About this house rental
This beautiful newly built home is located in the quiet residential University Park neighborhood. Located within walking distance from a diverse offering of restaurants, bars, shops, and parks and only a short jaunt to the University of Portland makes this house a convenient place to stay while in Portland. It was thoughtfully designed with cathedral ceilings that allow for an ample amount of light. The light is easily filtered with motor operated blinds. When sleeping in the upstairs bedroom, you will awake to sounds of a variety of birds that dwell in the surrounding canopy of trees.
This is a 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bath home with a separate gated entrance and private garden. It is fully furnished with all new appliances, cookware, and linens. It has a washer/ dryer, air conditioning, and a dual fuel stove. This 800 sq ft home has been tastefully decorated and is very inviting. It is located 1/2 mile from the University of Portland and 1 mile from the quaint neighborhood of St. Johns with a variety of restaurants, cafes, pubs, and parks. The beautiful St. Johns Bridge and Cathedral Park are just a 1-mile walk from the home.
The nearest grocery store New Seasons is located just three blocks down the street and McKenna Park is just one block behind the home. Fred Meyer shopping is located just four blocks away
There is plenty of on-street parking on N. Macrum, located just steps from the gated entrance in front of the property that it sits behind at 7204 N. Macrum Ave.
The property is located just three blocks from the TriMet bus stops which connect to the city's Max light rail line which can transport you to all parts of the city.
We have two cats, Benny the grey tabby and Donatello the chocolate Siamese, they may hop the fence to greet you. We also have a sweet rescue Great Pyrenees named Bella; she may welcome you with a fearful bark. She also may appreciate a tossed dog treat over the fence before she goes to hide from you.
We are often available to welcome you to our property and can assist you with questions or needs that you may have during your stay.

This is our third stay at Jim and Julie's guest house and that says it all. They are always so welcoming and accommodating and the house is always spotless. The location is perfect for visiting our daughter at U of Portland. This time they allowed us a later check out time due to a delayed flight home. We will be back!

Great place to stay near other family members who live in that area and wonderful when there is other family staying with us there also! And both of them had to work online across the country and it worked out very well for both of them and the extra space upstairs made it even easier for them! Very comfortable beds and furniture> I am sure if we used the kitchen more it would have been very good also. And my favorite robe is there also!!! We do VRBO frequently and this is one of or favorite from all over the country!

The house is LOVELY! We were welcomed with wine & chocolates. The house is quiet, cozy, well stocked and warmly decorated. It’s so close to the Univ of Portland. My husband and I and our two children (well adults really since they’re both in college) fit comfortably and slept well. There are great coffee shops & restaurants nearby. I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for 3 months at this comfortable home to visit our family in the immediate area and we loved everything about it! We were both very sad to leave when our time.was up. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit or family. This is a super clean home with a fully equipped kitchen, two comfortable beds, two bathrooms and a private patio. It has everything needed and then some to feel at home. The area is great for walking, with beautiful views. There are also two grocery stores nearby, with one being a New Seasons with great seasonal produce, fresh meats and fish, and also plenty of local beer and wine. There are also many delicious restaurants and food carts nearby. Our hosts, Jim and Julie were so awesome. They are both super friendly and truly want to make sure that you are comfortable and that all of your needs are met. This is a gem, and by far the best place to stay in Portland!

This location was so close to all of the things we wanted to do in Portland, we will be trying to stay again in the future. Perfect size for 2 adults and 2 kids, clean , cozy and so accommodating! Thank you for the treats!

Jim & Julie are outstanding hosts, ever responsive, but not overbearing. The complementary wine, chocolates, etc. made the tiny house feel like a boutique hotel, but without neighbors on the other side of the wall! The decor and furnishings were luxurious, too. We are a family of four good size adults (tallest 6' 4") with luggage and groceries, so two nights in this petite home was just right for our needs. A longer stay would be just perfect if you have two smaller kids.
Thank you, Julie & Jim!

We had such a great time staying here! Not only were the owners welcoming and friendly, they always responded quickly. Hands down one of the best and well stocked rentals we have stayed in! We will definitely be staying here for our Portland trips now on. Plus the dogs were an extra bonus.

We stayed here specificity because it is close to the start line for the bike ride Reach the Beach Oregon. However, we would come back just to stay for no reason at all! It’s the perfect get-away. Clean, has every amenity thoughtfully provided, the cutest little house ever, comfortable beds, and the owners are so kind and friendly! If you need/want to stay in the area, we highly recommend!

Jim and Julie go out of their way to make you feel welcome, you could not ask for better hosts. Their small home is such a well-thought out space with everything you need for a home away from home. Our architect friend who visited us during our stay was impressed. We plan to return.
