The family really enjoyed the kayaks, fishing and games in the basement. Thank you for sharing your property.

We had a wonderful stay! The well stocked home was perfectly clean and ready. The fish weren’t biting but the whole family had a fun time out on the lake. Campfires each night for s’mores or pie irons. We aren’t familiar with horses so we didn’t know the near by equestrian campground was going to be upset with our bike ride when we were off exploring! Oops! Won’t make that mistake again. Owners were great with communicating what we needed. Great place to stay!

Nice location, beautiful home, nice lake....it had everything we needed and then some. Great cabin for families with kiddos of all ages!

Had a wonderful time. Cabin is beautiful and was wonderfully decorated for Christmas. We were hoping to do more winter outdoors activities, but the weather did not cooperate. We did, however enjoy our time together playing games as a family and watching some Christmas movies.
The cabin is definitely off the beaten path, but we loved the secluded little neighborhood.
The cabin had wifi, but cell service in the area is very limited.

Peaceful walks, comfortable accommodations, family competitions. This made for a great experience for all.

Beyond expectation. Anticipated all of our needs plus.

The house was lovely - clean, inviting, & well appointed especially in the kitchen. Plenty of outside space - perfect porch, fire pit, & small dock. Garage access was nice with dogs as a staging and clean up spot before entering the house. Nice walking/hiking options both around the small neighborhood and the vast trail system that is steps from the door which allows endless outdoor exploration. Good location for day trips - ~30 mins to Gaylord & under 1 hr to Mackinaw City/Island & Alpena. Lastly, but critical, the primary bed was comfortable. There was even a massive dog bed that our pups took full advantage of. All in all, the space felt like home.

House was very clean and cozy and the beds are super comfy. Great variety of kitchen wares and of great quality also, which isn’t common, so thank you for that! Of course the game room is always a hit. The location is sweet if you like being out in the boonies and want to unplug and go exploring.

The house was lovely. We stayed with another couple, there was plenty of space for the four of us.
We loved the rustic decor, so cute!! We had a great time staying in this house, It was clean, and set up well to cook at the house.
We enjoyed the kayaks, we took several relaxing strolls around the lake.
The corn hole game was a nice bonus to get outside and enjoy the weather.
We would definitely recommend this house.

The property was clean, well appointed, and nicely laid out for our group. The second living room was the perfect place to have the early-rising children sit and watch tv while allowing others to sleep. It was obvious that the owners care about their guests' experience. My only complaint with the rental was the privacy. Since vrbo can't list the addresses prior to booking, you rely on the accuracy of the online photos and other guests' reviews. Upon pulling up, I was immediately disappointed in the lack of privacy. Standing on the deck you can see 10 other houses, and directly into the next door neighbor's living room. Neighbors were walking across the lawn to talk to each other. We spent the bulk of the time trail riding (access to trails was excellent) so this was ok because we weren't around all that much, but when we were, we opted to mostly stay indoors for this reason. I will say that the next door neighbor was friendly. I just wish the listing more accurately reflected the home's position relative to other homes, as we would not have booked it if it did and we wont book it again for this reason. I will also add for those looking to ride the trails - the owner had their pontoon on a trailer in the driveway, so between the two trucks with trailers and 2 side-by-sides we brought up, the driveway was packed full. There was access to the garage, which was a big bonus for when it rained. It's a great house and the owner's obviously care, just be aware of the above

This property was immaculately clean and fully stocked with everything. Avery Lake is beautiful and quiet; we enjoyed going out on kayaks and paddle boards. Everything in the home was user friendly; the light switches were labeled and there were directions to all of the appliances and tv’s, etc. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of blankets, pillows and even box fans in each room. We enjoyed a couple of fires at the fire pit and the young adults enjoyed playing ping pong in the basement. This was a great place to gather and relax as a family; we already booked our return stay next year! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us!!!

My wife and I vacationed this year with our youngest son who is home from college, our Daughter and her husband, and our 2 year old Granddaughter , we wanted a chance to get away with them before she has our 2nd Grandchild this August so the timing was perfect. We had an awesome time, we fished from the canoe as well as from the dock, went to some antique stores , were able to go to a very nice local beach that Michelle recommended to us as well. We did have on and off rain for most of the week so we were not able to have a fire outside but still had a wonderful time. We finished off with a movie and popcorn night the night before we left. Thank you again Michelle, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay! Finch / Bishop families.

We enjoyed our stay at this house. It had everything you need for one week with four adult kids. The game room was perfect for rainy days (ping pong, shuffleboard, air hockey, darts, and many board games available). The kayaks provided were excellent and a short paddle to Avery Lake. The lake is very quiet and great to see loons, frogs, tons of birds, turtles, and great fishing. We caught several bass. The location is down an unpaved road, quite secluded but beautiful... we saw deer, turtles, raccoons, and a porcupine. The place was perfect for day trips to Gaylord, Alpena, Presque Island, and even Mackinac Island, all around 1 to 1 1/2 hours away. A grocery store was close by in Lewiston (family fare). We loved our stay.

Well we had an amazing time once again at this incredible property. Everything from my house, to the amenities, to the lake and nature is absolutely perfect. We did some fishing…the girls caught a big Bass and a big Blue Gill….there was two families of Geese the girls named one Debra and Chuck but don’t remember the all the other names. Lol. We had a bonfire every nigh with s’mores, had a comfy, cozy bed to sleep in,…then coffee on the deck overlooking the water in the morning. So relaxing. Great night’s rest, and a great way to start the day! We didn’t want to leave. No need to bring extras…everything you’ll need is there. The game room in the basement was perfect for the kids…they’re own little nook. Lots of games too. We did some cooking and didn’t have to bring a thing…it was all there. Michelle is an amazing host who makes everything as smooth as possible, and will get with you in a heartbeat if you have a question or need help with something. This property is surrounded by state land so there’s lots of things to do outside and also not far from Lewiston or Atlanta either direction if you need to run into town. Overall, this was our second stay, and it felt like home when we walked in. We will be going back next year!

Very enjoyable long weekend spent at this property. Beautiful lake and surrounding scenery. This location is well off the beaten path so great place to go to get away from it all. Would recommend to friends and family.

We had a fun time at the cabin with family. It was a bit cold and snowy to do too much outside, but we played board games, and shuffleboard and reconnected as a family. The owner's were very nice and made sure the driveway was free from snow. Thanks for letting us stay!

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful cabin over the Christmas holiday. The setting was wonderful. We had plenty of snow for a white Christmas. We stayed warm and cozy in the well-kept cabin. We had everything we needed to feel at home. Every possible need was considered by the owners, and they were very accommodating and willing to work with us to make a last minute change. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again.

When you enter this home it is clearly evident that the owners take great pride in their property. You can tell the cabin was built by craftsman and is well maintained. The home is tastefully decorated in an outdoor theme. It sits on a beautiful setting over looking the lake. Clean, warm, and wonderful hosts.

Everything was clean and nicely stocked. The kids enjoyed the games downstairs on our rainy day. The location allowed us to visit both sides of the state easily. We would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay. It was super clean and had everything we needed. We didn’t need all 5 beds, but it was nice knowing in case we want to stay again and have more people. We chose this place to have walking access to the miles and miles of state land across the street from the neighborhood. It was perfect.

This cabin has it all! Separate living spaces, games and activities galore. Quick trip to mackinac Island. It's decorated very tastefully and has everything you will need. Thanks for a great vacation!

This is the most thoughtfully appointed VRBO I have stayed in yet, and I have stayed in many. The owners provided everything you would need and more. Small things like having ample space to store your food and clothes, to having hooks to hang your hats and gear, plenty of storage containers for your leftovers, and a fully stocked kitchen with sharp knives are things most owners overlook and why I appreciate them so much. The property was exactly as advertised. We caught lots of fish from the dock and enjoyed a paddle out to the lake. It was so peaceful and quiet. We spent a few days fly fishing on the Au Sable and driving the scenic river route into Oscoda. We even made friends with the neighbors... everyone was very friendly. Thank you for sharing your home, and for being dog friendly. We all had a great time!

Excellent response time with owner. Neighbors very helpful. Little disappointed with dog hair on outside furniture and couch. I do understand though hard to get rid of all dog hair.

Our stay was awesome it brought back memories of the movie "On Golden Pond."
The house and all the amenities were perfect.
Avery lake may well be the cleanest clearest lake I have ever been on and I have been on many lakes over the years.
Thank you for sharing your property.

This rental was perfect for our three generations to get away and enjoy our time together. Having enough space to spread out and do our own thing was awesome, too! The house had everything we needed and more. We grilled out for most of our meals and enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle boards. We brought two fishing boats with us and tied up in the channel. We caught several nice bass - one that was 21”! All of the kids caught fish, roasted marshmallows for s’mores and enjoyed movie nights. I definitely recommend this rental. Thanks, Michelle!

This is the second time now weve stayed in this amazing house on Avery Lake. The house is immaculate. It has everything you'd ever need. From environmentally friendly laundry detergent, to board games, to paddle boat and kayaks. This time up my 8 yr old daughter learned to kayak! My wife started with her in the canal then eventually they made their way out to the shallows of the main lake. She will never forget that. We also rented a pontoon for the week from twin lakes marina in Lewiston. It was worth every penny. We explored the little island, had campfires, and played air hockey and shuffleboard. We did it all! Thank you so much for sharing your slice of heaven with us!
