It needs a little TLC. Nothing that distracted from our time there. I would stay there again.

This little cabin was great for our family & pups. We had no issues getting up the hill with our Camry. It was a little hard to see at night in the fog & rain but wasn’t as steep as I imagined. I think the owners addressed some of the concerns because they had space heaters for every room so the cabin stayed warm. The water got hot very quickly.

The property was perfect for our group of 10. We enjoyed the views and fires in the fireplace. The location was nice in that neighbors weren't right on top of each other but the driveway is steep. The cabin was older but well kept. Even though the porch was sloping, it was not at all unsafe or concerning. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Couldn’t stay at all to dangerous to get my motorcycle up to the property tried reaching out to the local contact never got a response wasted money had to stay somewhere else and cut trip short

The house was clean and inviting the back deck could use a little work but over all a nice place to call home for a week the drive way is steep and long not a problem in a car but if on a motorcycle could be challenging especially if it was to rain

Pros: Good location, nice views, roomy. Furnishings are old but cozy. Awesome garage for the motorcycles.
Cons: Steep gravel road not for beginner riders.
Looking for a roomy, comfortable place in a good location this is it. If you're looking for modern, fancy furnishings, this isn't it.

Stayed for a week perfect for family. Only 1 T.V. which was a perfect so the 3 teenagers were forced to unplug and interact lol.
It is a steep climb on a gravel road so be prepared. It is an older cabin there was a sweet older beagle dog that would come to visit. All around great stay no complaints. Thank you!

Property needs some attention
Let’s start with what we liked about the property. It was simple. We could let the kids be loose and not have to worry about them breaking something or wedding something up. The views were amazing. Evolve was very helpful prior to our arrival. A good amount of antenna channels come in on the tv. Now let’s get to the bot so good things. The cleanliness of the property. There were rat dropping in the kitchen drawers. Dirty dishes in the cabinets. What appears to be evidence of an exploded coke in the ice maker. A package of cigars on the nightstand of one of the bedrooms. Mold on the ceiling of the dining room. Now things that did not work. The dryer door didn’t stay closed, there had been duck tape placed to hold the door. Don’t worry we fixed that. There is no heat down in the basement. There were space heaters located in the bedrooms down there several of which did not work. There is a gas heater located down there we could not get it to light, could have been an operator error. The downstairs bathroom sink would not drain, we cleaned it out and found a bottle cap, a rock, and a wad of hair the size of a mouse which I suppose goes back to cleanliness, how do you clean a sink and not notice it won’t drain. You couldn’t wash your hands without it filling up. Others have complained about the deck, it is very questionable on the side of the house. We didn’t use that area, we only used right at the door. The central unit thermostat batteries were dead, we replaced them. A few other things to note for future visitors. The upstairs bathroom can not be accessed by a wheelchair. The doorway was not wide enough. The house sleeps 10, there were not 10 towels and wash cloths. We had 7 people and had to go buy towels and wash cloths for everyone to be able to have a shower everyday. The house is much smaller than it seems in the photos. Which wasn’t a problem for us just something others may want to know. The kitchen sink leaks, there was a bowl under it to catch water. The washing machine does not have cold water, so to rise you have to restart the cycle . We did not call the management company because we feel like they know, and we were already there it was a holiday so we just let it go. The purpose of this review is to inform them of what needs to be done and to warn future visitors of potential issues if these things go unfixed. Overall we had a great time it was just frustrating to stay in a home with so many issues. Will not stay here again.

Beautiful cabin
There was 5 of us plus 3 dogs and there was still more than enough room the cabin fits 11 people easily and comfortably. Yes the place is a bit difficult to get to but once you get to the cabin it's worth it's Exactly like it describes. The only problem we had was on the outside left side of the house (driveway side) it was starting to bow but other than that my family and I will b back. Thank you for a great stay. My favorite part was the sunrise on the mountains BEAUTIFUL.

Rural Cabin was fantastic, but not perfection.
My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here last week and would definitely stay here again. If you're looking for a 5-Star Ritz-Carlton experience, this isn't it. It's a cabin in the middle of nowhere and it's age means it's a little rough around the edges (broken coffee table, aging deck, a couple soft spots in the sun room floor) - a bit like visiting your grandmothers house. But we don't see that as a negative at all. It was very cozy and just perfect for us. And we can also see where the owners are making improvements with many things being recently replaced, so that's good. The deck is aged, as other reviews have said, but perfectly safe. We loved it out there while cooking dinner on the grill or just enjoying the incredible mountain view. We had no issues with water, as some other reviews have said. We were all showering, cooking, and running the dishwasher daily, and never had an issue with running out of water. Water was nice and hot when needed too. There was no issue with bugs either. I figured it would be buggy to be so out in the middle of nowhere. But I didn't see any bugs, really, except for some millipedes which are completely harmless, so that's not a big deal. The only real issue we had (which would be a benefit for some) is that our phones didn't work at all. We had absolutely ZERO reception and couldn't even send a text message. This was only really an issue when we first arrived because we couldn't open our emails to get the check-in procedures to get inside the home. So be warned about that and have all your check in procedures opened and saved before you go anywhere close to the area. Once you're in the cabin, however, you have access to the cabins Wi-Fi which is surprisingly fast to be out in such a rural area. We had no problem streaming movies on the TV and using all of our phones while on the cabins Wi-Fi. While the cabin is beautiful, it is VERY rural - way more out in the sticks than we realized. It required a 45-60 minute drive to get to pretty much anywhere, with Pigeon Forge being a full 2 hour drive away. And anywhere you go also involves wild, windy, twisty mountain roads so have dramanine on hand if you're not used to such roads. Not a bad thing just more rural than realized. The driveway in front of the cabin is flat, but the loose gravel road up to the cabin is VERY steep. Our SUV never had a problem getting up there though. Just took some doing. Over all, it was a great experience and we're very glad we went.

Fishing trip
We stayed for 4 nights. Cabin needs some TLC and some updating. We had some issues with hot water and the gas grill. We informed the owner and both problems fixed within the hour. Overall our stay was good for a bunch of guys going fishing.

Stay far away
DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE.
If you are worried about you and your family's safety; stay way from this rental. If you have a motorcycle, a trailer or an RV/ camper you will not be able to get to this place safely. If you do get to this place it only holds 2 cars comfortably. More than two cars you have to back into the drive way or won't have enough room to turn around.
Once you reach the house you will see that out side deck and part of the house has rot on it. We tried to use the dining area ONCE. And when this part of the house shifted. Our OSHA inspector and two carpenters who stayed at the house went to inspect the structural integrity of the dinning room. It was sketchy at best.
The hand rail is no where near Tennessee regulation. Anyone could fall of the deck easily.
Would stay far away from this house until it has been properly fixed.

Not rentable
Arrived at house which was hell to get to, went there for motorcycle riding. You can't get a bike up the gravel hill, way to steep!
A tree had fallen through deck which compromised the dining room safety. Also back deck was unsafe, rotted and the hand rail would move a foot in either direction. Trees were falling in driveway so you couldn't park a car in driveway. We canceled and even though we didn't stay there they wanted to charge us for cleaning fee! To BS! I would not recommend this house to anybody!

Good place
This cabin is off the beaten path a bit, but still within 25min drive to Bryson City, and the NOC...both are great places to visit. The cabin itself is in need of some repair with a broken deck, and just some general wear and tear. But overall, we really enjoyed a quite getaway.

Needs updating
Host was very nice to accommodate us last minute. There was plenty parking for 4 cars and not too steep to get to house. House needs lots of TLC including rotten deck, old outdoor furniture, stained ceiling tiles, and broken refrigerator and foos ball table. We were happy to find a place and spent much of time exploring the area. We had 8 adults and the 5 bedrooms accommodated us nicely with 3 bedrooms downstairs so the teenagers had their own space. We reported the broken refrigerator/freezer so hopefully it will be fixed before the next guest arrives.

It was better than we expected.
We were initially turned off by the reviews but in contacting the management we were assured the problems had been fixed. The water worked great except if you are there in freezing conditions it is best to let a faucet drip overnight to prevent freezing. I am picky about my drinking water so only used the water for cooking, etc. Absolutely no problems with cleanliness or pests. We did turn the pilot light for the fireplace off by mistake but an email was answered in minutes and we were up and running again. Great area, saw the Jupiter Neptune thing and would go back.

Nice for the price
Cabin was a bit smaller than the photos led us to believe. There could be some improvements to the cabin but for the price it was a great, affordable vacation. Would stay here again.

Great Cabin perfect for a weekend away from hustle and bustle!
Our family 5 adults and 5 children thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the mountain home! We arrived at the cabin -- please be aware the driveway is steep but perfectly fine getting up! There was plenty of parking at the cabin and we drove a large suv and a large truck we could have fit another large suv with room to spare! The cabin was clean, comfortable, and cozy! The couches were very comfortable TV was nice and internet was also great! Once we arrived at the cabin we had absolutely no bars of cell service so having wifi was great so we could call via that! The beds were pretty good the down stairs rooms do not have vents but were cool and warm when we needed them they all have ceiling fans so that was a plus! We enjoyed the view from the deck and the large windows! We found ourselves opening the windows to hear the wind and playful squirrels also! All in all we enjoyed our trip! The cabin is about 25 mins from Bryson City and about 15-20 from the Fontana Dam which was amazing to see! I recommend this cabin to those who want to be out of the city and enjoy the parks and local attractions!

No water
We had 8 people staying over three nights. Only 3 showers were taken when water ran out. There were “well pump reset instructions“ on window sill that had little effect. Water would only last a few minutes ,at the beginning of reset, and then no water For the rest of the weekend. We were flushing with cooler water until toilets clogged on last day.
Gas grill was filthy
Deck was warped and unstable, with loose boards
Dining porch was leaning with rotted boards as support
Bot fuse all and dart nap d were broken and missing parts
Refridge water filter had not been changed since 2013
Trash was left behind building and thrown overSinks drain hill, upon arrival
Toilet seat and sinks drain were broken on second floor Bathroom
A lot of light bulbs were out
Grill caught fire on first attempt to grill (full of grease)
This property should of never been rented. Spoke to building manager and he went over water reset instructions, but we would “have to deal with situation. Well would be fixed in a couple weeks “

My stay with large family
Getting to the property was a little hard due to it being up the mountain but we finally found it. Parking was very difficult but we also made it work with 5 cars. Can’t park in “garage” it’s too small, more like a shed. The worst thing is that we didn’t have enough water to take showers for everyone. So all week we had to conserve water and sometimes had to wait 3 days to shower. The first time we ran out of water 6 people took a shower and the water was completely drained. This place says that it can lodge 11 people. Not true if y’all want to all shower every night. But good thing about this place is that it had plenty of beds and the view was great! The beds though were not good quality besides the master king downstairs. Overall this place was a 2 star. Ohhh and don’t try to take a boat to this place! You won’t be able to fit and bring down the mountain!

Very nice and relaxing cabin
Family friends and myself came to the area to ride the train from Bryson City and to Whitewater raft with the NOC group. We booked this cabin with no issues, if you have 8 or 10 people this cabin will accommodate them for sleeping. It is an older cabin with a lot of character. The property owner was awesome the communication was top-notch I would highly recommend this cabin if you are going to stay anywhere around Bryson City or Robbinsville.

To much problems with the water
The house didn’t look the same like in the pictures it was in really bad conditions there was even a dead rat and there was rat feces in the entire house, we were 10 people and we had to take a shower with buckets cause there wasn’t enough hot water or even water. It is Sad because it was a good place.

Dirty Place
We arrived late night around 9 PM for check in.
This place was not clean. Trash was left on Patio no cleaning was done. Even the bed sheets were not washed properly
Dishwasher was staked with unclean utensils. Oven was left dirt.
Microwave was not working
Carper was not vacumed
Somehow we manged to sleep through the night.
Next day we called guest contact and then they arrived to cleanup the mess. After the cleanup the place was looking little more habitable.
But overall the experience of the property was not good as cleanliness is the top most priority we expect in our vacation stay.

July stay
The cabin was nice and accommodating for 9 people. There were just a couple of things that needed some work. The game table downstairs needs to either be replaced or fixed. It was very unsteady and did not seem safe. We were all on motorcycles so it would of been nice to be warned of the road/driveway. It was not a good drive to be on bikes as it was tricky and not very well maintained. We had everything we needed to fix meals which was nice. The overall stay at the cabin was great and we all had a good time. I would definitely recommend this place if you are not on motorcycles.

Great experience, perfect size, great view. Road up was a little tricky in our lowered cars but we managed just fine. Perfect for our group ! Would rent again no doubt!

Expected more from pictures on vrbo
In my 1st contact with the rental company I stated that the four of us will be riding our motorcycles to the property for our annual ride to the mountains. A good response to my initial inquiry would’ve been to inform me that the property is only accessible by a dirt and gravel 1 lane road that is a bit treacherous for a motorcycle. We also were not told until we got there that we were responsible for taking any trash we created to the dump a few miles down the road, this also would’ve been nice to know before hand since we all rode motorcycles.
After receiving the instructions on how we were expected to leave the property a couple things were disappointing upon arrival. The grill we were told to clean if used was filthy and the lid was barely holding on by a thread. It needs to be replaced, we were afraid to use it.
The deck on the back of the property where we hung out at night was nice but the furniture out there was filthy. Would’ve been nice if it was hosed off or wiped down before we got there. There isn’t cable or satellite at the property, the tv reception is dependent on an antenna. I didn’t see that in the original description of the property, I may have missed that.
One of the reasons I picked this property for our annual trip was that it has a foosball table and dart board that the four of us could relax and play with after a long day of riding, well, the foosball table is on its last leg and we were afraid it would collapse as we were playing it. We decided to play darts instead, sigh, but the tips on all but one of the darts were broken and couldn’t be used to play.
It was nice having the garage to put the bikes in at night as opposed to leaving them outside.
Overall we give this property an average rating. Since the game room was highlighted in the pictures we really expect that the games be playable. The cabin is in decent shape but part of the deck and the front door overhang is in need of repair. We would not stay here again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone expecting to use any of the items I spoke of above.

4 Guys and Cars - It Worked!
The location for this cabin was great, very close to Fontana Village and the Dragon. If you coming down here to zip around, this location is great. The cabin itself has 2 floors, and 5 bedrooms, 2 up and 3 down. The cabin was very clean, but was looking tired. For the 4 guys it was just fine for sleeping. The Living Room has a nice set up with Lazy boy couches, TV bunch of channels and really good wifi as well. Fridge worked great keeping the beer nice and cold, as did the A/C for cooling down the cabin. There is a gravel driveway, but our lowered cars did not have a problem, not too steep, it was manageable. Might stay here again.

Rustic secluded mountain home
The mountain house was cozy and very homey. However, the deck is very scary in places and should be looked at. It needs a little updating but it was still perfect for what we needed. The views were amazing and my group loved that it had everything we needed.

We had a great stay. Cabin had everything we needed. Loved the gas fireplace, perfect!
We had an amazing weekend. Cabin had everything that we needed. Especially pleased to have the garage to keep the motorcycles dry. The gas fireplace was enjoyed nearly nonstop. Doug and Judy were both very helpful and prompt to respond to our questions.

A good time at this property
This cabin provided a great cost-benefit. The cost reflects what you get: a rustic cabin experience with amazing views and central location at Nantahala forest. We were in a group of 11 people including 3 children and overall we had a good time. Would return!

Great Getaway
I planned a surprise getaway for my wife's 40th birthday. The home matched the description from VRBO and had enough bedrooms/beds to accommodate our group. It is private with a good view and is convenient to rafting and other activities. I must admit, I was a little concerned when we first turned on the gravel road and pulled up to the house but were so pleasantly surprised when we stepped inside. It is an older home but was very clean, appliances were modern and it has a great AC unit. It has a very "comfortable feel" to it and is set up for everyone to gather in a room and enjoy each other's company. Our entire group had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed spending time together. I feel like we got a good value for our money. The only reason I didn't give a "5 star response" is due to the beds. The beds in the downstairs bedrooms were very hard and should be replaced or could use a memory foam topper. One of the upstairs beds was good and the other could use some attention as well. Beyond that, I have nothing but positive things to say about the home and our experience.

Property was old and worn.... lower level had ceiling tile issues and wet spots. Location was far from activities and view was woods only.

Cozy home
We enjoyed the home and had a wonderful time there! The only downfall was the cable and internet didn’t work (we have a toddler so sometimes we wanted to let him play on his tablet or watch a show) but couldn’t do that... the caretakers came by which was nice. The grill wasn’t clean from the previous occupants which was not good because we bought items to cook on the grill, but we improvised.
Overall, We enjoyed our time there!

Homey, well kept, easy access, beautiful mountain view.
The 5 bedrooms were just what we needed. And the foosball table was the hit for our grans. Price was right and Doug left great directions for our use in travelling, and entertainment. Thanks for a great time.
