It was the perfect spot away from the city. Absolutely loved it. There are also neighborhood dogs that come sat hello and they’re so sweet. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Very accurate description of the location and property. It really is a two minute walk to the beach. Loved the lanai! Suggestions: clean or replace the shower curtain. Need a bigger kitchen trash can and more trash bags.

Our family of four absolutely loved it here. This was our first trip to Hawaii and I'm so glad we chose to stay here on the other side of the island away from Honolulu. It's much less busy with a relaxed island vibe here. We spent the majority of our trip around this area, North Shore and Laie. The distance from Kaaawa was great. The beaches in the area were fantastic.
The house was excellent. Super clean and a wonderful view out the back balcony. Being able to watch the amazing sunrises were a bonus. Sandra was so good with communication and gave us some great recommendations for food, beaches, and where we could watch fireworks for the fourth of July.
We found ourselves at Ke Iki beach more than any other beach. We hit the Sunrise Shack a few times for a quick breakfast. Laniakea Beach was great to see the turtles and Waimea Bay was beautiful which was also close to Shark's Cove for some great snorkeling. The house is really close to Kualoa Ranch. If you get the Oahu Go City pass, you can take advantage of some great activities there and across the island.
For food in the area, Kaya's Kitchen, Waiahole Poi Factory, Seven Brothers and Da Bald Guy will not disappoint. Kono's North Shore, Hale'iwa Beach House, Matsumoto's and Aoki's shave ice were top notch.
All-in-all, next time we go back, we will definitely look at staying here again.
THANK YOU!!

The property was exactly as described, in a lovely local neighbourhood. The lanai was a perfect place to sit with breakfast in the mornings, with a great ocean breeze. Quiet beaches nearby, with fantastic beaches a short drive away., with a hike in the mountains just behind the property as well. Sandra and her husband were fantastic hosts and I look forward to coming back here again!

We loved this home! The house itself was beautiful and the surrounding area was stunning. Sandra was an excellent host and provided us with a warm welcome and great recommendations. We felt safe and comfortable the entire time, and it was a perfect home for our introduction to Hawaii. There were several great coffee shops and restaurants close by that we already miss. Thanks so much for an exceptional rental experience!

Nice location, beach just around the corner. Wonderful view. Only small 7-Eleven in town, bigger stores in next town. House itself in good condition, equipped with everything one might need. Beach towels and chairs, sand toys, …
One bathroom was unfortunately not as clean as the other. But apart from that, everything was clean.

We loved this home in the “country”. It had a view of the ocean and mountains. It was so peaceful being far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close to everything on the island. Sandra was a great and responsive host.

Our stay could not have been better. The home has been recently renovated with recently added kitchen appliances and living room furniture. Stunning mountain views on one side of the house and views of the ocean on the other promote a calming peaceful view of beautiful Hawaii. Dual covered patios in the front and back of the house aid in your enjoyment of the spectacular views. A well-stocked kitchen (i.e., pots, pans, plates, and cooking gadgets) add yet another layer of comfort to the stay. All-in-all a very well thought out rental with amenities in every corner that make your Hawaii stay extra relaxing.

clean and spacious, perfect... when it is not rainy and cold!

The house was lovely, perfect for our 2 couples. It was nice to have 2 full baths. We cooked 2 meals a day and appreciated the well stocked kitchen. The mountain views in the front and ocean views in the back were spectacular. Breakfast was always served on the screened lanai. Enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves.
Sandra was a wonderful host. Due to delayed flights and missing our connection, we didn’t arrive until almost midnight. Sandra had the lights on to welcome us and help us find the right house. It was difficult to find in the dark. On one particularly windy day, the area lost power. Sandra brought us a battery operated light that lit up the living area
There is a park and small beach close by, less than a 5 minute walk. And one of the most scenic beaches in Oahu is a short drive. If you are looking for a place away from the busyness of Honolulu, this is the perfect spot.

We had a great time! The house was great and the community was beautiful and inviting!

For our first trip to the Hawaiian islands we all enjoyed being away from crowds on the windward side of Oahu. This charming early 20th century cottage afforded lovely views of the water and sunrises on a hill away from the main road. It is any easy walk to the beach and close to various attractions. Our attentive hosts made it all comfortable.

The house is very clean and bright, had everything we needed and the view is unbelievable ! We walked to the beach it was nearly empty even in the highest season, with only a few locals. We hiked the gorgeous ( but tricky) trail without a need to drive. To get to more touristy places, the drive was always breathtaking , as it is along the shoreline. We loved everything about our stay!

We stayed here for Christmas 2023- my father 72, my husband 40, and myself 37. It was clean, quiet, SO comfortable- the perfect location and temperature. If you like a quiet area with easily walked to small beaches, please book this property.
The patios are beautiful, seeing the mountains in the front and ocean in the back, you’ll feel like you’re in heaven.
The hosts are SO nice, please enjoy all this listing offers!

Our son station here in Pearl harbor showed us around the island we had a great time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the rainy weather. We spent many hours on the covered lanai watching the waves. The house had everything we needed and beds were very comfortable. If you want to escape the busy tourist areas you can have ocean views in the front and mountains in the back

My family and I enjoyed our VRBO immensely.
We absolutely loved the views from the lanai.

What a fabulous little home in what feels like the most untouched area of the island. We spent a few nights here and could not recommend it more! Everything was so clean and charming, kitchen was great for what we needed it for (very well stocked) and we ate all our meals on the deck! The owners provided basic home amenities (dish soap, bath soap, washing detergent, much appreciated!!). We were supposed to go to Maui, but due to the fires had to pivot and I’m so glad we did. Great, quiet spot to reflect and chill (don’t mind the chickens, we had a few crowing at 6am, but didn’t mind the early wake up call). Will definitely visit again!!

We enjoyed the nice house in a perfect landscape and the friendly host. We will come back again!

Loved the ocean breeze on the deck every morning. View of ocean off of the deck and the mountains from the other side. We enjoyed the neighborhood location. Was a good location for exploring the island from the north shore to the city.

This home was perfect for our family vacation. The house has wonderful mountain and ocean views, and we enjoyed dining on the deck enjoying the breeze. The rental is simple yet inclusive of everything we needed, including beach towels, boogie boards, etc. The location is a little remote but it is worked well as a home base for our activities on the North Shore and Windward side. We stocked up on groceries in Honolulu when we arrived but later discovered Target and other conveniences in Kailua. Nearby we enjoyed the food trucks and Coconut Girl and Guys shave ice stand down the road. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Sandy and family for hosting us!

Remember no air conditioning, but there was a nice breeze every evening and lots of fans each room. Clean and easy to find , walked to the beach in the mornings mice to be away from all the hustle and bustle of Waikiki in Honolulu

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay very much. We wanted to be away from the crowded Waikiki area and this was just what we needed. Check in was a breeze and we were able to check in earlier too. Mark was on site when we checked in. He was very friendly and gave us recommendations on activities and beaches to visit. Cute little house with great views. Very clean and had everything we need, including beach gears and toys for our 3 & 5 year old boys! There is no AC but the cool ocean breeze made up for it and you can hear the waves at night. There is a 7-Eleven nearby and a short walk to the beach, where we mostly had the beach to ourselves on weekdays. When we needed anything, Sandra was just a text away. Very sweet owners. Our boys referred to them as grandma and grandpa. We even had fresh coconuts off their coconut trees. It is an island, so expect humid weather, unexpected showers, critters here and there and wild chickens roaming around. Overall, great experience!

Great property in a fabulous location with wonderful sunrise views. Great communication and owners super friendly and helpful. Lovely quiet location with all the amenities and little extras you would need for a perfect stay.

This was a great getaway cottage. The lanai was fantastic. We spent a lot of time sitting out there each morning and evening feeling the ocean breeze and listening to the waves. If you want a resort with all of the high-end amenities, this is not your spot. If you want a quiet getaway cottage away from the chaos of the city, this is your place. Everything you need for a day at the beach is included and there are several very quiet beaches within a minute or two. Casual and comfortable island getaway!

If you are looking for a quiet place, that has a great view of the ocean and excellent hosts then look no further.
Sandra was amazing to work with and made our stay a dream, and even brought us fresh mangoes from her mango tree.
It is a older home but it has updated decor, flooring and paint that make it feel incredibly inviting. We spent most of our time on the covered porch that has a great view of the ocean and the perfect ocean breeze. It’s a short walk or drive to the beach and all the ocean toys are provided. My only complaint would be the bed, it was a bit too soft for me. Other than that I can’t recommend this place enough! We will definitely look at booking this when we return.
I almost forgot to add that just prior to our arrival the refrigerator quit working. Sandra was quick to inform us of this and had a small fridge and a cooler with ice ready to go when we got there. She even offered to let us store frozen items in her personal freezer if needed. Such a great host!

As hosts Sandra and her husband were wonderful - quick and easy check in, quick response to questions, great hosts! House and location were beautiful, morning sunrises and the roaming chickens were added bonus.
Beds, bathrooms and kitchen were also great - lots of space everything comfortable and clean

What a beautiful part of Oahu. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Real Hawaii. Live like a local. The house is beautiful and tasteful., and was stocked with everything we needed. Perfect for 4 people. We were 2 couples, but would be great for a family. We spent countless hours on the beautiful lani, enjoying sunrises and a couple of rainy afternoons. Just delightful. Chickens and roosters abound, and a few geckos here and there. Also a sweet little dog, Lily that came to visit daily. Sweet as all get out. I would highly recommend staying here, if you love the piece and quiet, the mountains and the beach. You’ve got it all. Sandra, out host is awesome. Lives close by to help if needed. Great communication. She even let me send some exercise equipment to the house so i had it when we arrived. A huge help to me. Thank you Sandra for everything. Mahalo nui loa 🌴

Our first time in Oahu, Sandra's place exceeded our expectations on many levels. We enjoyed the country nature of it. The house is fully equipped to make your stay a relaxing one. Very clean. Sandra is a great host, quick to respond. Watching the sunrise from the lanai is a treat. Check out Ken's seafood place - very fresh seafood - fish, bring home to cook or buy lunch plates there.

The condo was as described, spacious, restful and clean, and in a beautiful setting. Sandra answered messages very quickly and both she and her husband were excellent hosts that I highly recommend. Visually Oahu is an A+, with its gorgeous greenery, clear ocean, and water carved mountains. My son and I also liked the scenic highway views in the mountains, the Byodo temple, the Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden, and a couple of local parks that took us to quiet areas away from the busy road that nearly circles the island.
The weather was disappointing for a beach person like me, being rainy and cool half of the days of our visit. Daytime temperatures were sometimes below 70. People I've talked to about this were as surprised as I was, having the impression that Hawaii is 80 degrees and sunny year-round, which is why I'm including the weather report here. I was also not aware how many of the beaches in Oahu have water that is shallow and rocky, including those near our condo. I like body surfing and just floating up and down with the water up to my chin. Often, I could not get any deeper than mid-thigh before stepping on coral or rocks, and the waves were tiny except on the north shore where they are dangerous in winter. At most beaches we could hear and see the road with its steady traffic sometimes just a few feet away. My son thinks he may revisit Hawaii in the future and explore other islands. I am glad I got to see Hawaii, but for future escapes from Pennsylvania's gray winter blahs I will probably go back to the Caribbean where my winter trips have pretty consistently provided 82+ degrees and sunshine. It's 4 hours away from me vs Hawaii's 11, and its water is 79 to 80 degrees vs Hawaii's 75.

Incredibly relaxing and peaceful time staying in Sandra’s cottage. My friend and I loved the country lifestyle of soaking in sunrises from the wrap around porch. Plenty of space and well equipped kitchen. Short walk from the neighborhood to local beach. Sandra was very welcoming and ressponsive. Cannot wait to return !!

We had the most wonderful time at Sandy’s place. The home is absolutely lovely and the property is beautiful. We were looking for something off the beaten path, near beaches and hikes, and Sandy’s place was all that and more. Interacting with Sandy and her husband was always very easy and pleasant. We’d definitely stay again!!

Great location. Away from busy Honolulu. House was great and beautifully decorated with all you need for cooking and eating. Loved the patio view. Sandra was great! We would rent it again
Thank you.

Completely enjoyed our holiday stay. This property is about a 45 minute drive to most places where you’ll find the tourist crowds, so a rental car is a must.

This was an absolutely wonderful place for two couples to just enjoy everything Hawaii has to offer. The location was a literal 3 minute walk to a nice beach and we were away from all the busy traffic of Waikiki. Our hosts were amazing and we love we will definitely be coming back again

This is the true Hawaiian experience. Beach from the deck and house with a lush tropical mountain right out your back door. House is beautifully appointed with everything you need and within driving distance for every attraction. Escape the crowds of Honolulu and enjoy paradise.
Better yet, ignore everything I said so we can book it every week!
