aged 2 to 65.
The villa was perfect for all of us. It is immaculately clean. Furthermore it is cleaned every few days. This includes the house, the towels, the bedding, the whole outside area right down to changing the covers on the outside furniture.
Any queries, Markos, the owner will respond within minutes. Markos comes every few days to oversee the cleaning and to personally clean the pool and outside areas.
We were left an amazing welcome food package. Throughout our stay Markos brought some delicious treats.
The kitchen is well stocked. A real treat was being supplied with thick soft towels. The house has so much for every age group. The outside pool is such a good size. Room for all. Our family made a great deal of use of the indoor pool, partly as it was warm when they woke up early in the morning and partly when it was too hot for them outside. A real bonus.
The outdoor dining /bbq area is well kitted out and perfect for family meals.
The views were spectacular particularly the sunsets. We found many perfect eating places near the villa and in Rethymno. The food , the service and the people were lovely. We recommend hiring a car also useful for visiting the plentiful excellent local supermarkets.
An all round excellent villa. We would highly recommend.

It's hard to know where to start here. There are so many incredibly positive things to say.
Booking: The coordination in booking was seamless, instant responses and detailed answers throughout.
Location: Whilst down a bumpy road up hills, it is totally worth it for the simply stunning views and privacy! You need a car or taxi to get around.
The Villa: I mean it has everything you could possibly want.
Whilst the inside is stunning, and has all the amenities you want, the outside space is what it is all about. Kids and adults alike had things to entertain them, swimming pool, table tennis, air hockey, sun loungers, BBQ and beautiful sunsets/sunrises!
The Host: There are not many people on earth as kind and as generous as Markos. His hospitality knows no bounds, super attentive, friendly and just a great human.
The Concierge Service: Etouri were the icing on the very large delicious cake! I want them in my life always. Nothing was too much trouble for any one of us. From taxi bookings to restaurant bookings if you need anything they are just a message or a call away.

The Villa was stunning from start to finish. Communication before and during was outstanding.
Upon arriving, we were wowed by the villa, no expense spared and perfectly maintained.
For a group of 9 people it had everything we needed from cooking equipment to sun loungers. We all loved our week here which had the most amazing views of the sunset.

This is the perfect villa for a Crete stay. Ideal for families, large outdoor pool and indoor pool plus plenty of well looked after activities to entertain the kids. Gorgeous sunset views and very well equipped kitchen for cooking (including bbq). Great location for beaches (Bali is great!), shops and restaurants (not far from Rethymno - which is fab too).
Villa owner very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable with great advice for what to do/ where to go. Provided us with great local produce for our stay - check out his shop in Rethymno too - Moka - (wish he'd open one in the UK!)

We have been renting villas across Europe for over 20 years.
This was the best by far – simply outstanding!!
The villa facilities, especially the outdoor space, were just perfect. Proper sunbeds, games and spacious private gardens.
The pool is huge and the salt water filtration so much better than the usual chlorine cleaning.
There is a shady spot for any time of the day. It was hard to tear ourselves away to explore the area.
The view of the sunset in the evening was just breath-taking.
The villa interior has everything you would need for a group of any size.
There is a good local supermarket 2 minutes drive away and many good restaurants within a 10 minute drive a - special mention for Paraplous right by the sea with brilliant service and excellent food.
Markos, the villa owner, was the perfect host.
Kind, generous and helpful beyond any reasonable expectation.
He is obviously very proud of Villa Daphne, as he should be, and wanted everything to be perfect.
It was spotlessly maintained twice a week by Markos and his team.
Markos was ever helpful with suggestions on where to eat, places to visit, and on every visit bearing gifts from his shop in the old town. Who could ask for more ?
Etouri's concierge service was an added bonus.
Booking restaurants and taxis for an evening out and answering any query or request very promptly and keeping in touch from booking to leaving at the end of our stay. First class communication.

We had a great vacation in this wonderful house! This was our first time to Greece, and choosing this house to stay at in Crete was a great choice. Marcus is the best host we've ever encountered: great communication, extremely helpful and responsive, organized and dedicated to helping during your entire stay. He greeted us at the house with a gift basket and a few food items to get us through our day - which meant we could get right in the pool and relax.
The house layout worked very well with room to spread out and two new bathrooms downstairs. (There are now 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms downstairs.) The kitchen is fully stocked so you can cook anything you want. Great supply of linens and towels for all.
The outdoor space and the pool are amazing! Honestly it was hard to leave and go explore when the house was so great. But Rethymno is a lovely old town with lots of charm, shopping and great restaurants. We rented a car which I feel is a must, but you can take short walks to the market and cafe if you like. I really liked this location, lots to do a short ride away if you want to really explore.
We will definitely go back to Crete - and this house! The people are very friendly, the weather is divine, and the landscape is stunning. Most everyone we encountered spoke English and the concierge service that comes with the house made everything easy from renting a car to booking a restaurant. This house and location get a 10-out-of-10 from us!

We were a family group of 8 adults and all of us were overwhelmed by the villa and what an amazing, generous host Markos was. It was cleaned every 3 days, the pool was immaculate and Markos several times bought us goodies from his shop! I only have praise for our recent trip to Crete. The booking process was straight forward and communication was great.
The villa was everything portrayed on the site - it’s stunning. We were blown away - everything one needed was there already and if there was anything we needed to know, ask or request Markos was always available.

We had the most wonderful stay at Villa Daphne! The Villa was nothing less than exceptional.
Our host was extremely helpful and welcoming, leaving us a lovely hamper when we arrived, he went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. The amenities were second to none, we especially enjoyed the salt water pool, games, and incredible BBQ - there is truly something for everyone there. With its stunning location and beautiful views from the roof- the local town of Rethmyno is only a short taxi away- super easy to book through the villa. A highlight was a nearby restaurant by foot, providing the most delicious food and stunning traditional Greek entertainment.
It is difficult to put into words how breathtaking the villa was, we would return in a heartbeat and were so sad to leave after a fantastic week.

Truly Exceptional Villa
My partner and I stayed for a week in Villa Daphne at the end of October.
The property is stunning, even better than in the pictures. It's modern, very spacious, spotlessly clean, and has everything you could possibly need for a great holiday.
The villa is very peaceful and totally private, with a large wall all-round and an electric gate to the drive. The last minute of the drive to the villa is off-road, but its very easy in a car or on foot and is thoughtfully signposted all the way.
The views to the sea and maintains are really wonderful and the sunsets are stunning.
The main pool is huge and being saltwater doesn't make everything smell.
The indoor pool, which we paid to have heated, was very nice in the evenings, although it's only about 2-3ft deep, so adults can't really swim in it, even at the slightly deeper end where the water jets are.
The bedrooms are all large sized, with lots of storage and are tastefully decorated.
The kitchen has everything under the sun, and there's a separate laundry room with a washer and dryer.
The only negatives I could comment on would be . . . 1. The Wifi was really slow due to it coming through the satellite. It does work, but only about 2-4mbs, which I imagine would not be great for big groups with lots of devices. 2. Like most villas we have visited, the TV is mainly German with just a couple of British TV channels. These are just minor niggles though, which did not spoil our holiday in any way.
The villa owner Markos is a lovely guy and did bring us lovely gifts throughout our stay. He was very helpful at all times whenever we needed him.
Kostas and the booking team were also great and could not be faulted in any way. We also took advantage of their hire car recommendation and found that to be excellent too.
As others have, we visited Rethymno (15 min drive - taxi 20 euros), which was had a quaint old town, lots of history and shops, and a few trendy bars. We also tried Romeo & Juliet restaurant and enjoyed the food there greatly.
Overall, we had an amazing time at the villa and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Crete.

Beautiful Villa in great location
We have just returned from this beautiful villa having stayed for 10 nights as an extended family of 8 adults and 1 baby.
We were met at the villa by Markos who explained everything we needed to know about the villa and the area. Throughout our stay Markos proved to be the most friendly and attentive host and nothing was too much trouble. The villa was cleaned three times and Markos would come along at the same time bearing gifts of delicious cakes and pastries! The one issue we had with the dishwasher was sorted the same morning and we were provided with several phone numbers in case of any problems.
The villa itself sits in its own tranquil Olive grove. Several times I just stood and listened to the complete silence, broken only by an occasional dog barking or the peal of the nearby Monastery bell! It is spacious, spotlessly clean and has everything you need for your stay. The pool is amazing with many quality and comfortable seating areas surrounding it. The views from the roof terrace are spectacular, looking down to the coast one way and inland to the villages and mountains the other.
Although we hired cars, several times we walked over to the nearby village where we had a fabulous meal at "Romeo & Juliet". The food was great and the owners were super friendly. Also in the village was Poulis House where they host Greek dancing nights on a Thursday in high season. This was a fun night in very pretty surroundings and the dancers encourage you to join in if you wish.
It is about a 15 minute drive down to the pretty town of Rethymno or an hour along the coast to Chania. Two beaches we loved nearby were Sirokos Beach (on the Chania Road) a section of the long beach where the beach bar owns the parasols and sunbeds in front. Such friendly and accommodating owners who told us to bring the beds up under the trees and let us take the Little Tykes plastic car from the playground to the beach for our 16 month old to play in. Another great find was "Spillies Beach", a lesser known beach down a track. Great for snorkelling with a pleasant beach bar for meals and drinks.
All in all, a wonderful holiday in this spectacular villa on the very special and friendly island of Crete. We'd love to go back and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Villa Daphne to anyone. Thank you!

simply perfect
first time staying in a villa as usually go to large hotels, safe to say it will not be the last, everything was perfect from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. we travelled as a large group of 12 and any apprehensions about the villa not being big enough were eradicated the moment we arrived and saw the size of this place!!! difficult to put into words how nice this villa and surrounding area is but i been all over the world and this place ticks all the boxes! cannot wait to go back and cannot recommend this villa enough

A truly special villa, a delight to stay in.
We have stayed in many villa's around the Mediterranean and this was without doubt the best. The villa was spotless and thoroughly cleaned twice during our one week stay. The pool was fabulous. The furniture around the pool and outdoor dining were high quality and was where we spent most of our time. The bedding and towels spotless. The beds extremely comfortable and the air conditioning in all rooms meant for really good nights rest. The villa is very peaceful and quiet but relatively close to all amenities. Markos was very friendly welcoming and very attentive to our needs. Do trust his recommendations for restaurants. He brings some very special touches during the stay but to tell would spoil the surprise. I can't recommend this villa highly enough. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed. Thank you so much Markos for a wonderful holiday.

Fabulous House in Good Location
Our family of 7 stayed here for just over two weeks and thoroughly loved the house and pool. The pictures on the website are truly reflective of the house. It is in immaculate condition, and everything is extremely clean. Bedding and towels being changed every 3 / 4 days. Markos is owner is superb to deal with. We highly recommend this property.

Private, quiet, luxurious oasis in a great location!
Villa Daphne is an outstanding property. We really value privacy and quiet, and this did not disappoint. You're surrounded by olive groves and well away from any neighbors. It's just a few minutes inland from the coast and the main highway, but you may as well be an hour away.
The location is very convenient--the lovely town of Rethymno is an easy 10-15 minute drive away and there are plenty of closer stores and restaurants. It's an hour in either direction to get to Heraklion or Chania, and also 1-2 hours to get to fantastic sites on the south coast, including Agios Pavlos and the Minoan ruins at Phaistos (both of which are must-sees IMO). Two easy hours gets you to the fun wavy beach at Phalasarna. And there are great walks around the local area as well.
The house is very comfortable and well-tended. The owner Markos obviously cares a lot and comes by personally to make sure that everything is taken care of (bringing gifts no less). At the same time he was very sensitive not to intrude and had no problem working around our schedule. It makes a big difference when an owner is this involved in the maintenance of the property and invests so much in it.
The beds are very comfortable (another area we're very picky about), and the pool is every bit as fabulous as it looks, with a salt-based system that doesn't leave your eyes watering and your skin smelling like chlorine. The kitchen and living and dining areas are everything you could want. And the porch is a fantastic place to relax with morning coffee or watch the sunsets in the evening.
All in all, Villa Daphne is right at the top of the list of the dozens of houses we've rented over the years, and we would be delighted to return in the future.

Great Holiday.
We really had a great time. The villa was more than we expected. Because of the view, the large swimming pool, the complete kitchen and some new furniture .
We also want to thank Marcos. He is very involved and the cleaning, new bath towels etc has given us the real holiday feeling. Both the children and the adults have enjoyed this great holiday.

Villa Daphne
We had a great week at Villa Daphne, Markos the owner was welcoming and provided great facilities. The villa is outstanding, well appointed, very private and secure. The welcome pack was ideal including bread and milk, however we did stop at the supermarket before arriving to stock up on supplies not knowing what would be provided on our arrival. Cleaning service was provided on Monday and Thursday which was great. Everything was provided including consumables such as dishwasher tablets, washing machine capsules, toilet tissue, even sponges, shower soap and shampoo. The whole outfit was superb and a welcomed experience for our family to enjoy the most it had to offer.

Outstandingly beautiful property!
We stayed at Villa Daphne for 10 days. There was 7 of us including 3 children. The house was beautifully clean and modern and very well equipped and comfortable, especially the beds. The pool was amazing and we all enjoyed a very relaxing time there. Markos, the owner, was on hand to help with any questions and even bought us a new DVD player! He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the house and the area and brought us fabulous gifts whenever he visited. The cleaners were incredibly thorough and the house was sparkling clean. Some additional seating and dining furniture on the balcony would have been nice but otherwise the villa had everything we could have needed. Kostas and Sophia were amazing from getting us groceries for our arrival, organising us a fabulous greek night with traditional greek music and dancing, taxis and a fabulous complementary Gazebo at nearby Baja Beach Resort with wine and a fruit basket. Nothing was too much trouble and response times were very quick and efficient. I would highly recommend this fabulous villa and etouri for your stay - you won't be disappointed!

Family Paradise
This villa is quite simply the most beautiful, luxurious accommodation we have stayed in. I didn't want to write this review incase to many people find out about it. But I have give my thought's so Markos the owner can read them. Markos really was an invisible great host. Every time he showed up with the pool guy's & the cleaners he had a Creten delight's for us. His knowledge of Crete & the local area where second to none. The villa was immaculate ( until our five children where let loose ) The pool is the biggest pool we have seen in a private villa, with proper stairs not just steps. Our chickens aged 7 months up to 10 all went in to swim every day. The steps down from the villa are a tiny bit tricky but they have non slip tiles so don't run and you will be okay. Indoor pool was also a great extra for the hottest part of the day with cooler water and well out of the sun. Lovely kitchen every utensil known to man, great coffee machine and so on and so on. I cooked every day on the huge barbecue and indoors. There is a small gym area with a bike and weights ( i did look at this twice then had to have a drink ) All in all everyone, if you have children, family or just friends, Villa Daphnne gets 11 out of 10 from us. Going for three weks next year ( may not come back ) Thank you Markos Love Matt Carrie and our gang.

Great vacation
Fantastic house, extremely nice, friendly and helpful owner, the house and pool was very clean, outstanding hospitality level; all was well organized and everyone we dealt with as part of the journey was friendly and highly professional. Also, the children were treated very very nicely, by everyone we met, including in all recommended Tavernas. Strong recommendation to visit this place, we will certainly be back.

probably the best villa in Crete
This villa is superb in every way..It is so well equipped and caters for every taste,Spotlessly clean with all facilitiesv working perfectly and a cleaning staff who complete their work without getting in your way.
The accom,odation is fantastic ,every bedroom (there are 4)is vfully equipped with air con (free)
comfy beds clean bed linen close to bathrooms and with a well equipped washroom with washer and dryer and a kitchen that provides every device ,a massive fridge freezer 4 burner oven, micro wave etc all top quality.the lounge is luxurious with ultra comfortable settees, Tv Video re corder ,Air con etc.
An indoor swimming pool and gym and a magnificent outdoor swimming pool which is large but safe for kids and warm.a poolside area with loungers and beautiful gardens .Very secure building and completely private. although the setting is quiet and secluded it is only a short distance from the busy resort of Rethmynon which has everything you need from a Doctor to a super market.
Last but not least ,the owner Markos and his team,always willing to help ,friendly and very informative,really lovely people.
I could go on and on about Villa Daphne but will finish with WE ARE GOING TO BOOK FOR NEXT YEAR ,thats how wonderful it is . Tyhank you Markos

Absolute luxury, five star hideaway villa !!
This was a family holiday to celebrate an 80th birthday with ages between 5 and 80. The villa was amazing, absolute luxury and comfort, we celebrated in style and made use of all of the facilities. The villa had everything you would need and more and the owner Markos looked after us so well. We had maid service twice in the week with full clean and replacement bedding and towels and Markos brought us cakes, croissants and pizzas ! The pool was huge and we spent lots of time in it and around it, lounging on the sunbeds or eating from the well equipped, spotless barbecue. We will be returning to this private haven next year, we have stayed in many villas but this was the best by far. Markos and his Cretan hospitality ensured this was a most special and memorable holiday. You really have to experience this villa to appreciate the quality, the photos look amazing but it is better in real life, thank you for a spectacular holiday !!

A great big happy villa with a truly superb view of the sea and skies.
We loved the villa and enjoyed our stay. The owner has to be the nicest owner of all time. He was super kind and responsive and just unbelievably helpful. You won't meet a nicer guy. He built the place and he cares!
The view (especially in the evening) is truly beautiful - epic pink sunsets. And the villa is well placed between Chania and Heraklion for day trips.
The pool is immense and everything works a treat. Our only very minor issue was the temperamental internet which seemed to need half an hour to "warm up" every morning but then worked fine for the rest of the day.
Will come back when next in Crete.

Really delivers what it says on the packet!
If you choose this villa based on the images you will not be disappointed. The house is huge, the layout such that larger groups feel they can have individual space. Facilities are great. Cleaning service every 3 days adds a bit of extra luxury. Markos is one of the best villa hosts we have ever come across and we have stayed in quite a few villas in several countries. Our family spent hours in the pool. Easy to spend a whole day at "home" without getting bored, but also easy to get out and about sight-seeing. You do need a car though, and the entrance to the property is "off track" so no conducive to easily walking out at night. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone.

Stunning villa with beautiful views
The rental agents are absolutely fantastic to work with, Kostos Vasilakis, property manager at Etouri Properites makes things so easy - I will book again in a heartbeat with Kostos and have high trust in Etouri.
The villa is immaculately clean, with a cleaning service every three days. It is also very well decorated. The pool is a show-stopper and if you want a villa with a spectacular pool - this is the one for you! The best villa pool we saw in the area. The outdoor bbq area is superb and the pool is flanked with numerous sun loungers and a kids play area.
The online pictures really deliver what the villa is.
The villa was very well stocked with supplies including food, detergent and excellent amenities in the bathrooms.
Mr. Markos the villa owner is very responsive if you need anything additional. If you really want to hunker down at a luxury villa and spend most of your days by an incredible pool, this is the place to be.
Local information is provided and the villa is in easy reach of Platanes and many local taverna's within a 1km range.
I give this villa 4.5 stars and would give it a full 5 if the roads to it were a little more accessible and agreeable to local taxi drivers.

Excellent villa
I always think it is useful to read other peoples experiences of visits when making my villa selections so wanted to share mine.
As is usual it is the small things that make a difference and Kostas was a fantastic host. I think it would be impossible not get on with him and his assistance to showing around on arrival, making sure cleaning was done thoroughly as well as great advice on places to visit was invaluable!
The villa itself was beautiful, all facilities were of excellent quality and the pool was the largest one I have seen for these types of villa. The area on the coast towards Rethymon had most of the bars, restaurants and shops needed. It was nice to be able to get to Heraklon, Chania and the south coast from here, especially as a narrow part of the island to cross. I would in addition recommend Bestcars, who we were given the contact via the villa booking and the service from them was faultless with delivery at the airport, great little open top car too!
I would easily recommend this villa and when visiting Crete again would have no hesitation in staying here again, thanks, Pete

Wonderful villa and warm hospitality of owner
I don't usually post reviews but we chose Villa Daphne for our 'Familymoon' (our honeymoon but taking our children, 3 and 13).
The villa is around an hours drive from the airport and easy to find.
Overall we were delighted with the layout and condition of the property. It is hugely spacious and exceptionally well maintained. Wonderful views from the terrace of the mountains and ocean (with great sunsets every evening). Everything you could possibly need is there and the owners have gone out of their way to provide a wonderful array of useful items such as charcoal for the outdoor BBQ, their own olive oil and a host of other items.
The villa was cleaned very regularly and always spotless. On each visit and wonderful array of gifts were provided which was a very wonderful touch. On arrival and departure the owner also provided gifts, deeply sweet.
The owner was warm and helpful and we had to contact them a few times during our stay for one reason or another, nothing was too much trouble.
Location wise it is about a five minute drive from the nearest shops etc so you need car and can't easily walk out for an evening etc. But the upside is complete peace. The private gardens are huge, you are not overlooked and even around the gardens are just acres of olive groves to explore for nature walks.
The indoor pool was a nice touch but the outdoor one the main event. Large, clean and definitely the wow factor. The outdoor BBQ and dining area overlook the pool which makes a nice backdrop to relaxed dinners.
Overall a great time was had by all. Would recommend taking on some of the optional extras such as the private Chef (Stelios Fanourakis) - food was incredible and plentiful and made a couple of very special evenings once we had put the children in bed. The masseuse(Antonis Maragoudakis) and his colleague we booked for two occasions and having a massage whilst listening to music on the terrace as the sunset is a special memory. We also hired a private boat for the day to take us to Balos Beach (Sea Star Chania) which was great but a little rough with the waves for our little ones liking!
In terms of places to visit that are nearby (we were on holiday here for 9 days and didn't manage to explore a tiny fraction of what Crete has to offer) we recommend Old Town Rethymno - wonderful shops and restaurants with a nice little harbour - about 15 minutes drive (eat at La Boheme)
