About this house rental
One of the primary attributes of this property is its location near the Grand Hyatt Resort. Poipu Beach is only a 15 minute walk down the Green Belt Path, and Shipwreck Beach is even closer. No need to load up the car every time you want to go to the beach, and the hastle of finding parking.
Whole interior recently painted and Master bath renovated to be a gorgeous spa environment with jetted tub for two, large shower and dual vanity. This property is perfect for extended families with three separate suites, each with access to outdoor decks.
Strong floor plan for private time as well as large spaces for the whole family.
Master Suite with one king bed, second suite with one queen bed, and a third suite with two queen beds.
Private Solar Heated Pool, featuring ...
1) Waterfall that can be heard from most rooms,
2) in pool bench great for unwinding following an event filled day,
3) pool is a great size for kids to have fun, but is not intended for doing laps, (11' x 16') . Access is provided to the Poipu Kai pool, 10 minutes down the greenbelt path for swimming laps.
4) removable security fence to protect young children, with child-proof lock on gate.
USE OF POOL IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. SEE POOL RULES IN GUEST BOOK AND POSTED ON THE ROCK WALL BY THE POOL. CHILDREN MUST HAVE ADULT SUPERVISION AT ALL TIMES.
Please note that the pool SOLAR HEATED. Very few pools on Kauai are heated using propane or electricity due to the cost of power/gas on Kauai. Poipu is renowned for its sunshine, so if the sun is out - the pool will be warmer.
Air Conditioning
Only the bedrooms are air conditioned - for your sleeping comfort. The vast majority of homes on Kauai do not have air conditioning due to the cost of power. Kauai is known for its trade winds - just ensure the windows and sliding doors are open and the trade-winds readily cool the entire home.
Furniture
Much of the furniture has been refreshed since the original photos were taken.
One of the most valuable attributes of this property is its proximity to the Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa. Want to enjoy a little pampering, Anara Spa is one of the world's best spa environments.
Enjoy Stevenson's Sushi and Spirits, their coctail lounge, or nightly entertainment including keiki hula (keiki means 'baby' or 'child' in Hawaiian), and numerous musical groups. The restaurants include Tide Pools (steak and seafood - the best Prime Rib I've ever eaten), Dondero's (Italian), Llima Terrace (brunch), and Seaview Terrace (cafe and nightly entertainment).
- Explore the Garden Island - Eco Adventures everywhere.

Highly recommend! Kevin was the perfect host. The property exceeded our expectations. Location, location, location close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. We will book again when we come back. Thank you, Kevin

We always enjoy our time in Kauai but this time we decided to book a house on the south side of the island. The house was in the perfect location with a quick walk down to the shore each morning to view the sunrise over the water. The cliffside made a perfect path for a morning jog down to Poipu Beach to see the turtles and monk seals. The kids enjoyed splashing around in the pool to relax after a long day at the beach or hiking. We can’t recommend the rental enough!!

This property was great for our friends group getaway. Plenty of room to socialize or have privacy. We loved the tiny exquisite pool and drinks on the deck overlooking it. Location is ideal to walk to beaches, restaurants, and large resort pool. As others have mentioned there is a bit of deferred maintenance and traffic noise (as the main road is on the other side of a wall), but neither bothered us much. Kevin was extremely responsive and accommodating.

Close walk to beaches and some restaurants. House was big and spacious. Host was easy to deal with and very accommodating. Has all the essentials needed. Big back yard. House does have some deferred maintenance that doesn’t interfere with stay.

We stayed for a week with our three young adult / teen children. The bedrooms, each with their own bath, were clutch!
This was a great home base for exploring the whole island, and it's a good location for walking the Poipu Beach area as well.
Everything about the property is well-maintained, easy to use. Kevin was very responsive to our questions.
The bedrooms are air-conditioned and comfortable. We slept well. The main living area was a bit hot in the afternoon, but opening up the windows and running the fans was enough to make it comfortable.

This was truly an Amazing Family experience ❤️. This home was perfect for my Adult children and grandchild. More than enough room for everyone!! This kitchen has everything you need for Family meals. I ❤️ the tiki glasses too!! The pool was awesome for our family's happy hour!! Kevin was an amazing host who responded within 5 min of messaging. Thanks again 🙏❤️⛱️

This is an amazing home. The private pool was such a bonus as one grandchild was not a real beach fan. The house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Kevin the owner was very accommodating. We called with a small issue with one of the bedrooms AC units and he came right over to fix it. If your going to Kaua’i this is definitely the home you want to stay in. We can’t thank you enough Kevin for your kindness.

Very nice property close to several beaches, restaurants, and shopping. Plenty of room for our family of 5. The owner/host was very friendly and helpful when we had questions. The private pool, although small, was very nice and enjoyable. And there were plenty of beach and pool toys and items available for use. The only downside was that it was located next to a very busy street and the traffic noise was a little loud at times. But the bedrooms were quiet so it didn’t affect anyone’s sleep.

the house is beautiful, roomy with a bathroom for each bedroom. Lots of privacy. Kevin was very responsive - came and cleaned the grill for us. There were no lamps in the living room which meant we had to bring them out from bedrooms
The little pool was just right for our young swimmers and the community pool not too far away.
It was a short easy walk to the beach

This house was wonderfully located close to the main beaches we wanted to visit regularly (Shipwreck, Poi Pu, Baby Beach). There was plenty of space for all the adults and children. Kevin was very hospitable and responsive to our questions. The house had many maintenance issues that need to be addressed, but we did not let them ruin our time on Kaui.

Overall really positive, fun experience. Some pros: lots of comfortable beds and private rooms (great for a family or several couples/ adults), beautiful and convenient location, well stocked with everything we needed. Some cons: traffic noise, solar heated pool = unheated pool, air conditioners in the bedrooms weren’t set up (my husband had to download an owners manual and program them), and the main house got pretty toasty in the daytime even with open windows and fans. Overall though, great time!

We were very happy we chose this property for our extended family’s visit to Kauai. Great location, layout, yard and pool! There was an ample supply of baby gear for the one year old, and lots of pool & beach supplies. The almost-5 year old, a new swimmer, took to the pool and quickly learned to snorkel so she could do it in the ocean. So much fun. Thank you for sharing your wonderful property. Such a memorable time.

Great location and comfortable home. It accommodated 6-7 of us very comfortably. It was a great launching point for all of our adventures in Kauai. The walk to Shipwrecks Beach and was easy. The walk to Poipu Beach a little longer so we drove with our gear. The kitchen was adequately outfitted. The small pool in the yard was a bonus. The rooms and beds were comfortable. It met all of our needs perfectly.
There was a little bit of traffic noise due to corner location on a busy road, especially with windows open. Also, as a custom home builder, my only complaint was that some of the workmanship on remodel efforts was very rough or incomplete. For example, tile work in the master shower was unfinished and unsightly. It was a small thing that didn’t impact the enjoyability of our stay, but a factual observation nonetheless.

I would recommend that property, great location, clean house, swimming pool, all swimming, snorkeling, beach gears, short , walking distance to the ocean , trails, very good contact with property manager, we wish to stay longer ;) but it is time to come back

We had a wonderful time together as a family staying at this property!
We had six adults and one nine year old and the accommodations worked perfectly.
The house was “as advertised “ and we all felt at home.
Kevin was available if we had questions and also proactive- reaching out to check on propane level for gas grill.
We would definitely book again.
Thanks, Kevin!!

Gorgeous with a very convenient location
Everything was super smooth and easy with this property. The pool/yard are stunning, the location allows one to walk to the beach, restaurants, and the Grand Hyatt. All the beds are super comfortable and the kitchen comes with everything needed to prepare a large family meal. Perfect for a family group!

This vacation home is beautiful and spacious!
Kevin is an awesome host, very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. We are a huge family that lives on island and wanted a staycation home to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday.
Location was perfect, felt very private because of the beautiful stone wall around the back of the house. We took a walk with the kids to the Hyatt (which is about 5 minutes away) to check out the koi fish ponds. Poipu Beach is nearby, about 15 minutes to walk but we drove there instead. This beach has the best sunsets ever. Don’t forget to bring your camera.
The house is on the corner of the street by the main road but we couldn’t really hear the cars driving by, or it just didn’t bother us. Not a big deal at all!! Just put on some music and you’ll be fine.
This home is gorgeous, Kevin recently renovated the master bathroom and updated everything in the house. The pictures on the website is not how it looks like now! It’s even more beautiful in person. The sectional couch was so comfy. I loved the high ceiling and open layout.
The kids had so much fun in the pool, which was where we hung out the whole day. So relaxing such a great time for our whole family to bond.
The upstairs deck has a grill which was perfect for our cookout we had everyday 😊 the kitchen had everything we needed and the crater view out the kitchen window is beautiful. We appreciate the beauty of this home and how it felt like home for us. We didn’t want to leave.
We will definitely be back for another occasion!
Mahalo Kevin for sharing this beautiful home with us! You’ll be hearing from us soon!

First off, Kevin is a terrific property owner/manager. He's got quite a gem in Mele Lani, and he takes care of his guests to ensure a great visit. The house really does have everything you need for a great Hawaiian beach vacation. Not least of which is a well-stocked garage of beach toys (chairs, umbrellas, various sets of snorkel gear, boogie boards, cooler, beach bags, floaties, etc.). The house has been recently upgraded throughout with fantastic bathroom tile work and fixtures. The master jetted spa bathtub is to *die* for with great views of sunsets every night. The kitchen is well-stocked and spacious; we didn't lack for anything to prepare our meals. Bed linens were super soft and mattresses very very comfortable. Every shower had its own merits (I tried them all), stone tile throughout and windows in each to enjoy the outdoors while rinsing off. Plus an outdoor shower by the pool deck. The pool! Great waterfall feature provided a soothing backdrop to meals on the patio or deck, and the water warmed right up each day to a perfect temperature (in April, mid- to upper-70s). The backyard is very private, bordered on all sides by a high natural lava-stone wall and foliage all around. The front yard has a great hammock strung between two soaring palm trees which you can pick out as you arrive down the main road into Poipu. Location-wise, it's a short stroll along a scenic greenbelt to Shipwreck Beach (~9 minutes), similarly the other direction (~11 minutes) to Brennecke's Beach. Iconic Poipu Beach is just a little further, just under 15 minutes. The walk to Shipwreck and then up the cliff (easy path showing the way) at the eastern/left side is great for sunrise views over the open ocean. But back the the house, Mele Lani is a real find in Poipu. Nothing but high marks all around. Thank you, Kevin!

We had a wonderful stay at Kevin’s place in Poipu for two weeks in February 2020. The house is lovely- great open lay out with open kitchen, eating and living room and second story lanai. The beds were all big & super comfy and the bedrooms were large and nicely done. The property has a lot of beautiful tropical plants and a nice, small yard and pool. As mentioned, the pool is small and is only solar heated, so we found it too cold to swim in most of the time except for maybe a quick dip after an especially hot day. Also, not directly mentioned is that the house sits on a main road, so you will hear traffic. This wasn’t a huge problem, but worth mentioning. Can easily walk to Shipwreck Beach and the Hyatt and also Poipu Beach, although we often drove because of little ones and easily found parking. We had a couple minor things that needed addressing and the property manager was very quick to address them and make sure we were comfortable. In general, a great place to stay in a great location and the use of the pool and hot tub at Poipu Kai was a bonus. We would definitely recommend it.

we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this house! was great for a family and had plenty of room where no one felt too cramped. Great location in Poipu. Only slight downside was a bit of road noise during the day. Otherwise, was quiet and not enough to be bothersome at night. Would definitely stay again!

Pros & Cons
Pros: great location, lovely to walk along the nearby paths, kitchen is well-stocked with everything you'd need, lots of pool/beach toys and items for children, nice to have patio(s) and living room to relax with family, gorgeous landscaping and very comfortable relaxing in the backyard.
Cons: a good amount of deferred maintenance (several lights not working, touch up paint needed, couch needs to be replaced, etc), front door keypad was not functional when we arrived and backup method for obtaining a key was not communicated ahead of time (although owner was prompt whenever I reached out to him), pool was very cold (we used the community one instead).

Super experience!
Very easy process. Communication Beith property management was a breeze

Cozy and Comfortable
this property is just amazing and Kevin is so so prompt and helpful. The house was clean when we got there and everything was exactly the same as the description.
The accessibility to beach and other amenities was excellent. We would love to visit “Mele Lani” again!

Enjoyed our stay!!
My family and I stayed here last month and had a wonderful vacation. The house was great with plenty of space, enough privacy for all 3 couples and yet a lovely upstairs deck where we gathered every morning and evening. There is plenty of beach toys and supplies including towels, water shoes, children's beach toys, chairs, umbrella and a wagon to take it all to the beach. I would definitely recommend and will be looking forward to a return trip!
4.6
A first-class property owner who goes the extra mile
We had a great stay because of the efforts of the owner, Kevin. Things will happen during a stay, and he was very responsive to our requests.
Having said that, we deducted a star for deferred maintenance and updating. The home is a mix of being nicely appointed in some areas to being dated/worn and needing replacement/repair in others.
The beds are very comfortable and the A/C in all the bedrooms is fantastic! The kitchen is well appointed with new small appliances, a great coffee maker, new pots and pans, and accessories.
There's 6 boogie boards, 4 beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, and coolers - all of which we found very useful. There's also a ton of kids pool/beach toys.
The back yard is semi-private and a nice place to hang out. The pool is a nice size, and "solar" heated, which means it's cold. It's refreshing after the beach, but not for staying in a long time. Our favorite part of the house was the second floor deck that's off the living room, which gets morning sun, and is very cozy with the furnishings.
The house sits on a main 2-lane road with some traffic noise that's very noticeable from the back yard if the pool waterfall is not running. It's also noticeable at times on the second floor - the windows stay open all the time for cooling because it gets very warm in the afternoon and evening. There's a view of the mountains, and it's a short 15-20 minute walk to some great beaches.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay, and we definitely recommend this property.

Greatly enjoyed the property close to Beaches, house is well kept and clean.

Great home for families...Poipu is a great area on Kauai.
We had a fantastic week at Mele Lani to start our Kauai family get together. Kevin was very attentive and incredibly prompt with all our inquiries prior and during our stay.
The home easily accommodated our group of 6 adults and 4 children and had all the beach gear you could need for a great day at any one of the many beaches on Kauai. We had some of our most enjoyable days walking to Poipu Beach, boogie boarding (all ages), relaxing on the grass while kids played in the park, then stopping for a hot tub at the Poipu Kai Association on our way back to the home.
We also play tennis and the Poipu Kai tennis courts are very conveniently located. Note - playing tennis cost $10/day per person including kids or $75 for the month for a family (all residing in the same home).
One of our favourite evenings was the market at The Shops at Kukui'ula followed by dinner at The Lanai. We picked up fresh produce for the following nights meals but enjoyed the live music and kids activities at the market.
Many great memories were made - thank you, Kevin.

Everything you could want
Nice property. Walk to beach is more like 15 minutes but nice pathway and a wagon to haul everything is provided. Furniture in living/dining is a bit worn, but the beds were really comfy!

Absolutely excellent
Property was in excellent condition, very spacious, clean, great amenities. Best part was that the host, Kevin Arnold did an incredible job to accommodate our needs. Really wish we could have stayed longer. Very easy to find, close to the beach, had an absolute blast!!!!

Amazingly beautiful house and perfect location!
Before we arrived, Kevin was quick to respond to questions we had. Then, once we arrived, Kevin was extremely accommodating. We were 6 adults, 2 kids (7 yo & 9 yo) and an infant...there was more than enough space in each room for everyone to spread out. Each bathroom was lovely and a good size too. A nice touch was providing Kirkland body wash and shampoo/conditioner in each bathroom. We arrived right after Hurricane Hector passed by so with the extra humidity, at night the A/C was glorious. Since the kitchen is upstairs, cooking does seem to contribute to the heat but the patio is just a few steps away and a welcoming place to cool down and relax. The kitchen was also well-stocked with basic appliances like a coffee maker, toaster and blender which made our stay extremely comfortable. We stopped at Costco after arriving and filled the refrigerator (thanks to Kevin, a bit earlier than the typical check-in time) with some regular items and some specials for the Islands...like Wakame salad and spicy pickled vegetables. A few electrical issues came up during our time, like the downstairs fan in one bedroom never worked, but the A/C still worked so we carried a fan down from the upstairs bedroom. Kevin came over and tried to fix it, but the house seems to have some old electrical issues. Overall, Kevin was extremely kind and understanding as we wanted to let him know about some issues that we noticed when we arrived. There was more than enough laundry detergent since with a big group we needed to be doing regular loads after visiting the beach and using the amazingly beautiful pool. The beds were all extremely comfortable (and new mattresses). The garage contained a lot of beach gear, it was perfect...snorkeling gear, boogie boards, coolers, chairs, beach balls, other fun toys. In addition to being a wonderful house where everyone could hang out both at the kitchen table, indoor family room and outdoor patios, the location was perfect...just a few minutes to the Hyatt on the beach, a 3 minute drive to Poipu beach, close to shopping and more beaches. We visited for my inlaws 50th wedding anniversary (who renewed their vows on the beach) and we can't wait to return! Mahalo Kevin!!!

Great location and home!
This home is within walking distance of two beaches using private paved walkways. It also within walking distance of many restaurants using same walking pathways. Dozens of markets and restaurants within a five mile drive. The home is nice with three outside sitting areas one by the private pool. Kevin was very helpful. We will stay here again. Thank you Kevin!
