as we arrived we were a pleasantly surprised to find a home that looked exactly as advertised. tucked in from the rd and very quiet. We enjoyed the area quite a bit. The biggest surprise we found was just how stunning the sky was in the evening.

Beautiful nature all around you with just two houses, and a private lake with a boat. My family enjoyed it very much.

This is a really special find! The two story cabin is perfect for a large family, with multiple bedrooms and plenty of space indoors and out. When we arrived, we found a clean and tidy cabin with towels neatly folded at the foot of each bed. The kitchen is a good size for preparing meals, with a large table and everything you need to cook with. The surroundings are beautiful, and we saw rabbits and deer during our stay. A 5 minute walk takes you to the pond and more beautiful views. We were in town picking up our child from summer camp. I would recommend this property highly for that kind of trip or anything that brings you to the area.

We booked this quaint cabin for a long weekend in July. The property itself is well kept on a large plot of land, surrounded by trees and blueberry bushes. Main Street is walking distance away along the rails to trails path, where you'll find several cute cafes and shops. The owners were very sweet and attentive.

Hello,
Me and my family had a great time at this cabin. Just the right seclusion but still close to shopping and restaurants. Beautiful pond and trails that lead out to a paved bike trail. Host was great and check in and communication was a breeze. Will stay again for sure....

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at this lovely property! Beautiful expansive grounds, a picture perfect lake (my son loved taking out the row boat and skipping rocks, I loved the freshwater swimming). Bike path at the doorstep. The house was clean and comfortable. Supermarkets are an easy 10 min drive. There aren’t many nearby towns with nice restaurants, so we mostly stayed in. All together a very relaxing escape!

Such a cute place. Charmingly decorated and furnished. Loved the lake so much. We had a perfect stay. The only thing I’d wanna let people know is that if you plan to cook quite a bit, bring your own kitchen knives and measuring cups and the like.

This was a great get away for family and friends. The house is very cute and the property is gorgeous. The private lake, with row boat, was just as advertised. The air was clear and fresh, with forest and walking paths to explore.

This was the perfect location for staying the weekend for a concert at Bethel Woods! The property is only 30 minutes away from Bethel and has an extensive property to explore. Would absolutely stay here again.

My family and I (from 68 years old to 2 months old) fully enjoyed our long weekend at The Indian Stone Property! The house was equipped with everything we needed and we all fit perfectly. The outside porch was a family favorite to start our day to enjoy our morning coffee and watching the kids play. And then end our day with a camp fire. The property the house was on is beautiful! We enjoyed walking the fields and the trails. The pond was perfect. We enjoyed swimming and playing in the mini sandy beach. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Super quiet spot in the middle of nowhere, but at the same time everything within 10 min drive ( Supermarkets , drugstores , hardware store , gas station, diner, etc)
Huge property with lots of thinks to do and explore, the house has everything you need except for a microwave ( not the end of the world) , very nice place , we would definitely come back
Thank you Michael for everything!

Location perfect for us allowing easy access to biking / hiking from house as well as driving to Loch Sheldrake, Monticello, Liberty and “downtown “ Hurleyville. Artwork and decor thoughtfully unique. Beds comfortable, all appliances new, lots of indoor and outdoor seating so everyone can either be together or find their own space.

This was our first family vacation in many years, so our expectations were high-- and this property exceeded those expectations (and more)! The property is very charming, but the real star is the land surrounding the property and the private swimming lake that also includes a rowboat. Oh and there are blueberry bushes everywhere! Most mornings we had blueberry pancakes for breakfast using the blueberries we picked the day before. Be sure to have lots of storage on your camera, because this location is a photographer's dream! We had a wonderful time and look forward to staying again next summer!

Hidden paradise
This was our second visit to this property and we loved it as much as the first. The land is filled with blueberry bushes and wildlife and the private swimming lake is a hidden paradise. The house offers indoor and outdoor living space with a country vibe but all necessary amenities. We hope to continue to come annually for our family getaway.

Perfect summer getaway
This was a lovely place for our family to spend the first week of summer! We thoroughly enjoyed the fields and woods for romping and the pond for swimming. The blueberry and raspberry bushes behind the house were a treat throughout the week. The house was cozy and comfortable. This was our second stay here and we definitely plan to come back again!

Great cabin for a get away
This property is just as described. We enjoyed walking the property, around the small pond and the connecting bike/walk path (old rail line). The cabin was stocked with necessities and the perfect size for 3 couples and a small child (with still an extra twin bed to spare)! One room had two twin beds and were easily pushed together for another queen bedroom. We used the charcoal grill (don’t forget your charcoal like we did - don’t worry store isn’t too far away) and fire pit for s’mores. Wood was plentifully stocked for both the wood stove inside and fire pit outside. Check in was easy and the owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had. The cabin was clean upon our arrival. We would not hesitate to stay here again!

Quiet, Tranquil but Not as Advertised
The property is very pretty when you take it all in. The pond is very private as are the back fields. There are a number of private sitting areas scattered around the property to escape to & get some alone time.
The Bike Trail is nice, well maintained, but short. It’s ideal for family rides.
That’s the good. Disappointing though is the cabin itself.
Unobstructed views? There isn’t a single window in the entire cabin that isn’t obstructed by overgrown shrubs & small weed trees. You literally can’t see 10 feet out the windows, bar the front window which looks directly at the main house. The potential is there, however some basic garden maintenance is needed.
The ‘long driveway to the vacation house’ should warn you that it leaves you a good 100+ ft from the house. This was a big deal for us as we arrived during a downpour. We got soaked taking many trips across the 100’ of wet & sloshy high grass to the cabin.
Advertised as fully furnished (“just bring your groceries”), the kitchen only included 3 wine glasses, ONE water glass, a whisky glass and about a dozen coffee mugs. One water glass? We resorted to the coffee mugs for all drinks. There are no amenities. You get a single roll of paper towels, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, no foil or other cooking essentials. We’ve stayed in scores of rental homes, this one was by far the least equipped of all.
This was the only home we stayed in that didn’t include a House Book to help you navigate how things worked. When we asked, the answer was there should be one. We never found it.
The house was very dusty, looks as though only a cursory dusting was given to the largest surfaces. You could see the actual wipe marks between the dusted and undusted portions of each surface.
It wouldn’t take much to make this house pleasing. Stock Toilet Paper and Paper towels for your guests – we'll use it, not steal it. Add a House book with instructions, where to find things, etc. Dust a little better. Do some quick landscape maintenance so we can see these views you advertise. Maybe add an inexpensive slate or stone walkway from the parking area to the front door.
We really felt taken by this property – the owner apparently wants to maximize profit by spending the absolute minimum on their guests and the upkeep of the house. Everyone in our family agreed this is the least of all the properties we’ve rented, nothing comes close.

Wonderful Stay!
We stayed with our sons for 3 nights and it was wonderful. The home was very clean, a little creaky, but comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and picturesque. A bit of a hike to the lake- which I appreciated bc I didn't have to worry about safety for my toddler. The lake was really nice! The stars at night were magnificent and we enjoyed every minute. Michael was very helpful and accommodating. He even brought us extra firewood for our marshmallow roasts! We would love to come again!

A lovely and peaceful escape.
This is a nice, well kept house with a private small lake/pond that is a short walk from the house. Great for taking a dip and large enough to swim in. There is a row boat and we really enjoyed that as well. The house was well stocked with cooking utensils. The nearby towns we visited were a bit down on their luck, other than Hurleyville which is tiny; but if you are looking for a peaceful getaway and not interested in doing a lot of in town stuff this place is perfect.

Hidden gem
Stunning landscape—a mix of open fields, forest, and lake. Beautiful cabin with roomy bedrooms and exceptional front porch. Perfect environment for a restorative family gathering. Loved the swimming and overall experience. Thanks for opening up your sanctuary to us!

Excellent getaway in the woods
I absolutely loved the property. It was small and comfy, and you are immersed in nature all around you. The walk to the pond is also excellent, offering a short "hike" that reinforces all of the nature around you.

Nice place in the country
We were two families that enjoyed the property though the weather (rain) did not cooperate for us. Cabin was clean and Wifi was strong for all of us. A few items of note:
1. No fishing is allowed at pond though description doesn't specify that. House instructions state it after booking the rental.
2. Cabin front porch faces the owner's house. Not a big deal but something to be aware of.
3. Though the weather was mid-40's, multiple ticks were found. Big property and not all grass is cut down. Assuming that there would have been even more if the weather was warm.

A Magical Spot
I almost hate to say anything about the Indian Stone Property, and risk letting the secret out! This is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway or longer. We had a winter weekend but hope to return in other seasons. The house is charming, with comfy beds and a well-provisioned kitchen (enough pots and pans, including larger sizes, and utensils so that you can cook with no problem at all on the gas range). A wood-burning cast iron stove in the living room adds to the ambiance, and interesting artwork adorns the walls. But the property is what really makes it special. Each morning we enjoyed a walk through the fields, around the pond, and into the woods, following the hand-drawn and watercolored map. The property adjoins a rail trail, so when we return in warmer weather we plan to bring bikes and cycle into nearby Hurleyville. We also look forward to taking advantage of the outdoor fire rings and seating when the weather is more favorable.

Weekend getaway
Not very clean, mouse dropping's around refrigerator, oven dirty, garage pail filthy, no contact for caretaker. No kindling or starters for wood stove. No volume control for TV.
Quiet, relaxing and enjoyable past these items listed.

Great place to stay and unwind. Enjoyed walking the property and visiting the Neversink area. Comfortable beds as well!

Very clean. Enjoyable. Saw many deer first night we were there
The property is cozy and well kept. Fire was waiting for us upon arrival. Had brief and pleasant meet with Michael who directed us to the proper driveway. Only constructive thing would be some curtains or blinds for the front of the house would have created a little more of a privacy feeling.

Paradise for our pent-up family
As a family who had been pent up in an apartment for months, this property was paradise. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. But the real gem of this listing is the property: acres and acres of rolling hills, woods with walking paths, a pond and bordered by a rails-to-trails bike path. Michael was a helpful and responsive host. We loved our stay and it was hard to leave. We hope to come back.

cabin in the woods
Amazing time at the property, house is well stocked with cooking ware, Internet was very strong. Owner came by to say hi when we first arrived and pointed out how to get to the lake. We cooked most of our meals and had no difficulty. Pleasantly surprised to find cooking oil, salt and pepper, coffee and tea in the pantry. Fire pit in front of the house was easy to use, kindling already sorted and well labeled. We also went into town to have brunch at the Pickled Owl as recommended, which was just a short drive away. Walking through the property was very peaceful. Highly recommend.

Change of pace
Our family decided last minute to take a few days away to have a change of scenery . What a grt property to do that at! The house is clean, and is obvious the owners take care and love their property. It's not fancy but it's authentic nice wood and personal old fashioned touches. My kids loved to see the rotary phones, old radio.... There's a beautiful deck and area with a bonfire that we enjoyed tremendously as it was October and perfect weather to roast marshmallows. The property is expansive with plenty of area to walk around , observe the fall foliage and sit by the lake. We didn't bring life jackets so we didn't use the lake but we lived being down there! The owner was very easy to deal with and pleasantly responsive with our small requests like getting into house a little earlier than check in to use bathroom...we would definitely like to stay here again in a different season to enjoy the property and what it has to offer!
