About this house rental

Welcome to Santa Monica! I'm renting out a spare room in a Victorian Manor near all of the major tourist destinations. Originally built in 1907, this beautiful Victorian home sits in a prime location in the heart of Santa Monica. The spot is perfectly located a 5 minute drive to the beach, 8 minute drive to downtown Santa Monica, a 10 minute drive to the famous Venice Beach, and and a 3 block drive to the 10 freeway entrance to get anywhere else.

I've included all of the amenities you can ever need for your stay. The room includes a private secure entrance, private bath, queen size bed, all of the kitchen amenities you'll need while on Vacation, and all of the supplies and toiletries you'll need for your stay. I live in the main house and can quickly answer any questions or get you any extra toiletries or supplies you might need.

I'll be on site and present throughout your stay if you ever need anything.
The room can have up to 3 people stay at a time.
I can provide permits for one vehicle to park during your stay.
This home-share will not be booked or rented by more than one group of visitors on any given date.

This was a perfect fit! We were in town for a concert, and it was great to be able to just walk to the Metro station to get downtown. Everything was clean and well-stocked and home-ey, and the host issued us a pass for parking on the street, which was perfect for the rental car. Hope to stop by again!

My partner and I needed an accommodation for a wedding in Santa Monica, and we were blown away by this host's setup and amenities. The care they put into making this a truly amazing place to stay made it better than staying in a hotel with comparable pricing. From the soundproofing & sound machine, to the full coffee bar and dining area, sunscreen and sunglasses if you forgot, parking pass, a full bathtub.... (not to mention the games, instruments, activities and California travel books). Clean, tidy, and super prepared host. I would give them 6 stars if I could!

At first things seemed to go fine. First night quiet and peaceful. Second night (Fri) banging noises against shared walls until 11:00p.m. Sat day and night large group party in front yard and house. I tried to go to sleep later than I wanted to (10:00 pm) hoping noise would subside, but loud talking (despite closing windows) and then loud banging (despite ear plugs) continued until 1:00 a.m. Host should have communicated the party to allow me to rebook. Super inconsiderate. The room also smelled moldy. Other than that it was fine. What I paid for 3 nights including 1 night of crappy sleep and 1 night of awful sleep was not worth it.

Very private, well equipped, cozy room. 15 minute walk to the 3rd street promenade. The bed and bedding was very comfortable and smelled clean. Plenty of coffee and tea choices to use in the updated Keurig. Free parking and great location! I will be coming here again!

We came to town for a wedding. Perfect location. Easy checkin & checkout. Host has thought of so many extra items for the guest. We would definitely stay there again in the future. Only suggestion would be to have some Solar pathway lights leading to the entry gate.

I frequent LA a lot to visit family and friends and have to say that Blake's place is one of the nicest, most well-appointed rooms I've stayed. It truly has everything you could ever need (including things you haven't thought of) and is so convenient to central Santa Monica and the beach. Communication was amazing and it was great being in such a fantastic location for a few days. I'll definitely be back!

Very easy check in and great communication with the owner. While the interior was clean and quaint, there was a lot of trash on the street where you park. While a lot of folks might appreciate various scents in the room, such as vanilla and cherry, it was overwhelming and I had to place those items outside or in the closet. While it was indicated that you might hear people talking through the walls, we certainly did, along with fans, and various appliances that went on all night. We both didn't sleep very well because of it. Walking in and seeing ear plugs by the bed, definitely shows the owner knows it is noisy. But, thanks for those! We did enjoy sitting up front at the patio table. The best part about this unit, is the location.

My husband and I stayed for a few nights at Blake’s cozy and comforting space. The room was full of extremely thoughtful and special touches like individual packs of sunscreen and everything that you need to take to a day at the beach. We were comfortable and worry free. The location was perfect! Gorgeous old street in a quiet neighborhood that felt safe. From the exterior, the house looks really historic. The room was very clean, well-stocked, nice. For younger people, it would've been 5-stars, I'm sure. But I'm 61 years old, and I had some issues. The check-in description was a little confusing about the left "path" which was stepping stones in grass. As an older gal, dragging a suitcase across stepping stones and grass was a major bummer. One stepping stone wasn't level and I tripped on it twice. The bed was hard and maybe a little lumpy and I barely slept. The floor in the bathroom was very slippery, some kind of tile, and had a slippery mat on it. I was afraid to walk in there without shoes, which meant I wasn't able to take a shower. So for me, no sleep + no shower + tripping = 2 stars. Sorry!

This place was so well stocked with everything you may need. I forgot my toothpaste and toothbrush- there was one there. Everything you need for shower and hair. Ice chest for the beach and sunglasses, too. It's small as described, but very comfortable. The safety of a place is very important to me- excellent on that. Great coffee choices. Only complaint is scented natural oil- better than a plug in but no scent is best (I did not make that a request as I booked, my bad). The host was instantly avail.

Easy to locate and check in was simple. Everything is just as pictured. It’s really cute! Blake stocked so many toiletries! Also ear plugs and eye masks. The only noise I heard was someone walking on hardwood floors in the room beside me. Nothing bothersome. It is walkable to the beach. The location was perfect! I would recommend and would stay again!

This space was perfect for my travels. It was a spacious bedroom with a small bathroom, perfect for my trip to California! The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe, but was also very conveniently located to all the main spots in Santa Monica! It came with 2 bikes, and although they did not look like the sportiest bikes, I rode 30 miles one day - no issues! Blake was a great host and responded extremely fast to all of my questions/needs. I would definitely recommend this peaceful, quaint space for a single or couple traveling to Santa Monica!

Blake has thought of everything. Check in was seamless, the room was immaculate. He not only has coffee and everything to make it to your liking, but also take home cups for our walk around Santa Monica, condiments and bottled water in the fridge. The bathroom was spotless, he provided shampoo and soap, but also had a hair dryer and straightener that my wife appreciated. Chargers for every device, ample outlets and every light on a remote. The room temp was comfortable and the cooling fan was a perfect touch. Next time in Santa Monica we will surely be reaching out and will refer any travelers to be his guest.
