We had a couple of different families coming together for a “Rushmore” Labor Day weekend retreat. Everyone was able to find the property with relative ease. The grounds are taken care of and have a great seclusion aspect. In the morning a great sunrise and beautiful views. The wrap around deck is fantastic for families who have several different age groups. I would highly recommend this property for families that are looking for a quiet retreat. Fantastic communication with the property owners as well!!!

Absolutely wonderful stay! Would 10/10 stay here again. Perfect for families with young children!

This is a truly beautiful and spacious log cabin--extremely well built and furnished--with gorgeous property and backyard. The only detractions I would note are that the grease from the grill was not clean and it caught on fire. The manager came to clean the grease but didn't finish so we did not get to use the grill at all. We had to cook many hamburgers inside in batches, which was slow and hot. The only other detraction was that the owner wanted us to strip the beds, and also put the trash in our cars and drive them to a trash depository down the road. We do not have vehicles to accommodate trash, though some members of our group put them in there anyways. To me, that was a bridge too far, especially since I paid a hefty cleaning fee. All else was wonderful and we had a lovely time.

This house was absolutely perfect for our family trip. It easily accommodated all 12 of us without feeling cramped. The property owners were so responsive and couldn’t be any sweeter! This area of South Dakota had so much to do that we stayed busy for all 7 days that we were there! You won’t regret staying here!

We had a small family reunion with our kids and their families, 11 people ages 8 months to 65 YO. It was a very special weekend and this beautiful property was a big part of it. The property is secluded but convenient to Rushmore, Custer Park, Keystone, and other attractions. It's quiet, beautiful, very tastefully furnished, plenty of service ware, cooking, and grilling amenities. We've stayed in a lot of properties in the hills and this is by far our favorite.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had 14 people in our group, ranging from an infant to grandparents, and there was plenty of space for us all. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook big group dinners. We loved the huge deck with ample seating, and our kids especially loved playing in the yard and with the games out there. The area was quiet and it felt like we had it all to ourselves. The host and owner were responsive, friendly, and helpful. A couple of the mattresses could stand to be replaced, but other than that, we were very happy!

The house was awesome! I took my kids and grandkids. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortable, plenty of towels and a great view of wildlife! Lots of games to do at the house and close to all areas we went to. Bobby Jo was wonderful and Monte went above and beyond! Would highly recommend this house! We will be back for sure!

Perfect house for our family of 8-grandparents, parents, and grandkids. Plenty of room, clean, well appointed.
The house is within easy proximity to Keystone, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer SP and the two National Parks.
Would definitely recommend!

We chose this house because we wanted three bathrooms and enough space for an active toddler and preschooler. We were not disappointed. The location is close to the kid centered activities we were interested in. Reptiles Garden, Storybook Island, Mount Rushmore and Sylvan Lake. We did have a couple of longer drives but they were well tolerated by the children. There was a wonderful swing on the property and a slack line my 4 year old granddaughter thought was fun. We had a problem with the water pressure that was resolved within 30 minutes of seeking help. As this was a family vacation and our grandchildren are young we did not do much hiking. Although we did make it around Sylvan lake. On the way home my husband and I drove Needles highway and also went through the Badlands.
May is a wonderful time to visit the area.

This home was perfect for our family! Not knowing what to expect, we brought too much. This kitchen had everything we needed, including a high chair! The cousins were well entertained with the ninja slack line, swing and large yard. The adults enjoyed the spacious deck and my mom was right at home watering the beautiful flowers! I would highly recommend this home for your Black Hills Vacation.

Great place for a family
The house is unique and beautiful. Very comfortable and a nice kitchen that allows others to help or discuss the day’s activities. We saw turkeys, deer, rabbits and squirrels on the property. Location is good for almost any trip to central or southern Black Hills and the Badlands.

Wonderful Log Home near to all sights in MT. Rushmore area.
Plenty of parking. We had 4 SUV/Cars consistently and on 2 occasions had an additional 6 families for the evening meal. Plenty to keep young people busy, but don't forget about them. Main level is not kid proof, but they love the lower level and Foosball table. Loved all of our time in this home.

Musings from the "Bear Clan" :>)
This rental was everything it promised to be & more. We were off site-seeing & hiking, etc. every day. It was so nice to have a beautiful, quiet, home away from home to come back to. This house had it all. If you needed some quiet time, there were so many places you could sit, relax & take in the scenery. The kids loved the basement, puzzles, books, toys, Wii games. We had quite a few very intense games of foosball, so much fun!!
We would definitely stay in this beautiful, comfortable, welcoming home again!!

We enjoyed the home very much, it’s supplied all our needs . Would love to stay in this house again.

Family Vacation in the Black Hills Cabin
This cabin was wonderful for 13 of us to live in for 5 days. It was big enough that we all had our "space" and so comfortable, and accommodating. Sitting on the deck in the evening with the gas firepit was one of the most memorable times of our vacation. The big yard accommodated lots of "bags" tournaments in the evening. The manager, Bobbi, of this VRBO was excellent to work with. Perfect family vacation.
