About this house rental

Whangaumu Bay has a wide white sandy beach which is safe to swim in and boats can launch at all tides.
Our family beach home is situated across a quiet no exit road looking over a public reserve and the water from the main lounge and living area upstairs. Upstairs also has 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a large deck with the BBQ and large outdoor table. Also a smaller deck is a off the main lounge and the front bedroom. Both decks are totally secure for little ones.
Downstairs has another large lounge, with a mini kitchen - jug, toaster, sink and microwave. One of the three double bedrooms here also has a single bed in it. All beds are comfortable. All rooms open to outside. The downstairs bathroom only has a shower. 2 flat screen TVs show Sky. Wireless broadband password is available on site.
The large covered downstairs deck protects an outside lounge suite beside the hammock and overlooking the back yard.
The tree shaded, fully fenced section has an outdoor toilet and shower with another hot water outside shower over an outside bath. The latter is heaps of fun to clean off sand and get warm again after coming home from the beach (or to watch for comets and satellites among the stars after dark!)
The trampoline has a new safety cage (2020)
There is one large old caravan on site if someone wants to sleep outside the house.
We have a boat mooring in the Bay. Please enquire about availability and cost.
When other attractions call, coffee and more is only 5 mins away! Tutukaka has 4 restuarants, a few tourist shops and a store which also sells petrol. From the Marina go out on the 'Perfect Day' for a day's snorkel at the world famous dive ground of The Poor Knights.
Ngunguru Village has 3 more resturants, store, and the recreation centre with 9 holes golf course, tennis and bowls. You can walk to Ngunguru via the coast. Stunning views and pretty river beaches for swimming on the way.
Walks and other beaches both flat and surf are all along the Tutukaka Coast. Matapouri Bay, Whale Bay, Sandy Bay and Woolies Bay.
We enjoy letting our home esp. to extended families. Over Christmas we prefer 5 to 10 day bookings.
Special conditions:
Bring your own sheets, towels and tea towels. Pillows, duvets and blankets are provided.
We have a few single and one double mattress for any overflow of children in the downstairs lounge.
Smoking allowed outside only.
House needs to be left tidy for the cleaner. Charge $100.
The house is large and we like to keep it immaculate.

The house is large and well appointed, and located across the road from the beautiful Whangaumu Bay. The property was ideal for our young family, fenced, with a trampoline, toys and puzzles. Our kids had a blast. The covered deck downstairs was lovely to retreat to in the heat of the day. The hosts were lovely to communicate with, and very quick to respond. The home is located a very short drive to a great cafe (Salt Air Cafe), a decent playground, and general supplies. I would very happily visit again! Thanks again Liz & Alan.

The house was perfect for our large family group, loved having the downstairs lounge setup so the older kids could have their own space to play, the house was baby proof for the little ones with a lockable gate at the top of the stairs, all of the cooking things you could need are there and the bbq outside was a hit! Awesome beach for the kids to play on right across the road, the owners were quick to reply when we had a problem with the vacuum and are very friendly. Bonus having the foam mattresses downstairs the kids all set them up and had a sleepover in the lounge. The only negatives was the water pressure in the indoor shower and bath could of been better but still adequate for a holiday. Overall was a great house great location and we all felt very at home and comfortable during our stay, even met some of the neighbours and they were all very friendly, will hopefully be back again one day!

The property has plenty of space, and lots of water toys (SUP, kayaks, body boards). Because of the storms the previous week, the walk to the beach was twice as long as it was previously - about 100m, as we needed to cross the bridge rather than going directly across the road. The beach was quite busy in the weekend, but mainly deserted during the week.

Really good place for big families. There were eleven of us, 7 adults and 4 kids,ranging from 9 to 12 and we had plenty of room even though we were up there for cyclone Gabrielle.Lovely spot great views

The property itself offers great spacious areas both indoors and out to kick back and relax among friends. The location is perfect with the beautiful golden sands of Whangaumu Beach just across the road and then the conveniences within 10 minutes to Tutukaka or Ngunguru.

Rain or shine, there's plenty of space indoors and outdoors, a trampoline and caravan to play in, an outdoor bath, and the best of all, you're just across from the beach access! This holiday bach is very roomy and suits a large family. Very well equipped with all mod cons and showering and bathing facilities, including a quirky little outdoor bath which was fun for the kids to warm up after a swim during the day and very refreshing and relaxing for a couple of adults to squeeze into at night. I loved gazing up at the tree canopy swaying in wind and feeling the refreshing sprinkling of rain on my skin. Very therapeutic. Cyclonic weather for 5 days, the sun did not peep through once but we got out and battled the wind and braved the rain in our leaky raincoats. Thank god for the tumble dryer. (Sorry for electricity usage) Would love to experience this place in the heat of summer when there are blue skys and sunny days because there is a gorgeous beach right there and little gems of places to explore all along the coastline. Thank you Alan and Liz for being so helpful and sharing your beautiful place. We would love to come back.

We had a really wonderful stay. The house is perfect for multiple families, we had three generations and two lots of kids, so the two separate living spaces were perfect. The views from the upstairs meant we were really happy to stay inside while it was rainy, the upstairs is a lovely and sunny space. The downstairs showerhead wasn't working beyond a dribble, but the outside shower and bath were great coming up from the beach wet and cold. Alan and Liz were great at communicating with us and really flexible when we had to change dates. Thanks for having us!
