The property was perfect for our large family group. The house was very well appointed with multiple areas to cook and a large table and seating area that fit the whole family. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for our large group. Everything worked as advertised.
Plenty of on-site activities like a fire pit and games! It’s in a beautiful setting and we enjoyed walking along the river! The checkout process was also very easy. Would highly recommend for large family reunions/vacations/family gatherings.

Fabulous property on the river!
Great large spaces, multiple refrigerators. Handled 16 adults and two toddlers.
Arrived with broken oven door. Quickly fixed the next day but interrupted breakfast.oven dirty with smoking grease when turned on. Well stocked kitchen.
Description of”luxury linen not quite accurate. OK but not lux. Cabin accurately described as restic and tiny beds. One guest was 6’4”. So not very comfortable. Handrailing on the outside deck stairs is rotting and needs serious maintenance.
We might rent again but not at the price we paid.
Owner Scott was friendly, quick to respond and gifted us with local gelato when he fixed the oven.

The home is perfect for multiple ages, though my 73 year old knees did not like the stairs. I made it a habit to go out the front and around the house to get downstairs.
The river is wonderful and several of us enjoyed paddling and floating it.
The games, inside and out, kept everyone happy.
The few issues we had were quickly addressed by Scott.
We were very impressed with the kitchen appliances.
The cottage is quaint, comfortable, and complete.

to celebrate our 50th anniversary, we gathered our family together and this property was perfect. Scott was very responsive to my questions and gave very helpful suggestions and information. He went over and above when we didn't find kitchen towels, he had towels as well as treats delivered that first evening. The lodge was well stocked and all the amenities and activities provided fun for all ages. We came prepared with tubes and paddle boards and the river provided memorable experiences as well. We had a fabulous time!

Besides the amazing location, the great property, and the fantastic hosts - this place had THE BEST KITCHEN I've had at any VRBO. Very impressed with it and glad that we had all the utensils needed to make great meals and spend time together.

We had a fun family reunion time spent at this property! It had everything your family needs! Cottage was a hit for our teenagers, they were able to hang out, play games and watch movies together! Property was big and we were lucky to have snow outside, kids were able to slide down the hill on sleds, we had fire pit going to warm up. Jacuzzi was great, wish it was a little more hotter.
Definitely would want to come back for summer!

There are 2 distinct places for this site. The cottage, which is an older building that sleeps 10 max, and the lodge which is maybe 20 yds up a gentle slope and is a fairly new building. The difference between the 2 is night and day. We had the patriarchs of the family (93 and 89 yrs old) stay at the lodge along with the grand kids and great-grand kids, and it was perfect for them. At the cottage was the middle generation in the 55-70 yr old range. The cottage is rustic, only one bathroom, and is well-worn. It was cold while we were there, and with the central unit and the space heaters going, we kept it comfortable. It was ok and served its purpose as mostly just a sleeping cabin. The main action was up in the lodge where there are several bathrooms and amenities not found in the cottage. The property is in a very nice, quiet location right next to the Deschutes, and I saw otters, lots of geese, and a few deer occasionally traveling through. There was snow on the ground when we arrived, but it gradually melted during our 7 day stay. I think it would be a very different experience to be there in the summer and warmer months. All in all, we enjoyed it and the owner was responsive to my queries. Loved the hot tub which overlooks the river!

This property exceeded our expectations and was enjoyed by all of us. The young adults enjoyed the cottage on the property. Home was very well equipped with everything you needed from cooking utensils, indoors and outdoor activities as well as being close to town for those that wanted to shop or take in a sip at local breweries/wineries. Communication with host was prompt from the beginning to end with any questions I had. Would LOVE to come back. Steps from the river.

We rented the lodge and the cottage for a 3-night family reunion in September 2022. Our group was 14 adults and 11 children age 8 and under. The photos in the listing give a nicer appearance than we experienced. This is to be expected, but the cottage photos were not accurate in my opinion. This was our 7th annual family reunion and the first property we have rented that allowed pets. Our group had two small dogs and they and their owners stayed in the cottage, which was fine. But we had three other adults stay in the cottage, and though none complained, their stay was not nearly as comfortable as the guests using the lodge.
Due to the fires (Cedar Creek and a fire on Mt Bachelor that started the day of our arrival) we all spent more time indoors than we had planned. Being indoors more so exacerbated the disparity between the lodge quality and the cottage, especially since the AC in the cottage was not nearly as capable of cooling as in the lodge. Air quality improved significantly for our last full day and several from our group floated the river which was very fun.
The properties were not ready upon our designated check-in time. Turns out the contracted cleaning crew was a no show and evidently they contacted an independent contractor to come clean the places. This was one person, who did an adequate job, but he did not have the supplies to restock. Turns out the cleaning company didn’t notify the property owner (nor VRBO?). I contacted the owner and he arranged for supplies to be delivered the next day (dropped off at the front porch of the lodge), but the rather large pile of these supplies was left out in the hallway as we didn’t have access to locked storage areas.
The hot tub was filthy when we arrived and the owner was unable to get it serviced during our stay. Not having use of a clean hot tub was a disappointment and an inaccuracy of the online listing.
This was the first time my and I (the patrons) stayed in a main house with the families of our grandchildren. We used the main master suite and the lodge appears to be very well insulated, including the doors. This exceeded our expectations as noise was not a problem affecting our sleep.

We hosted employee employee training meetings at this VRBO listing, in between meetings the tranquility of the river and the scenery was beautiful and relaxing. The result was a great function.

Ideal setting for family reunion
Our multi-generation group loved staying at this amazing spot on the Deschutes. As one person said, "it's even better than it looks from the photos." There are so many different zones (inside and out) that our large group always felt comfortable.
We love to cook as a family, and there was ample space / plenty of gadgets to make cooking fun. We also loved all the games that were available. Just a terrific stay, and we'd love to come back.

So much to do!
Staying at Scott's place was absolutely wonderful. Barring a few cleanliness issues we ran into at the start, the home was perfect. There's so much space and so much to do, both inside and out. We loved hanging out in the yard and playing games, reading on the dock, eating dinner outside on the deck, and enjoying a cool morning in the hot tub. I would highly recommend staying here!

Best stay ever and excellent host
From the first communication until checkout, this was the best experience I have had with a vacation rental property. Our group was pretty big and we were very well accommodated. The house was clean and well stocked. The house is very large and extremely family friendly with a lot of activities available for all ages. The cabin that is on the property and comes with the rental is adorable and has everything needed. The host was informative and available but not nosy and intrusive. I would recommend this to anyone and would definitely use it again.

Family Thanksgiving
We enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and met our needs. We enjoyed using the outdoor fire pit and being out by the river. It would have been nice to know ahead of our stay that the cots are sized more for 3 year olds rather than the 12 yr olds who wanted to use them, but there were plenty of blankets so it all worked out fine. Scott was very responsive and helped us out with any questions we had!

Family Memories
We planned our vacation in Sunriver Dec.6-9 in hopes of lots of snow! Thought I should mention this for future guests...there was no snow. Lack of snow did not stop us from having a wonderful vacation at this Riverfront Lodge! Like so many others reviews mentioned...there is an over abundance of space for everyone. Plenty of parking also. We loved that everyone had their own bathroom stocked with LUXURIOUS towels, personal shampoo, conditioner, body wash and bar soap. The bedding was freshly laundered. This home is truly family friendly with pac-n-plays, 2 high-chairs, bunkbeds, children's dishes & children's plastic eating utensils and plenty of toys and books! As mentioned in the property description, the cottage is older, but it does have a beautiful stone pathway that leads up to the Lodge, to the river and also to the very nice firepit area. The stone pathway adds so much appeal to property. When planning a vacation, a person wonders what they should pack to prepare meals at the VRBO home. At this place, all you need to pack is the food. This kitchen has it all, including plenty of dishes and silverware, 9x13 glass baking dishes, cookie sheets & cooling rakes, hand mixer & brand new kitchenaid, measuring cups & spoons, griddle, many different sizes of frying pans (and pots & pans), 2 crockpots, espresso machine, vitamix, waffle maker and more! We loved using the new appliances in the well appointed kitchen. We did end up going to the store to get bottled water as we thought the water tasted kind of different. The homeowner is very accommodating and makes renting this home a breeze.
