My wife and two teenage girls had a wonderful time at this special place. The house was well-outfitted, and there was space for all of us. The location cant be beat. You really feel like you're somewhere special and out of the way, but the drive into town and around to attractions was easy.

Very nice home, location and great owners to communicate with. Loved the washer and dryer as this stay was midway through our trip.

Lovely home on spectacular piece of property with trees and a stream right outside. A very rough road to get to the home taking 15 minutes from town. That was the only issue with the property. Otherwise it was perfect and the hosts left fresh bread, preserves and flowers. Thank you!

Great location and very nice house in the cloud forest. Great host, very quick to respond to our inquiries. Of all the place we stayed in Costa Rica, this was easily our favorite. We would have stayed more than 2 days if we would have known!

This property is amazing. It’s cool to wake up to the birds singing each morning.

Wonderful home!! Perfect for two couples. Comfortable and well maintained! Best part was the setting. Beautiful, peaceful and lovely! We enjoyed walking the trails around the home and watching the birds from the decks off the bedrooms. Short drive to Santa Elena and plenty of restaurants closer. Kitchen was small but workable with 2 burner induction system & toaster oven.

Great location if you don’t mind the 10 minute drive into Santa Elena. So peaceful and many hummingbirds and butterflies in the beautiful gardens. The house had everything you needed and it was clean and comfortable. A perfect 3 day holiday in the mountains.

We spent 4 nights at this beautiful place. House and environment are exactly as described even better. Very well equipped. The house is close to several attractions and the city of St-Elena. We strongly recommend.

Nestled in the cloud forest, this beautiful well-appointed home was perfect for our 3 days in Monteverde. Oscar was easy to communicate with before and during our trip. We arrived to find fresh eggs and delicious homemade bread in the kitchen. It was a quick drive into town, close to attractions and restaurants. It was hard to leave this wonderful place! Thank you, Oscar for a memorable stop on our CR adventure!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property in the cloud forest. We only stayed 3 nights and the weather was cloudy and rainy most of the time but that’s why they call it the cloud forest. The property was a short drive from town, beautiful view and full of flowers and birds. The owners left us fresh eggs and bread and lovely fresh flowers. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.

It was paradise from the house of glass to the cloud forest at our doorstep with a trail through a large property of glorious Mountain View’s with birds, plants, streams, in a botanical jungle.

We liked everything about this property. A truly wonderful home with extraordinarily thoughtful hosts who provided great bread and fresh eggs. Beautiful home and surroundings. Restaurants and activities were just a few minutes away by car. We absolutely plan to return.

This place is magic. The large windows. The decks. The incredibly efficient use of space. The cozy decor. Perfect. I wish I could of stayed longer. If I ever needed a getaway to completely unplug - this would be my destination. Loved it.

The view was they only thing better then the house. Great location. Easy to communicate with the property manager. Clean and comfortable. Fun hiking trail on the grounds.

Our stay was amazing. The property is wonderful. Every morning we sat on the deck with coffee and watched the hummingbirds feasting on the flowers on the bank just below us. I can’t recommend Casa Mia enough.

The pictures for Casa Mia do not do it justice. The property is nestled down a quiet dirt road and surrounded by nature. The views were incredible. There is a stream that runs thru the property that plays its own symphony while you sleep. The balcony wraps around 2 sides of the house making it easy to sit outside and explore the wildlife amongst the trees. A property close by had cattle that grazed on a nearby field that you could enjoy watching through the trees.
We were greeted by a beautiful woodpecker in the morning, there are hummingbirds galore to see and a wide array of other birds and critters to keep your eyes wandering. Highly recommend having binoculars on hand.
We toured Cafe Monteverde coffee farm and give it high praises as well. Hanging bridges is a must, WITH a tour guide. Any of the trail walks are best with a guide as they see what we don’t. Come prepared for it to be colder in the mountains, bring mosquito wipes with deets, they worked very well.
Oscar and his wife made sure we got there safe and stayed in communication with us throughout our stay. We felt safe the entire time. It was a pleasant surprise to see that they provided with fresh eggs, coffee and a loaf of bread in the kitchen.
We were sad to leave this little slice of heaven in the clouds.

We loved our stay at Casa Mia. The home and the surrounding property are beautiful. On the day of arrival we were greeted with fresh eggs, a loaf of bread and coffee, such a nice touch. There is a lovely one mile walk you can do around Oscar and Juana’s property that is super nice. There are big windows in the home that overlook the surrounding jungle. The hummingbirds, parrots, and toucans were wonderful to see each day. Do keep in mind that bedrooms and bathrooms are up some stairs that are a bit steep. There’s is no “hot tub” as stated in the listing but there are two nice walk in showers.
The owner Juana was so nice and gave us suggestions of things to see in the area.
The Monteverde area is stunning to see and the home was a wonderful place to be at the end of each day. We would most definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay at Casa Mia in Monteverde area! Oscar and Juana are great hosts, everything was perfect for our arrival. We got there after dark and got turned around and Oscar was kind enough to meet us and lead us to the house. (Just a tip, Casa Mia did not show up for us on Waze or Google Maps when we were leaving Liberia but if you search again when you get near Santa Elena it will show up. For Google Maps, use “Monteverde Casa Mia”)
The house and the grounds are beautiful, we loved sitting up on the raised patio in the evenings under a blanket and having some drinks. Just looking out in the mornings and afternoons from the patio you will see many hummingbirds. At night, you hear the breeze, the stream below and the rain on the roof.
The bread and eggs were a great addition for an easy breakfast, there are some small supermarkets not too far away that have the essentials. For restaurants, Bon Appetit is very close, has great food and atmosphere but a little pricey. The hamburgers and beers at Monteverde Brewing Company were very good. Taco Taco was our favorite - the fish and pork tacos were great and for drinks, the cazuela was very tasty.
The house is within 30 minutes of the Monteverde Park. We visited Selvatura Park & walked the hanging bridges loop and also walked through the sloth and butterfly exhibits and had lunch at the restaurant there. Also recommend one of the night wildlife tours. Great visit!

Awesome place to stay. Close to hanging bridges, restaurants and shops. Hummingbirds galore. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Beautiful views. Close to town, but secluded. My family has good memories of our stay, and we will recommend to any of our friends headed to the area.

Our family of four absolutely loved our stay. Location is perfect for accessing activities yet tucked away and private for quiet walks on the property and bird watching. House had everything we needed, and having access to laundry was really helpful. Definitely recommend a stay here! Thanks Oscar and Juana!

This house is a dream. My wife and I wanted to buy it. Super clean, laundry is available (which we utilized), tons of natural light and floor-to-ceiling windows/sliding doors with incredible views of the mountain and its flora and fauna. We saw and heard a ton of wildlife sitting out on the porch in the mornings. And the house is close to all the action in town. Fully recommend staying at Oscar's place!

Perfect house for family of 4. Bedrooms were spacious, with full window views of the surrounding forest. Wake up to birds chirping and stunning views from the mountaintop. Nice hiking trail nearby. Bathrooms were small but functional. Wifi worked well. Only minus is road to get there. Typical Costa Rican mountain road, narrow and many potholes. Long and winding drive to Santa Elena and Monteverde.

The house was very clean with everything we needed for our stay. When we arrived there were eggs and a loaf of bread waiting for us. The large windows face the mountains, with views of beautiful trees teeming with birds and butterflies. One night we sat on the upstairs porch to watch a lightening storm and fireflies. There’s a pretty hike just outside the house. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet and tranquil place to rest and enjoy nature. A short drive from town and the outdoor adventure companies.

This is a beautiful place in a spectacular setting. Stunning views from every room. The fresh flowers, bread and eggs on our arrival were a very welcoming touch. We will definitely recommend Casa Mia to all our friends and family. It was the highlight of our Costa Rica adventure!

Amazing property in a great location. Very convenient to Santa Elena and the best Monteverde attractions including Sky Adventures and Selvatura parks. The on-site hiking trails were an amazing bonus and fun for the whole family. Oscar is a friendly and very responsive host. Highly recommend Casa Mia.

The property is exactly as depicted in pictures. It is a bit secluded but tucked away between rolling hills with horses and cows. Bed was comfortable and the natural air conditioning was perfect. We sat on the deck daily with coffee to watch the birds. Oscar and his son were very attentive and responded quickly to questions. I recommend Casa Mia

The accommodations at Casa Mia were wonderful! Everything was very clean, close to town and the fresh cut flowers, bread and eggs upon our arrival was a great touch. Oscar was very responsive during our stay. Amazing place to recharge.

The moment you drive up to Casa Mia you know you’re in a special place. It’s far enough from the bustle of Santa Elena that you feel immersed in the cloud forest.
The trails around the property are well maintained and easy to follow. Oscar and Rosalie clearly care about their guests. They checked up on me after I went walking by myself rather late in the day. (It gets dark quick in the forest!)
The house itself has all the amenities you need, comfy beds, and lots of windows so you can feel ‘outside’ even when you’re in.
We saw plenty of hummingbirds, a toucanet, and montezuma’s oropendolas.
The location was convenient for driving to El Tigre Waterfalls (highly recommend this place) and Salvetura Adeventure Park.
I would stay here again.
Thanks for sharing this amazing place Oscar and Rosalie.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and the surrounding had walking trails and a river. Screen doors in the bedrooms would be a great addition. While it is only 3km from town it is at least an hour to an hour and a half walk. Be prepared.

Beautiful property nestled in the hills surrounded by hydrangeas and hummingbirds. Just 5 minutes from Santa Elena. Easy access to sky adventure for ziplining and reserve hiking. Oscar and Juana were so great. They responded quickly whenever we needed something. The chocolate cake was a nice touch. We would definitely recommend yo our family and friends.

Perfect little house. Very clean, beautiful property. They even left a loaf of delicious bread for us.

We really loved this house! Stunning view, super clean house, very comfortable beds, well equipped with everything you need. The hosts were helpful and easy to contact. Feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, but a quick drive into the charming city. Will absolutely stay here again!

Amazing home and outstanding host! From the moment we pulled up to house we were awestruck, the house is beautiful but the view is BREATHTAKING. You can hear the gentle trickling of water over the rocks in the creek behind the property that runs towards the lush, green forest. The humming birds that are always flittering around the beautiful purple flowers in the backyard. I honestly felt like I stepped into a storybook, the beauty of the land this cabin sits on was surreal for me. Upon stepping inside the house, we noticed there were fresh cut flowers throughout the home as well as fresh eggs and bread. Such a nice touch and we greatly appreciated it. The whole home was sparkling clean and the towels in the bathroom were fluffy and bright white. There is a washer and dryer in the home which was so nice to have and there was even some laundry detergent available for us. There are also space heaters and hair dryers in each room as well as multiple extra blankets.
The town was doing some road work and our water was turned off for a few hours. I contacted the host, Oscar, and I kid you not, like a minute after I sent the message I saw him fly by on an ATV to talk to the workers. He even brought them hot cocoa to try to get them to help us out. I just want to thank you again Oscar, if you’re reading this. You really just went above and beyond.
The only thing I would like to warn future guests, is that you definitely need an awd or 4x4 vehicle. The roads are not paved and the parts that are have a lot of pot holes. I think that holds true for the whole area though, not only for this house.
In conclusion, 10/10 I loved it here and would definitely come back!!

We really enjoyed staying at Casa Mia. Everything was as other reviewers have said and the posting is accurate. It is such a peaceful and serene property. We enjoyed the fresh eggs, bread, and coffee. Everything was well stocked including extra towels, laundry detergent, full kitchen needs, etc. We would definitely stay again. The only improvement might be the extra sleeping arrangement for a 3rd person in one of the bedrooms. But hey, it's a futon with a crease down the middle when folded down but that is to be expected with a futon. We loved our stay. Do be aware some of the more back roads into the region really do require 4x4. For getting to Cas Mia, despite heavy rains we experienced think Casa Mia would be accessible with a 2x4 as we drove it several times without 4x4 engaged. The fog at night got real bad one time though so be aware how fast that can change.

Casa Mia was perfect in all ways for our family of four. Oscar is a personable, helpful, and responsive host who provided us with everything we needed as well as bread, fresh eggs, and fresh flowers from the property. There are two trails to hike, open fields , and a beautiful balcony from which to see the lush surroundings. The house is a quick drive to town and attractions. You'll need a 4x4, but no more than you would anywhere in CR. Highly recommend this property!

Beautiful setting and home
Oscar’s home is absolutely perfect. Set in a fairytale like space with wildlife, horses, and cows grazing in the nearby field. It is a short drive to town. Very private, only noise you’ll hear is wildlife and rain :). The outdoor spaces are picturesque and the indoor spaces are perfectly equipped. The washer and dryer were lifesavers for our trip. Thank you for sharing your home!
