About this cabin rental

Welcome to 3 Horned Deer Hangout, with over 1500 square feet of living space and 3.7 acres to explore, it is considered a six-person cabin. The original cabin was built in 1930, with 2 additions and modern updates. Beautiful hardwood floors have been maintained in the living, bedrooms and hallway areas. One bedroom has a king bed, one bedroom has queen bed, there is also a queen sofa sleeper in the living room, several couches and a queen air mattress. There is a modernized bathroom, with an amazing shower! Kitchen is fully furnished, all you need to bring is the food. All towels and linens are provided to make your stay easy and comfortable. New outdoor features added in 2019 are concrete steps, sidewalk and a patio to watch the beautiful Black Hills sunsets. 2021 outdoor updates stamped concrete deck with fire table to enjoy the cool evenings. The property also includes a single car garage for your personal use. Our cabin is located 1 mile from Deadwood, 12 miles from Sturgis, 19 miles from Spearfish and is the perfect place for your Black Hills get away. Our property contains a seasonal creek, which hosts many varieties of wildlife. Deer frequently visit our yard and an occasional woodchuck will wonder through too! If you need to stay in touch with family and friends our cabin is equipped with WiFi. But we guarantee that the minute you sit down on our over-sized deck, all your troubles will melt away.

This is our third year staying at this property. Every year gets better. Very clean and comfortable. Privacy in the back yard to enjoy the fire pit during happy hour and the morning coffee. We had a couple really warm days and the AC kept up just fine. Also had a chance of hail so the garage was a blessing. The owners were in town so we were blessed to meet them. Wonderful people that truly care about our experience. Easy check in and no hassle to check out. Already planning for next year. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Feels like staying at a friend’s cabin when they are away versus a dedicated rental. Lots of blankets, dishes, seating, personal items, etc. (Not ADA friendly with floor transitions throughout the home). Worked great for us!

I loved this property. It is very close to Deadwood, yet has a secluded feel. It has a classic cabin vibe with modern amenities. Just two of us stayed here, and it was perfect for us. I would definitely stay here again.

I have never rented a cabin before until this one.. I booked this cabin for a mini birthday get away and i was absolutely stunned when we arrived! The location was perfect for a deadwood weekend.. When we arrived we were in awe at how beautiful the scenery was! The property was clean and very well cared for. The check in process was easy for someone who is inexperienced with b&b! Would highly recommend to anyone ☺️

The property was as advertised and pictured. The owners were very great - checking in on us and quick to answer questions. Was so impressed with how well stocked the home was - everything we needed or wanted. Really made staying here easy! Loved the location - so close and easy access to everything we wanted to see and do. The cabin itself was cozy and comfortable. The outdoor spaces and having a garage for our car were all wonderful. We enjoyed our stay at the cabin, it was clean and full of supplies. It's warm and inviting and decorated perfect for a nice relaxing stay. The location is great, just outside of Deadwood and close to Sturgis. Great communication with the owners! There was plenty of parking, it was nice to have a garage to park our motorcycles in at night. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a convenient, clean and comfortable place to stay.

This is our second year staying at this cabin. The communication with the owners was amazing. They responded right away to any questions or concerns we had. Everything worked as it should. It is only a couple minutes from downtown Deadwood which was an added bonus. We enjoyed the seclusion of the backyard every morning for coffee and evening for happy hour. We would highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dean and Teresa’s cabin. It’s very well stocked for cooking and grilling. Our family enjoyed playing corn hole in the back yard and my boys loved exploring in the three acres behind the house. I would highly recommend staying here!!

Great location to enjoy the beautiful northern hills area! We were looking for a comfortable place that was close to Deadwood/Lead and the recreational trails so we could explore all day and relax at night. The cabin was warm and welcoming and was even decorated for fall. The hosts were very responsive to our questions and ensured we had a nice stay. We were concerned about parking but there was plenty of space to park two pickups and two trailers. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a convenient, clean, and comfortable place to stay!

We could not have stayed at a more perfect cabin. Since this was our first time staying at a VRBO, we went shopping and used our things even though the cabin was well stocked. The washer & dryer was a huge amenity. The WiFi/Internet was not good for my husband to do work, but it’s understandable.

Expectations were high for a return trip to the Black Hills after many years of snowmobiling. Our Son and his Wife were equally excited as they had not been there. The lodging exceeded those expectations and then some. We rode trails for two days and went sightseeing the last day. We found it so comfortable inside and outside the lodge that we only went uptown one night to see the lights and check out a brewery. Whenever we return we will reach out to stay again! We were in Deadwood to race the ISOC National Snocross event. The cabin was the perfect location only a mile from the track and away from the hustle and bustle of town. The beds were amazing best sleep we have had on the race tour thus far! The shower was also amazing!! We will definitely be back !

Our vacation was not exactly what we were expecting due to a surprise snow storm that dumped a foot and a half of snow. Our plans of hiking and sight seeing became impossibilities, but this cabin was unbelievably comfortable, warm and homey. We enjoyed watching movies and playing board games with our 15 yr old son, stayed in and cooked in the well stocked kitchen, watched the wildlife (turkeys and deer) that wandered around the property. When we were able to get out, the cabin is just outside of Deadwood and an easy drive to Sturgis and Spearfish where we hit antique shops and breweries. Thank you so much for letting us use your beautiful cabin!

We came to South Dakota to attend the Black Hills Corvette Classic. The location of the cabin is absolutely perfect. It's so close to everything and very easy to get to. The amenities are amazing and the hosts are very thoughtful in providing you just about anything you would ever need for your stay. Dean and Teresa thought of everything. We especially loved the outdoor fire pit in the evenings after riding around the Black Hills all day. The garage to house the Corvette at night and the laundry to take home all clean clothes was just icing on the cake. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

We really loved the location . Close to Deadwood, but far enough from town to enjoy the scenery and wildlife . Abundant deer and turkey near the property . All the convienances of home . Our only negative is the never ending construction traffic . Dust control would be a huge plus to cut down on the gravel dust . But not a big deal if you just expect it .

This is without a doubt one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed at and we’ve stayed at many. It was very clean, well stocked and homey. Everything was well marked. The only negatives and they’re minor are the noise from construction vehicles during the day. We weren’t there in the daytime for the most part and only streaming tv but lots of cards and games to play. We didn’t come here to watch tv so wasn’t all that big a deal but may have been if the weather was lousy. Convenient to all you are here to see. About midway between Deadwood and Sturgis. All in all we would recommend this rental without reservation. Stay here folks, I promise you, you’ll be glad you did!

My husband and I really enjoyed our time at 3 Horned Deer Hangout. Dean & Teresa were great hosts, providing all we needed at the cabin and also touched base with us after our arrival to see if we had any questions. The cabin was a mix of old and new. Very clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend!
