My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Miller's lovely home on beautiful Lake Lure.
With a pontoon boat, kayaks, canoe, and paddleboard available to us. we were able to stay busy when we wanted to be or we could just relax on the boathouse deck and enjoy the gorgeous view.
The host (Katie!) was incredibly gracious and communicative and the house provided us with all of our needs.
A return trip will be in our future!

Breathtaking views, very accommodating and comfortable. Everything stated on the website was exactly what it was and then some. A lot of thought and detail was given to all guests needs-from kitchen utensils to baby gates. There were ample linens and towels. We truly had an amazing time and made great memories! Our only regret was not booking a longer stay!

My family and I had the pleasure of spending Thanksgiving at this wonderful house. It was perfect space to cook and have quality time while enjoying a beautiful view in a cozy house. There is so much room to spread out inside and out.

Before our trip to Lake Lure and the Cedar House, I would classify our family as “Beach Goers” Now, I would say that we are “Lake Goers”. Everything was great! We were worried about not having enough to do with the young kids but, the boat house cove provided entertainment for both young and old! The Cedar House home was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The back porch views were breathtaking. Morning coffee and afternoon/evening sunsets were more than relaxing. We will have lasting memories of our family “Lake” vacation!

This home was incredible! Everything we could possibly need plus more. Super clean and Brandy & Katie answered all questions quickly. We would highly recommend this vacation rental.

Our family of 13 -15 adults, teens, kids and babies vacation together every year. It takes a big house, lots of beds, a huge kitchen and plenty of space for gathering to make it work. Cedar House at Lake Lure was our perfect place. We had a lot of questions, and host Katie Miller replied promptly and thoroughly to each one. We were arriving in several cars and there was room for all of them. We needed two ovens, two dishwashers, two washers and dryers.....no problem at Cedar house. We needed several areas for gathering up and found four good places the first day....the decks, the living room with a big coffee table for games, the sunporch with more big sofas, a kid table for meals which doubled as a bumper pool / poker table, and the long table in the dining area, where the cooks could visit with family while making meals. The entryway to the front door became the art and game area for the little ones, out of the way but close to the action. We slept a family of four in the loft and they were not bothered by noise. We slept all teenage boys in the bunk room....what a gift that was. The bedrooms and bathrooms were beautiful, well stocked and there was plenty of water pressure. A storm knocked out power to the house one night just as we put a big soufflé in the oven. Within seconds, the whole-house generator switched itself on and worked all night until power was restored. We didn't miss a minute of fun.
The lake? Perfect, clean, lots of toys. Best house ever!

The Cedar House did not disappoint! The views were just spectacular and the boathouse was fabulous!
The owner, Katie, was very responsive when the TV went out due to a storm in the area.
Thank you!

If we could give this property more than 5 stars we would!
The home is in perfect condition and very well stocked. Comfortable beds, sheets and towels. The boat house is a little bit of a walk (as others have mentioned) but we were well aware and made the most of it. Would DEFINITELY stay here again. You won't find a better view on Lake Lure!

Absolutely beautiful home and views!
We booked this home for our annual family vacation. We had 13 people (9 adults and 4 small children). It fit us perfectly…in fact the sofa bed and trundle bed in the loft were never used nor was the sofa bed in the sunroom, so it could certainly house more. Katie and her family have thought of EVERYTHING a guest could need…any utensil, kitchen appliances, pot/pan, etc. was there and every cabinet and closet clearly labeled to find it. (Believe me with so many cabinets you are super grateful for the labeling 😊) The furniture and beds were comfortable and clean. Just a very well appointed home!
The views from the balconies are stunning! The “spectacular views” description in the listing is spot on! There is a bit of a hike through a trail to get to the boathouse which most of us actually enjoyed, but might be tough for an older or less althletic person so be aware of that…or you can just drive around to the parking spots for the boathouse and head down the staircase from there.
That boathouse is where we spent most of our time! Again, any float, noodle, lily pad you can think of is available for use. There are chairs and umbrellas up top and tons of places to store things and a mini fridge. We were able to connect our phones to the speaker system and have our own little party every day! Down below are two swings that I spent hours reading in. We even rented their pontoon boat for the week. A little extra money but also worth it!
Brandy, the property manager, was absolutely awesome. She showed us everything we needed to know and was available when we had questions.
10/10 reccomend this home! Thank you Katie and family for sharing your beautiful home!

Lake Lure Vacation
The view of the lake was spectacular, especially at sunset! There was plenty of porch space and seating. The house was very clean and well organized. There was plenty of seating, kitchenware, cooking and cleaning supplies, laundry facilities, etc.
Problems: 1. Upstairs bedroom was too open to noise from below. 2. Boathouse was too far away from main house. Access to it was difficult for elderly or handicapped people. 3. No en suite bathrooms downstairs. 4. Several folks had very annoying chigger bites.
All in all, it was a fine vacation house. Thanks.

Amazing location beautiful place.
Owner was very responsive. House was perfectly furnished. We could not stop looking at the views from most every room. Active Cameras inside the living room, and kitchen was a little more disconcerting than I thought. We shared our concern ahead of the booking. It’s a family retreat and this was to insure property was safe. Would stay there again.

Fantastic!
Everything about this property is fantastic. The location, the layout of the house, the enormous floor to ceiling windows, the balconies overlooking the magnificent view of lake and mountains, the well appointed boat house, everything! The host, Katie, has thought of everything and is extremely responsive throughout your stay. We will be back!

AMAZING Stay at Cedar House
I had the opportunity to stay at Cedar House in November with 10 other women. If you are considering booking this VRBO, do not sleep on this decision! There are so many positives to this house and not a single negative. First up, Katie (the host), is delightful. She sent over a detailed welcome guide after booking that included everything from what the house has already to a list of her favorite restaurants. This welcome guide allowed me to come up with the weekend itinerary quickly. She recommended Medina's and we went three times - we couldn't get enough! Katie responds to inquiries quickly and even let us check in a little early knowing some of us traveled far to get to Lake Lure. You really can't ask for a better host. Next up, the house was spotless and came with ample supplies if needed by the guest. We cooked a big dinner one of the nights and could not believe that Katie had the place stocked with cooking supplies and had a TON of spices available. Having two sinks, dishwashers, and ovens was key for making a big dinner for everyone. The boathouse with kayaks and a canoe was also great. The women in my group enjoyed walking up early and heading out on the lake with their coffee. The beds were plentiful and very comfortable. And lastly, the views from Cedar House are breathtaking. Pictures really don't do the view justice. We were so sad to check-out. A few of us are already considering booking another weekend next summer/fall, as we can't wait to go back! Thank you for everything, Katie!

Perfect for our family reunion
We really enjoyed our stay. It was spacious enough to accommodate our large family, and the kitchen was well appointed which was a plus. The kids really enjoyed the boat dock swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. Plenty to do in the area, and the neighborhood was quiet. Very clean. The owners have thought of everything. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Best Lake House by far!!
We just returned from our week vacation in Lake lure and could not be happier with our stay. The house was even more beautiful in person and the amenities far exceeded our expectation. Every single closet was stacked with extra bedding, towels, kitchen supplies, etc. Every cabinet was labeled and neatly organized. The boat house was the highlight of our trip. We had multiple rafts, a canoe, kayaks and a paddle board to use. Our children loved jumping off the dock and swimming in the rain!! The owner was extremely responsive and kind throughout the week and we cannot wait to return! Thank you for sharing this wonderful house with our family!!

Amazing Week
This property has it all! You can feel the love the owners put into it. The mountain views from the house rival any in the area. The lakefront boat house is on a quiet cove and has tons of toys. The house is well stocked with anything you might need and Katie was so easy to communicate with. We're taking tons of great memories with us and hope to return to the Cedar House again.

Wonderful family fun!
This was our second summer coming to Lake Lure and it did not disappoint. We invited most of my family since we had not gathered since 2019 & it was such a great week! Katie was quick to respond to my many questions & we were able to reserve a pontoon boat for 4 days on her recommendation (would do this well in advance). The house was very clean upon arrival & the kitchen is well equipped! The view from the house is amazing!
The kids loved the bunk room & the black out curtains in the downstairs rooms were appreciated. My husband & I had the loft with one of our kids & I was glad that I had brought my sound machine & headphones (in hindsight we should have put my parents up there because my mother couldn’t help but empty the dishwasher noisily at the crack of dawn every morning ;) From the loft, I could also hear my brothers baby crying from the downstairs bedroom, but when I went down to make sure my kids were ok I couldn’t hear him at all from the bunk room (fans on) or the dirty dancing room, which were all nearby (nice!). The amazing views from the loft trumped the noise, but just adding in case that helps anyone else with bedroom arrangements!
We had a great time by the outdoor fire pit making s’mores one night & enjoyed playing games at the large dining table. We brought lots of games with us, but the house is also well stocked with games & puzzles. The boat house in a quiet cove was well enjoyed, as well as the canoe, SUP & Kayaks. You can’t see the boat house from the house because It is a short hike through the woods, but I enjoyed the exercise to balance out all the extra vacation calories!

Dream Lake Destination for comfort and relaxation!
A perfect get away spot and home. The home is beautiful and has everything you need for your stay plus a few extras. There was certainly great thought in providing the littt things that make you feel like you are at your home away from home. It is a perfect blend of having time to just sit around and be with family all while having plenty of activities to do. The communication with the host Katie was amazing. A prompt response was always given with excellent insight and her destination recommendations were spot on. Cannot recommend this home highly enough. Everyone loved it.

Words cannot do justice to this place. The views from the deck are outstanding. The house is big and there were 15 of us and did not feel like we were cramped in. Very spacious. Wonderful kitchen as well. Katie was a great host and a very patient one too. One great thing about this place (some however might feel not so great), is that there are only two televisions in the house. That kind of helps to make case some to go outdoors, and given the location you want to be either on the trails or on the lake. The boat house and the kayaks were a huge bonus, and all guests including the kids had a great time. I would highly recommend this place.Thank you!!

Excellent location and wonderful house
It’s hard to describe how great of a view and boathouse this house has. There is so much to do at the boathouse for kids and adults. Our children and friends were age 9-16, everyone had a great time. The lake is wonderful, the owner was easy to deal with, the house is so well stocked with supplies. We over packed towels don’t need them. They really though of everything.
Will be back to the lake for sure and would stay in this same place again. We had 9 in the group and the house would easily accommodate way more.
