The house was nice and the location was convient to Rainbow Bay. We were there just as the rainy season started. The only challe ge was the flying termite invasion a few days before we left. Because we were told "that's island life" my husband cleaned the room and we moved all of our things into the master bedroom. I cleaned the rest of the bugs in the living area, washed the bedding and we finished our vacation bug free. We would stay again because of the location and the pool!

Our second time in Eleuthera and we were excited to stay on the Caribbean side. This location was very convenient and the views from the back porch are unmatched. The pool was amazing, clean, and perfect after a long day at the beach. The kitchen was well stocked, bedrooms were very comfortable, AC units worked very well, and bathrooms were great.
I would want others to know that there were only very minimal startup supplies. Although this is not expected, just consider packing some household basics like dish soap, toilet paper, and paper towels to limit planning grocery runs.
Overall we would be honored to stay at Sea Grapes anytime we come back to Eleuthera. Beautiful, everything you need, and that pool made our trip absolutely blissful.

Very adequate for our needs and great location. Only exception was the sense that the photos when booking did not have a rail at the pool, giving the idea of an "infinity view." We felt that the rail obstructed the incredible view, and that perhaps 2 captain's chairs would allow those seated to enjoy unobstructed beauty. Also, we had some delay from Bahamian Immigration because we did not have a contact phone number for the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you.

Beautiful quiet location with an incredible view. The deck and pool area was large with 3 comfortable lounge chairs and other patio furniture. There was a charcoal grill. Just need to buy charcoal and lighter fluid. The inside pictures of the house were exact. The beds were hard to our liking but we made do. Maybe have a foam topper in the closet for those who like a softer bed. WiFi was fine. If you have 4 coffee drinkers know the pot is small so you’ll need to make many pots. Nothing was left by prior guest except for 2 pepper shakers so you will need to bring or buy supplies. Host does leave 1 paper towel roll and 1 roll of TP per bathroom. Big Rock groceries down the street was great and another one in James Cistern. Jimmy's liquor in Governors Harbor had reasonable liquor and beer prices.
The pool was awesome, clean and refreshing. There were several floats which were great. We caught fish right in front and saw people down the way snorkeling and kayaking. Saw over 20 turtles and a couple of dolphins. Bring bug spray as No See Ums (sand fleas) visit you when the wind dies. Nothing new to the Bahamas. 😊
Melisa was great when VRBO screwed up the cost when we changed our days and fixed it for us. She and Briana promptly answered our many questions. Very pleasant to work with.
We would definitely rent Sea Grapes again! A very quiet relaxing property!

Sea Grapes was the perfect place for us to spend our romantic 43rd anniversary. Going out on the deck watching the sunrise and ending our day watching the sunset with a glass of wine. The cottage had everything we needed. It was private, and centrally located on the island allowing us to explore the many beautiful beaches north and south. Will certainly return to Sea Grapes.
4.7
Very clean ,fit our needs. The pool was necessary and very clean. The only suggestion is to get new bed pillows, the ones we had were very hard.
4.7
Nice location, easy to find with the directions given. Nice views, quiet.
Things that could be updated…
Towels, bed linens.
Overall we had a nice stay.
4.7
Location and setting is amazing! Snorkeling & cool rock pools right out of the back door. Perfect setup! We definitely enjoyed our first trip to Eleuthera, and this home was a big part of it!!!!!

Booked this trip last minute before Xmas. House was simple and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Location was perfect. Will be back in the summer to enjoy the pool since the weather wasn’t cooperating:))

Was a little put off we had to get rid of our garbage and my friend and wife ran out of toilet paper without a spare. When we got there another couple were and let themselves in and put there bags inside to find out they were in the wrong place. All the pictures in the ad showed place was painted yellow but when we got there is was painted blue. Still had a nice stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Sea Grapes. It was simple and very clean. It was nice to sit by the pool in the afternoon and relax. The southern exposure was great. This is a very quiet area of north central Eleuthera. We will consider staying here again.

Sea Grape Cottage was just what my husband and I needed!! So relaxing!! The home was clean and had all the amenities we needed. It was great to come back from the beach and refresh by the pool with the beautiful view. Our first visit staying at Sea Grapes, but won’t be our last!

We stayed at Sea Grapes for the first time and had a wonderful time. We absolutely loved having the pool and the stargazing at night was incredible. The house, though not new was immaculately clean and the kitchen we had everything we needed to prepare our own meals. The only recommendation I have is to add a mattress topper to the bed. It was very firm and I have a bad back. But that’s just my personal preference. Others may like a really firm bed. Again, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the house and the location near Rainbow Beach is awesome. Great snorkeling there!
4.7
Great place equipped with everything you need. The house has a well equipped kitchen, beach towels, beach chairs and pool floaters. The deck is huge and the pool is lovely.
The host was so kind to let us leave our luggage while waiting to check in.
The view is amazing. Great snorkeling with tons of fish, rays, turtles right outside.
4.7
Sea Grapes is a great house! The only issues we had were caused by Mother Nature. The hosts were wonderful and very responsive!
4.7
The gem of this house is the view and access to a pool. Very quiet neighborhood and nice neighbors. Rainbow beach is a short walk and if you like to snorkel can find large schools of fish. All worked well in the house. Some things showing their age, like the fridge. Governors Harbor is about 30 min away with a greater selection of stores and restaurants.
4.7
Your host is extremely responsive and helpful, even set up a last minute car rental for me! Your on-line streaming services work seemlessly, no problem with wi-fi. Close to a quaint store for all you'll need. Beautiful location and don't miss out on exploring the other beaches on the island!

We traveled as 2 couples and this home is ideal for 4 people. We each had our own bathroom and bedroom and then a central living space. The outdoor living space in phenomenal! Water views are stunning! Pool immaculate. Everything worked great, washer and dryer, AC, water pressure/heat. All communication prior and during our trip was prompt. FYI If you bring toilet paper from home, I suggest nothing more plush than Scott’s. I brought Charmin and it was too much 😉 Highly recommend Sea Grapes! Pizza at Rainbow Inn was great and priced appropriately. Enjoy!

This property is incredible! We stayed here with our 12-year-old daughter. She loved the very clean pool! We enjoyed the incredible veranda! We loved the ocean views, with the sunrise on one side, and the sunset on the other. We were able to swim in the ocean out in front of the property as well! Such a magical experience!

This property was pretty much in the middle of the island, we rented a car for our 11 day stay and went sightseeing several days. The days that we just needed a little rest, we stayed at the house and chilled in the pool and laid in the sun! The house was very clean and plenty of towels in case we needed them. The host was quick to jump on any question we may have had. If and when we come back to this island, we will definitely rent this house again! Be sure if you are going to eat at home you get your groceries before 6 or 7 pm. We brought floats and took them wherever we went as we explored many beaches and would take the floats and just lay in the water. Ten Bay Beach, Gaulding Cay and Rainbow Bay (closest to the house) were among our favorites. We found the Atlantic side was a little rough waters at times, but beautiful nonetheless. Beautiful Island, just what i was looking for this trip. Beaches weren't crowded, no noisy kids at the pool, just total relaxation. We normally do All inclusive, but this time I wanted very little people and that is what we got. To go out on the porch in the evening was amazing, no ambient light, you could easily see all of the stars and hear nothing but waves. So glad I found this property!!!!
4.7
We very much enjoyed the property. We did have to pick up a fair amount of trash outside when we arrived - perhaps from the party that stayed prior to us, but that was a minor inconvenience. The view is great, the pool is great, and the home had everything we needed. Two of of lounge chairs by the pool were broken and unusable when we arrived as well, but we could still enjoy the pool. We would recommend the property to anyone interested.
4.7
We absolutely loved the view looking out over the sea from the deck. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets! The pool was ideal - thoroughly refreshing. We appreciated the reliable AC and fans and bathrooms with plenty of space. The location was quite good - close to the airport and easy access to both ends of the island. Little stores nearby had groceries and drinks, and we had excellent meals at several restaurants over the week.
The Challenges: please be aware the sand flies (midges or "no-see-ums") are a serious problem. We've traveled in some 60 countries and haven't been as chewed up this! Yes we used deet and other remedies. These flies are in everything: cars, stores, and unlike in Belize they don't just come out at dusk - they are out all the time. The best relief was diving into salt water - it took a week for the intense itching to subside.
The other major challenge is the rental car situation. Read all reviews/blogs carefully as indeed Eleuthera does things completely differently than any other place we've been. We were given a 10-year old car with leaking wheels, no washer fluid (yes it rained), it smelled and ultimately died leaving us temporarily stranded on a northern road. Our property hosts were gracious in calling us, exploring options and making sure we were ok. But truth be told, all over the island everyone blames the holiday, or blames other tourists, or says "that's the way it is". No follow-through, genuine compassion and even some outright dishonesty at many businesses on the island.
The 4 stars above are for the beautiful cottage by the water, but our experience on the island, aside from excellent snorkeling, was 2 stars. If you want nature we'd suggest Guadeloupe, for friendliness definitely Aruba, for peace and quiet Culebra, and for atmosphere/food Dominican Republic. We were celebrating an important anniversary. It's disappointing that Eleuthera was such a mess, despite the lovely views and sun.

This property was not deluxe but it certainly served our needs. It was very clean and had great views. A few things needed some attention (the towel rack in the main bedroom kept falling off the wall.til my husband fixed it..The can opener did not work at all) . We did not report either to the owners. Overall the place was what I expected. The pool was great and very clean.
4.7
Perfect for two couples. Waterfront, plenty to see within a twenty five minute drive. Big Rock grocery about a three minute drive. Only issue were some cracked tiles in one of the bedrooms which the housekeeper said was going to be repaired. Would stay again.
4.7
This was our first time staying at this home. It was clean, cool, cozy and had amazing views of the ocean (the pool was a plus). There is only one thing that we would change and that is the sofa which was very uncomfortable. Apart from that it was a great stay and We will definitely come again.
4.7
That is why we come back here....the location, nice breezes, minimal bugs, wide panoramic views, refreshing pool, very near a really great beach in Rainbow Bay. No grill, no lounging chairs. You want to spend all your time outside so comfy chairs would be nice! House is clean with few accoutrements.

We enjoyed our stay at Sea Grapes.
The check in process was extremely easy, and Briana promptly responded to questions. We ended up needed to extend our trip by one day, and we were graciously accommodated. The house and pool were very clean. Rainbow Bay was close, as described. I would suggest that the dock be repaired or steps into the water be chiseled out so one could access the water for snorkeling right in front of the dock. That is the only improvement I can think of. We had a great time.
4.7
Beautiful View!!!
Owners were extremely responsive to our questions prior to and during our stay! Perfect location, exactly as described in posting. Beds and couch were not the most comfortable, but there were plenty of linen and towels. The kitchen had everything we needed! Would recommend the home to friends and family!

Stay was amazing. House was in a great central location. I would book it again.

Excellent Accommodations with privacy and a pool
Quiet location, clean, well appointed and maintained. Nice living space overlooking the Caribbean with functional kitchen, two comfortable beds, two clean bathrooms with showers. Snorkeling gear and beach chairs provided were a big plus. Wrap around deck with picnic table and multiple chairs. Well maintained somewhat large pool. Grocery & Liquor store only a short drive. Ten minute walk or 2 minute drive to Rainbow Beach. Palapas on beach with nice snorkeling in shallow water to the south.
Very few nearby restaurants but since we traveled south to other beaches, we found a few nice places. Highly recommend Ten Bay, Double Bay and Receivers beach. Dinner at the Sunset Inn north of Governor's harbor was great. Pizza at Big Rock was awesome with great service by Manda. Rainbow Inn was expensive, employees were very accommodating and food and drinks were tasty. Unfortunately, something was tainted and we both became ill.
The only drawback regarding the property was lack of potable water and the only notice of this was some scribbling on the house rules on the fridge. These should be updated and the no potable water notice more pronounced.
Would visit again.

Paradise
House was very clean, only complaint was furniture in living room very uncomfortable for watching tv at night.

Oceanfront in Rainbow Bay
2 bedroom right on the Caribbean. Big bedrooms and bathrooms. Private pool.

Quiet, private but it is a cottage
Enjoy the location - fantastic views including sensational sunsets nearly every evening. Very quiet and private with easy water access for some really nice for swimming and decent snorkeling (not great). Relaxing neighborhood with easy access to most amenities - choice of restaurants and groceries just a short drive away.
The house is simple but functional. We had to give the house once over clean and sort out our own drinking water supply. Once we did that we were able to cook and had the coal grill fired up on several nights.
What is apparent is the lack of any investment to maintain the house. Yes they have a tv but that's about it - bring all your own subscription unless you like watching reruns of Hells Kitchen - the original series. We had 1 glass in the house, otherwise we were drinking from coffee mugs or plastic. Water collects around the patio when it rains - about an inch deep right outside the door - a squingy would have been helpful. Which reminds me: bugs. They are everywhere and the patio is no exception. Local tip: put baby oil on before the sun goes down. Hugely reduced the bites when nothing else seemed to work.
The internet is functional except for 1-2 hours each evening when it grinds to a halt.
In summary, if you looking for low key privacy to swim, chill and relax without any frills (including glassware or tv service) then you'll enjoy this spot. We did but not sure we could do it again.

We enjoyed our two week stay at Sea Grapes. House was as pictured. Good central location. Nice view from the porch and the pool was nice to cool off in the afternoons. The house is very private surrounded by greenery. No seeums we’re not too bad since we had a nice breeze most of the time. The house is adequately stocked to prepare some meals if you desire to eat in and there are restaurants within a short driving distance if you want to eat out. Bethel boys right down the road has a great BBQ plate on Saturdays served under a canopy in their front yard. We also purchased Grouper and shrimp at Island farms. We bought fresh lobster from the local fishermen in Tarpum Bay. Plenty of beautiful beaches and sightseeing things to do. We recommend Sea Grapes for your stay.
