Three living areas create multiple options for your family vacation. We offer an upscale home with 6 bedrooms (4 Master King Ocean view bedrooms, 1 Master Queen Bedroom, and 1 Master Bunk Bedroom with twin/twin and twin/full bunks. There is also a queen sleeper in the game room. There will be no fighting over bathrooms each bedroom has its own bathroom! There is a large open kitchen with upscale finishes.

What a fantastic home! This home is spacious, beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we needed. The kitchen had everything for our group of 14. The choice of three coffee machines kept our morning gatherings relaxed and enjoyable. The double oven came in handy with our larger meals. The living room was plenty large and comfortable for our 8 adults to be seated. The large coffee table allowed us to do two 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles (provided). The decor in the living spaces allowed us to feel very connected to the OBX.
The 6 bedrooms were large and all had ensuites. All the bedrooms were very comfortable. The grandchildren enjoyed the bunk beds and fell asleep each night exhausted from their cousin time. The recreation room on the ground floor was perfect for our ping pong tournaments. The ice machine on this floor was essential. The elevator was used sparingly but was appreciated for moving groceries, etc between floors at the beginning and end of our stay.
The sunrises at this property were spectacular! The beach and beach passes were used daily in the morning hours and the pool was completely shaded by 3p allowing for up to 8 hours of water time each day. The wild horses were on the property daily, one morning there were 10 of them sleeping just outside the property fence! It was a 30 minute drive to get off the beach, we only made the trip a couple of times. The owner was extremely responsive to all of our communication and needs. Thank you for a wonderful week!!

This property is incredible, and the host couldn't have been better. The house looks incredible in the listing and turned out to be even better than the pictures. Barbara was easy to work with, a great communicator, and helpful as I planned our trip. It couldn't have been better!
The house is even nicer than the pictures. The floors are gorgeous, and it looks like every wall has been freshly painted. There are nice touches everywhere. Unlike other (many?) rent houses, the kitchen is well stocked with silverware and dishes, and the quality of knives and equipment isn't lacking. There's pride everywhere you look in the house. We appreciated the beverage coolers, and the second full size refrigerator.
It's an easy walk to the beach and we appreciated the chairs and equipment.
The wild horses hung out around the property and the various balconies gave us the best views.
When we left, all families were asking when we'd return. We'll be back!

We had the most amazing stay! The beach was definitely something you should see once in your lifetime. My children were in “happy tears” over the magical sight of the wild horses that grazed all around the house and nearby dunes.
The house itself was clean with plenty of space for our family and children. We loved the ice maker on the ground level - genius addition to the home! All of the instructions were easy to understand and check out rules are pretty standard and easy. The host was great at communicating and informing us of everything we needed to know and was helpful during our stay.

The house, pool and hot tub were perfect, We had five kids, 8 adults and had plenty of room in the house. Incredible views, wild horses, easy walk to the beach and you can take your car to! We stayed a couple days in Nags Head and Kitty Hawk but this home in Corolla was by far the best place to stay. Our host was so accommodating. Our entire group gave this five stars. Our memories playing on the beach as a family are incredible.

We had a wonderful visit. The host Barbara was excellent and provided a lot of information prior to our visit and answered questions quickly during our visit. The house was very clean, spacious, decorated nicely, and had everything we needed. The 2nd full size refrigerator was very helpful and so was the ice maker. The elevator was great to have to bring up groceries to the kitchen on the top level. Horses came by the house every day. We drove to the beach every day, but also walked back to the house during the day as needed. The house was perfect, we would love to stay here again!

We loved the location of the house. It was so cool to see all of the wild horses and they woild come right up to the house. The ride on the beach was crazy and we had no problem with the vehicles we had (ford expedition, chevy Silverado, dodge ram, and honda passport). We did see a lot of people stuck on the beach in their vehicles fair warning make sure your car is 4 wheel dri e and that you air down. The house was perfect so much space to fit all of us and the pool was nice. There were great views from the balconies and going to the beach was a breeze with the parking passes provided. The owner was quick to response and helped if I had any issues or questions. Overall it was a great experience and we would all gladly stay again.

We had an excellent visit. We found everything we needed at the house. Beautiful views and easy access to the beach. The weather didn't always cooperate, but we had the pool and hot tub to fall back on. Our grandkids had a great time and kept very busy between the pool, ocean and sand. We had a few questions for Barbara along the way and received immediate responses. Great hostess!! They have parking permits available for the beach but the walk from the house was so convenient, that we didn't ever use them.

We had a great time in an amazing home. It is a unique experience staying on the 4x4 beach but we all loved it. The beach is easy to get to from the house via vehicle or walking and when you are there the view is perfect. Seeing the horses almost every morning made it even more priceless. We will definitely put this on the list for the years to come.

The owner was amazing and went out of her way to help answer any questions we had about the house or things to do nearby. Been to the Outer Banks 4 times and have stayed in different places each time. This house takes the cake. It was perfect. 6 bedrooms each with their own bathroom, elevator was a pleasant surprise, and the house was spotless. Ice machine was awesome along with the extra fridge on the first floor. Barbara has the house stocked with everything you'll need to cook big dinners, or small lunches, and everything in between. Barbara was easily the most accessible homeowner we've had as well. She makes sure everything up to snuff when we arrived, gives great recommendations for things to do, and responds almost instantly.
If you want to unplug and enjoy the 4x4 beach then this is the spot. Driving to the beach takes 20 seconds, and if you need to walk it is only about 3-5 minutes. We love the 4x4 bc it is spacious. You can keep your eyes on the kids and they have endless sand to play in.
The only downside to the week was having to drive to the hospital twice. My son got swimmers ear (Duck has a walk in clinic not too far) and my wife's aunt got stung by a sting ray (Hospital in Kitty hawk is about an hour and a half.

The property is perfect, well appointed and equipped. The drive there and back was super fun. We had three 4x4 pickups, BMW X5 And Subaru AWD. Had no problems with transportation and we went to Duck several times. The upper deck has great view of the ocean. Pool location meant that in late afternoon it was shaded so we our rhythm was beach in morning through noon and then when the sand got too hot we did pool with no need to sunscreen. Best thing is the location, no roads means no road noise. Only thing you hear is the ocean. We loved this trip and the luxurious house made it easy for our 14 to relax and enjoy.

A beautiful house and pool with everything that we needed. We were very comfortable and the kids enjoyed the beach and the pool as well as the ping pong table. Barbara communicated immediately and anticipated questions very well so we had answers in advance. We were allowed to check in early. We would recommend this place unreservedly for a large group or family gathering.

Booked almost a year in advance for an family reunion. What a dream experience and comforting welcome. Its is a half hour on sand to stores. So it best you bring what you need including lots of water, ice, trash bags, laundry solutions, TP, towels, extra linen, pillows etc. no such thing as a quick run. Ice did not work on 3rd floor kitchen which was an annoyance. Other than that if you want a get away in a clean beautiful home this is the place to escape to see wild horses and take in the beach. This property was amazing. Clean, stunning views, and great communication with the property owner. Only thing to consider is traveling on the beach for almost 5 miles was a struggle for us. Although we have never done this before so it was definitely a new adventure for us. If we plan to come back we will definitely rent a legit 4x4 vehicle such as a jeep. We had a rav 4 sport which did ok but we did get stuck a couple of times. Wonderful vacation spot.

What a fantastic trip! This was our first time to the Outer Banks and it did not disappoint! The house was absolutely stunning! We had a party of 10 and with 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms we had plenty of room to stretch out and everyone had privacy. The views from the decks were amazing and the pool, hot tub, and ping pong table were favorites. The kitchen was gorgeous and well-appointed and the large, comfy couch in the living room was the ideal spot to congregate after a busy day. The location is magical! The drive on the beach to the property is a fun adventure. We saw the famous Corolla wild horses right off the deck and while we were relaxing at the beach. The sandy beach was a quick minute walk and we all went swimming; we're from NH so even though it was May the ocean temp felt balmy. The owners were fantastic to work with and very accommodating and communicative throughout the process. Thank you Barbara for sharing your beautiful home!

We had the best vacation staying at this house. It’s just as pictured-spacious and light. Very clean, well-stocked kitchen, and comfortable beds. Barbara is an extremely gracious host and patiently answered all of my questions and ensured we were comfortable. The house is great for families with tons of space and a game room on the ground floor. I also really appreciated the commercial-grade washer and dryer. We enjoyed being away from the crowds and development, but close enough that they were accessible when we wanted to go out to eat. It’s a very special place, and we can’t wait to come back!

We rented this beautiful home for a work trip so we didn’t get to enjoy many of the amenities. But it was great to come home to at the end of a long day! Great communication with owners.

This is a perfect property for family to gather! 11 adults in our group and we had plenty of room. The drive to property on beach was more than we anticipated as far as driving in sand and the distance but once there we very much appreciated the remote location. Wild horses came right by property for us to watch from deck/pool! A great time for our family!

The family had a great time at the house. House was clean and as described when we arrived. The property manager showed up as we arrived and provided us the keys and showed us around the property. Kids enjoyed the pool; the little inlet was great area for the little ones to stand and not be fully submerged (with proper supervision from an adult). We did not walk to the beach but instead drove with our trucks, which made it much easier to carry everyone and our equipment. Coffee machine, dishwasher, laundry all worked well. Unfortunately the ice machine was broken during our stay but we did not notice as we just used the ice from the refrigerator. Living area was spacious for kids to roam. We saw horses every morning around the property. Don't forget to go out at night at the beach and do some "crab hunting" - that was really fun for the kids! Enjoyed our stay very much. Please be aware that this place requires 4x4 as it is accessible only via the beach - we saw a lot of cars get stranded and be towed out because they were not properly configured.

Needing to drive 7 miles on the beach to get to the house made this location private and peaceful. What a wonderful experience bonding with my family. Cooking big dinners after a day at the beach and of course seeing wild horses every so often made this vacation the BEST EVER!

We just arrived back from a truly fabulous week at the Martin's beautiful Carova beach house and I wanted to promptly share some impressions for those considering the property, especially two key things that people might not garner from the online review. This was our fifth family vacation over the last 30 years in the 4x4 area of the northern Outer Banks, so we knew how spectacular the white sands were and the unique experience of living among the wild horses and driving on the beach. My husband and I traveled with our six children (ages 27, 25, 23, 21, 19 and 17) plus one fiancé, and all would agree that it was a really wonderful vacation.
Of course, we ALL want to visit the Carova beaches to enjoy the scenery and privacy on the beaches -- not to sit indoors or even poolside. But, what a treat it was when we encountered several days of stormy summer weather that we had the most beautiful home to relax together in throughout the storm! We brought lots of games and enjoyed movies together on the giant tv in the Great Room. The huge dining table that fit all of us was extra-special. (#1) The Martin's home really is one of the most beautiful that we have stayed in, and the photos provided simply don't do it justice. The home is a quick walk to the beach and is only a few years old, with modern, bright decor, and top-notch bathrooms. It's also stocked brilliantly with an abundance of cookware, serving ware, cutlery, dishes, leftover containers, etc. We brought so much from home and it was totally unnecessary because everything we needed was already there for our use.
(#2) The other key item that isn't readily apparent in the description is how attentive and helpful the Martins are as hosts. Barbara went above-and-beyond sharing via email tips on what to bring along, and responded in seconds to any questions we had while there. Although we had no problems in the house at all, I am certain that Barbara would have had anything fixed immediately if needed. This is a huge peace of mind for travelers.
In conclusion, our only regret about our week in the Martin's home is that we couldn't stay for a second week! Maybe next year...

I just don’t know where to start. So let me start by saying that Barbara is by far the best hostess I’ve worked with. She’s very responsive and I really shouldn’t have even contacted her because EVERYTHING I needed was right there had I taken the time to look. The house is absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and extremely clean. The ocean views were amazing. We saw the wild horses every day. The 4x4 BEACH was so unique. Just seeing the trucks driving on the sand was an experience in itself. I was really fascinated by it. Lastly, the elevator is going to spoil you. I got home and looked at my steps like they were crazy. Like I’m I suppose to walk up these steps. Overall, our experience was wonderful. We will be returning.

We had a fantastic time at this house! Upon arrival, house was spotless. Family members remarked about not only the cleanliness of the house but the beauty as well. The house was as described, with a fully stocked kitchen and updated bathrooms. DirecTV and wifi present throughout the house. My kids enjoyed the introduction to ping pong with the ping pong table on the first floor! Pool and hot tub were fantastic to say the least! And of course, as to the proximity to the beach, the house couldn’t have been more perfect. We started off driving to the beach just so we can lug all of our beach stuff, but quickly transitioned to walking along with our beach cart… that walk took three minutes or so! The view from the multi-level deck/patio was fantastic, with plenty of ocean and horse viewing! Will most certainly be looking to stay here again on our next trip to the Outer Banks!

The property is very well maintained and clean. It was large enough to meet with my brother’s family and my parents without feeling like we were on top of each other. The pool was very nice although not heated so was still chilly at the time of our stay. It did not stop the kids from going in it though! The wild horses were literally right outside the house on a few occasions. One horse was right next to our vehicle and surprised my sister-in-law when she walked outside. The owner was always quick to respond to any questions we had. All in all, it was a great experience.

Absolutely spectacular! The house was amazing, as my kids said on 1st day. This was our 50th Anniversary trip. We brought our 3 children & their spouses, plus 5 granddaughters aged 3-8. None of us had ever been to the Outer Banks, & it exceeded all my expectations. We oldies had to lean on kids to figure out our lights, TV, & showers. They knew how it all worked. We especially loved all the high end finishes & having 4 Master bedrooms. Kids & grands loved the beach & the pool. Weather was great, only rained at night twice with every day being perfect. No one wanted to leave & all hope to return. Thanks so much to Barb, our hostess!
