Overall, this is one of the best hotels we have ever visited

"The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the large rooms are beautifully furnished with solid wood furniture. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The convenience of having a fantastic restaurant right in the hotel is a major plus. The breakfasts served here are a delightful combination of à la carte options, such as delicious omelets (the champignon ones were particularly excellent), and a smaller buffet featuring things like ham, cheese, and yogurt. They modestly refer to it as a 'continental breakfast.'

There is hardly anything to criticize. If I were to mention any slight inconvenience, it would be that our room was located directly facing the church belfry, and the bells would ring quite early in the morning. However, this is beyond the control of the hotel management. Additionally, our room was a maisonette with steep stairs leading from the main room to the bedroom, but we were aware of this when booking the room."

Disappointing

Location near the castle, view of the castle

The photos of the Suit apartment that are posted online on booking.com are misleading. There is no picture showing that the bedroom is in the low attic. The ceiling is very low, close to the bed. I reported this fact at the reception that the photos on booking.com misled me, but to get a "normal" room without an attic I had to pay extra. It's not right if I knew that I was booking a room with a bed in such a low attic, I would never book for that amount at this property. For the price after the extra payment, I would have had a night in much better conditions.

Excellent hotel perfect for having good rest in Oravsky Podzamok

Very good hotel. Nice, very clean and lovely decorated with regional elements rooms. Very nice and helpful staff. Good restaurant also with regional food. Tasty breakfast served from menu.

Nice stay in Orava

The location (near the castle), the breakfast, the sympathy of the employee, the cleanliness of the premises, a restroom available for disabled peoole.

The steep stairs to the upper floor of the room which may be a challenge for older or taller people.

Clean and practical to visit the castle

Good place to visit the castle of Oravsky hrad. Rooms are clean, the restaurant is correct, practical for children.

Great place to stay in Oravsky Podzamok

The staff were really nice )) It is located a few meters walk from Orava castle and approx. 2 km from the train station. The room and facilities were modern, clean, and well maintained. The breakfast was really delicious. There's a mini supermarket and delicious restaurants nearby. Highly recommended!

I did not seem to notice a heating equipment inside the room. Perhaps the walls were insulated already. The stay was comfortable though. I also connected to the restaurant wifi reaching up to my room as I did not find the password to the main wifi connection. I should have asked from the staff next time. I was still able to connect to the internet though.

Perfect stay for visiting a castle

Soundproof is absent, wooden doors and loud corridor let you hear all the sounds outside your room. Room has only 2 sockets, which are already taken by fridge and TV.

If one is after a view and use the bathroom at night forget the Maisonette Suite....

Breakfast was great, the location was good.

We stayed in "Maisonette Suite" which is a complete misrepresentation! "Suite" implies roomy living areas and freely accessible bedroom! It was more like a cubby house or a tree house. Here are some facts and photos as a picture speaks a thousand words. All the rooms are on the "First floor" however the best description is that they all are in the attic space! Sloping roof windows are too high to see the road below. Tiny room contained a two seater settee (with stains all over the seat and back), a small square table and a desk too high to work on. Carpet was filthy and cigarette burn marks at many places. We had to be careful at the outer wall as it was following the roof's angle, so wasted floor space. The bedroom was on upper floor accessible by narrow timber staircase with shaped rungs and anti-slip stickers. So, it was predetermined which leg you start with. Coming down the best way was to come do down backwards. To use the stairs at night there is a light which also annoys the other person sleeping until then. No need to say that one had to be fully awake to safely negotiate the stairs. As for the view? roof windows do give you great view of the sky, but forget the castle! The booking.com description states "Landmark view.... another miss-representation! ..see photos.

Perfect for visiting Orava castle

Great location near the Orava castle; peaceful surroundings; nice comfy rooms; friendly staff

Short visit but well taken care of.

The property has obviously been upgraded. Gorgeous hotel for any length of stay. Rooms amazing, great location, parking onsite. Hope they can recover and stay open once travel increases. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location in Orava, many things to do and places to visit. Food was great, stuff very helpful.

Hotel Palatin is a very nice hotel just oposite of Orava castle. View was great, food was awesome - big portions and freshly prepared. Only problem was that during limited lockdown restaurant closed at 6.00pm and after this hour there was not much to do.

I would appreciate a kettle and coffee/tea making possibilities in the room. Otherwise everything was very nice.

I really recommend Palatin Hotel to you.

I stayed there two nights and everything is perfect. Good location, very close to the Ovara Castle. Nice staff, I asked her many questions about the bus and she was so friendly. Good meal, I have tried the salad with goat cheese and halusky, and I must say I love them!

Pleasant

Accommodation is in a great location with parking and a room that is really nice, spacious and also offers a nice view.

Breakfast was a big problem. The gentleman who took care of serving breakfast had another job (food delivery in the village) and so when we arrived for breakfast he sent us away (he didne really care, and was quite rude) with the message that we have the opportunity to have a dry package or come for breakfast after 10:00. It happened all 3 days. An unpleasant experience, undersized staff. It's a shame, because the hotel is really great.
