I recently had the pleasure of staying at a lakefront property in Kelseyville and I must say, it had everything I could have asked for. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary appliances and cookware, making it easy to prepare meals during my stay. The air conditioning was fantastic, especially during the incredible heat wave during the Fourth of July week, keeping the entire house cool and comfortable.
The beds were incredibly comfortable, providing a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring the beautiful surroundings. And speaking of beautiful surroundings, the view from the property was absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the serene lake every morning was truly a treat. The sunsets at night were magical!
The property owners were great to work with and very easy to communicate with. Friendly and prompt on all responses.
Overall, I highly recommend this lakefront property in Kelseyville for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. It truly had all the amenities needed for a perfect vacation.

My husband's grandparents lived in Lakeport on Clearlake from the 50's to 70's and he has wanted to go back and spend time in the area. The Soda Bay Home was perfect. Communications with Rita were easy & timely. The house was immaculate and the history of it was fascinating. We've stayed in VRBO's all over the western states and this was the best equipped we've ever stayed in. Need a sheet pan for roasting potatoes; martini glasses for a little tipple, they are there; measuring items, coffee cups that aren't overly ginormous, pots, pans, etc. even paper plates for a picnic on the lake. I'm guessing there is still family entertainment that goes on here given the equipment and supplies! The lake view was wonderful and each morning we enjoyed our coffee at the picnic table while we watched ducks, geese, birds of all kinds, turtles, egrets, etc. And watching the boats, jets skis, etc. was really fun too. However far fewer than my husband remembers from his youth. The front yard also was relaxing and lovely to view from the kitchen window and while we didn't use it, the hammock looked very inviting. It appears that AC has been added in recent years so we were able to keep it cooler, however you do have to manage the late afternoon sun coming in over the lake. But then get ready for beautiful sunsets and enjoy this little oasis.

We enjoyed being right on the lake, especially as a "jumping off" point for kids and grandkids who live in the area. Comfortable small house, good WiFi, kitchen is well equipped, barbecue grill available. We enjoyed the location.

Charming family home, complete with historical photos of the construction of the house and family memories. Our family of four really enjoyed our relaxing Christmas with a fire and board games. The 2 kayaks were a nice plus. Beautiful sunsets! Thanks for stocking the kitchen.

My wife and her sister and me.had a relaxing vacation. Soda bay is off the beaten track, with beautiful views of clear lake and the surrounding mountains. Lots of thermal activity in the bay, bubbly water in different areas. An island with small pools of thermal activity. Nice house with a dock for your boat. Bring a extension chord if you need to charge your batteries on the dock.

This is the third time we have stayed here for our multi day Clearlake fishing trip and it was great as usual. The location is perfect - centrally located on the lake giving you easy access to both ends of the lake. The place is a simple and classic Clearlake cottage. We love it. Thanks again for a great stay!

The hosts were amazing when I couldn't figure out the key box. They were there and let me on within minutes. The property was well kept and clean. My fishing adventure was cut short but I enjoyed relaxing and looking out at the water. I will be back!

Family had a lovely time fishing and staying at this property. As most reviews suggest, home is older but very well cared for. We appreciated the gate and privacy the home offers and amenities we expect when traveling. Will definitely be back!

Our stay was perfect for our long weekend stay. We wanted to stay lakefront near Kelseyville and this house had everything we needed. It was built in the 1950s and is true to its heritage. We appreciated that the landlords, Rita and Rolf had the heat on for our arrival.

The house was cute with a great yard and view of the lake. Rita and Rolf were incredibly nice and accessible. Any requests we had were graciously accommodated. The unexpected chance to meet them personally brought a wealth of knowledge of the rich history of the house, amazing art and the larger Kelseyville/Lakeport area. Would definitely stay there again!!!

Great home and view of the lake!
Clean and had everything we needed already here! Despite not having AC, the concrete home stayed cool all day in the middle of July. Would highly recommend for a couples getaway or a small family! Rolf and Rita were awesome and even let us borrow their golf cart!!!

Back Again
This was my second time staying here - the first since 2019. This time for three days of fishing with my wife and 17 year old son. It’s a great location in soda bay - and is a perfect simple hide away for a visit to the lake. I am sure we will be back!

The perfect, simple, lake retreat
I spent a couple of beautiful remote working and fishing days in this wonderful house. It is an older home but shows tremendous pride of ownership.
On entry, you are greeted with a mural of photos showing the home being built. It seems this is was one of the first homes in this area of Soda Bay and may even be in the family of the original owners. They have kept it up nicely.
It provides for indoor and outdoor space, a nice grass area, a great dock, picnic table and seating and a nice parking area. My SUV and kayak trailer fit nicely and I felt secure leaving the trailer unhitched on the property. The house sits at almost the end of the street, which is a single lane road. Note that if you are pulling a trailer, be confident in your ability to park and drive in reverse as the single lane roads, hill, and tight turns make it necessary to back up should you meet another driver coming the opposite way.
I slept well and ate well thanks to both a well stocked kitchen and nice neighbors that even brought me over some BBQ.
Be aware that the lake levels are low (June of 2022) and while I could launch my kayak from the shore, it was a muddy launch. Overall, I highly recommend this peaceful and lovely lakeside retreat and will be back.

Amazing!
We had such a fun time. The place was great. So many animals came up to the backyard. We saw a baby deer, a fox, and tons of birds. The fishing was great from the dock and we were able to tie our boat to it. We have a bass boat though water was only 2-3 ft. Beds were comfortable and the place had nice towels. There was also a fan and a heater we were able to use to dry our clothes when it rained. Rita was super responsive. Definitely would go back.

Never Disappointed
This is our second time staying here in the last 3 months. It never disappoints how great this place is. Nice and quite perfect little bay to kayak fish in. Not to mention the owners (Rita & Rolf) are just great people.

Fishing weekend
This house was so quaint. I would do all 5 stars, except there was some sort of security light that is motion activated on the neighbors side yard that lit up the bedroom 5-6 times during the night. In the neighbors defense, it was windy, so it may have just been the wind that was making it come on...not his fault. But better blinds on the bedroom windows might help? Otherwise, the house was perfect...small but well acquainted and perfectly located. Thank you Rita! We'll likely be back!
