About this cabin rental
This Vintage Rustic cabin, primarily designed for the camping & fishing enthusiast, is just one cabin of a 7 cabin resort. This cabin was built in the early 1930's and holds every bit of that vintage character. It may be a little rough around the edges but this authentic cabin holds the wonderful allure of days gone by. Electrical outlets would have been added a few years later and air conditioning wasn’t even thought of at that time. Those details won't matter to the outdoorsy kind coming for the camping experience where lake activity fills your day and evenings are enjoyed around the campfire. This charming cabin has a knotty pine interior and all the basics to create an Up North camping style atmosphere. A lifestyle one will appreciate becoming acquainted with.
All the cabins are lined up next to each other along the shore of a beautifully serene lake. This close proximity to other cabins have traditionally created a friendly community style atmosphere where guests mingle and create lasting friendships. This is the kind of place where your grandparents brought your parents, your parent’s brought you, and you are now bringing your children to create beautiful memories while spending a nostalgic vacation in a familiar old cabin.
The listed rate reflects the price for 4 adults or a family with children up to 6 people total. Additional adults beyond 4 will incur additional charges. This cabin has a sleeping capacity up to 6 people utilizing 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and a futon in the living room. There's a kitchen with everything to cover your basic needs, a dinning space and a simple bathroom that includes a warm shower. The spacious 18’x7’ enclosed porch overlooking the lake is the perfect spot for an evening card game with friends.
Whether you are looking for a home base to camp at the lake or a base camp while you explore the area’s attractions, you will enjoy this cozy cabin and all its imperfections. More than anything, you’re gonna love the authentic charm and the carefree lifestyle that comes with camping Up North.
Pets are welcome on the property for an additional fee of $25 per night / per pet, paid at time of arrival if not otherwise paid. This includes pets of your visitors to the property.
Free Parking is available for 1 vehicle per cabin. 1 boat/trailer per cabin is also free but are required to be parked in designated area elsewhere on the property. Extra vehicles require a $25 per day fee and must also be parked in a designated area elsewhere on the property. This includes vehicles of your visitors to the property.

Description of cabin is accurate. A classic up north cabin with basic amenities. Suited our needs for a quick get a way.

We really enjoyed our stay and would 100% stay here again. The cabins are old and do need some work, but our overall experience was amazing. The view is great and super peaceful to sit out at night or wake up to in the morning. My kids absolutely loved it here too so that is an added bonus! Definitely recommend! And Richie was super friendly and a great host!

Really good location. Right on Carp Lake where you can view some great sunsets. Also a short drive to Wilderness State Park. Cabin was super nice and even had wifi and a smart TV. It was a perfect place for guy’s weekend. The owner Ritchie was very nice. Would recommend like others have said to bring extension cords or power strips if you think you’ll be using them as outlets are limited. But we really enjoyed our stay and will most likely be back.

Cabin is located right on carp lake beautiful views. A Restaurant to eat is very close and food is good. The cabin was clean and in very good condition. We had a very good experience.

Right on Carp Lake! Relaxing porch is a few feet from the water! Two convenient restaurants very close with great food. Perfect for day trips to Mackinaw Island and Whitefish Point. Not fancy. Bring extention cords as no outlets in the bedrooms. Bathroom needs an update. Cement floor. Loved our 2 night stay!

Really enjoyed this rustic find. Would recommend bringing your own soap and K cups. Would have loved wood for the fire pit. Just a couple of small upgrades would be nice.

We really enjoyed our stay in the vintage cabin. It really is charming and quaint. Our favorite part is the screened in porch and we spent our time on the porch or at the waterfront. Very nice little lake. Very relaxing.

Great little rustic cabin. Amazing location just feet from the lake(not that we got in the frigid water!!:) ) Easy drive to Mackinaw City and Bridge where we found great food. Will have to come back in warmer weather sometime so we can also enjoy the lake.

The sweet cabins are exactly as described--rustic and quaint. Ours was the perfect size for my daughter and myself. The sound of the waves lapping right beyond the porch was soothing, making for great sleeping. The weather was gorgeous but freezing; thankfully the cabin had plenty of comforting heat. Thank you Ritchie!

It’s an old cabin without many amenities, like outlets in the bedrooms. We didn’t care. We were there to relax and we were able to do that. The lake was right out the back door. We were unable to enjoy that due to the time of year, but that just gives us reason to return. We missed some cabin time getting stuck in the UP when the bridge was closed for ice falling, but we still had a great trip overall.

We loved this little cabin. It’s certainly rustic, like the listing says, but it’s charming and clean, and just steps away from the lake. We had our two dogs with us and we all loved the screened in porch, the waterfront views, and listening to the lake while falling asleep.

The location of the cabin is great, close to Mackinaw City. Ritchie was super easy going and communication was great. The downside is the cabin and resort are very run down and in need of an overhaul. The bathroom was extremely rustic and was more of an outhouse experience.

Nice camp of several housekeeping cabins all lakefront on a beauty spot on Lake Paradise. Several boat docks, a nice wooded environment, friendly host, and great location. Cabins are dated but nicely appointed and have great layouts including a big screened-in porch that faces the lake. As a bonus the camp is on the West shore of the lake, and since most of the weather comes out of the west, that side of the lake is quite often calm due to onshore winds and the tree break. Very nice place to stay and relax!

The property owner is one of the poorest communicators I know. Never responded to texts or emails. We had to leave emergently after only 13hrs. He had no compassion. Did not give refund after us asking twice. No air conditioning, no outlets for fans in the bedrooms. No screens in bedroom windows to allow to open to cool the room. Good luck sleeping if you go in the summer.Nice water, but you share it with multiple other cabins. So if you are looking for peace and quiet, don't go here.

Right on the water. Just minutes from mackinaw city. Dog friendly.

Perfect for family
The cabin was perfect for us as the youngest child is 4 and he could play in the lake since it is pretty shallow. All your basic amenities are there and you are only 10 minutes drive to Mackinac City. We would definitely come back- highly recommended.

Thanks for a enjoyable week
The cabin was vary nice and clean. we were very comfortable. It is ideal for a family with young children as the lake is very shallow for several feet, and it is right outside the screened in porch. Richie, the owner was very helpful if you have any problems. we plan on going back for return visit.

cozy cabin
The cabin despite its size is very cozy and welcoming, my friends and I all had a good time. There were some plumbing issues, but that can always be fixed. Ritchie was very kind to us and made sure we had all the blankets we needed and was very helpful with giving information about the town. The places he recommended were top notch. :)
