About this bed and breakfast
Pupukea Highlands sits above Waimea Bay and the magnificent beaches that are referred to as the “7 mile miracle” that makes up the North Shore of Oahu. Waiamea Bay is the birthplace of big wave surfing. Pipeline possesses the reputation of the world's most beautiful and dangerous wave. Sunset beach is power surfing at its finest. These well known beaches are a very short drive from our beautiful properties. My family’s one-acre properties that were once part of a large farm are now homes with banana and avocado trees, along with beautiful indigenous plants native to Hawaii. The 1000-foot elevation and five-minute drive to the beaches provide a cool and serene alternative to the quicker paced, people watching and warmer Kamehameha Highway District. Along with Pipeline and Sunset Beach, Haleiwa makes up the final piece of the Triple Crown of Surfing. A seven-mile drive takes you to the quaint former Plantation town of Haleiwa which boast eateries and shopping that have been featured on syndicated food and travel channels. Fishing, diving, zip lining, surfing, paddling, snorkeling, cycling, sailing, shark expeditions, bird watching and skydiving are just some of the activities that are available. The downstairs 2-bedroom unit is designed for 5 but are expandable to accommodate 7 with newly remodeled kitchen and bath and a wraparound patio with large lanai perfect for entertaining and star gazing. All units have TV and Wi-Fi. 30 NIGHT BOOKINGS REQUIRED. INQUIRE FOR MORE DETAILS. Price depends on time of year, length of stay and number of guests.

This place was all we had hoped for in planing our vacation. We don’t like the crowds and typical tourist things, we like to see it all but stay away from the commercialized places. This home was so close to all of the North Shore beaches and food but still very centrally located so we could get around the entire island easily. The property is beautiful, we loved the porches and open windows. We very much enjoyed the host as well.
Highly recommend!

This is a clean, comfortable house on the north shore. The only downside is that you cannot walk anywhere from here. Must drive to the beach, etc.

Wonderful hosts and property. Everything was as pictured plus it was so well maintained and clean! Perfect location for all North Shore activities. They have everything you need to snorkel too! Highly recommend staying here.

We loved this place and would definitely stay here again. Annegret was welcoming, easy to work with, and very accommodating. I was a little unsure of the location initially because I like to be closer to the beach but we really enjoyed the quiet and the privacy you have because it's such a large property. Everything you need or would want to do on the north shore is close. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Absolutely perfect
The house is wonderful. Great location. They came and greeted us when we got there. We were able to borrow their lawn chairs and boards to take to the beach. They even had a basketball out for my son to play everyday. Super kind people and very welcoming. I would absolutely recommend them. So wonderful! Thank you!!

Perfect Little North Shore Spot!
Perfect place for a stay on the North Shore. Its up a windy road, but at the bottom of that hill you've got beaches and a Foodland right there. Haleiwa is 15 minutes to the left, and Turtle Bay is 15 minutes to the right.—it's in a great middle spot with all the best things the North Shore has to offer on either side.
The house has everything you need as well as snorkel gear, beach chairs, and boogie boards. Clean, comfortable, and spacious. There's no AC but that is listed in the property description. Also this is a bottom unit - we did not have anyone above us until the last night, but its something to consider in case the above is rented.
The hosts are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I don''t think I've ever actually met the hosts of a place I've stayed in until now. Ann & Alan were great to talk to and get to know.
I poured through many places and reviews before picking this one and I'm so glad I did. You can stop searching, and book this place!

Beautiful house on spectacular property
Staying at this jungle hideaway was perfect for our trip to Oahu. It was exactly what we had envisioned. Decently secluded but still close enough drive to the beach only about 7 minutes. Fresh bananas on the property as well as avocados, when they’re in season. Sadly they weren’t. The wrap around lenai was magical to sit at night and enjoy the rain and breeze. To top it all off on the morning we were leaving our rental car’s battery died and the owners of the property were able to give us a jumpstart and got us on our way. Mahalo!

Beautiful and amazing but beware if on the bottom unit
The home is perfect, amazing, and beautiful. The host was wonderful in the beginning. But then we found out that it is a shared unit (not with her family but with other parties) we happened to have 4 people on top of us that you could literally hear every single word they said due to no insulation. They partied till 1am nightly, and then woke up around 6am. If you’re ok sleeping on someone else’s schedule it would work. Or if your own family in both units. Upon having issues, with the party animals the host stopped communicating with us so we had to reach out to Vrbo. We ended up leaving 5 days early trying to find another place where we could get sleep.

Perfect home away from home
The moment we entered this property we were smiling. Lush trees, flowers and amazing landscape. This apartment is large, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen and large living and dining area, and a large lanai. Very clean, plenty of beach towels, chairs and boogie board, etc. What we enjoyed the most was staying on the North Shore. I had lived in Honolulu and each time I visited we stayed in different locations on Oahu. This was our first time on the North Shore. The beaches were so close but when you were “home” it felt like you were in your own home away from traffic and people. Down the hill is Foodland, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, 4 Food trucks, and the ocean-I couldn’t ask for more. What really made this property was the family that welcomed us like we were family. Annegret, Alan and their sons were amazing. We got to watch them cut down fresh bananas and then we had bananas every day. They checked on us, gave us great suggestions, and they became family (Ohana). Thank you, we will be back!

We had a great time at this house. Beautiful outdoor space and the house provides everything you need. There are two units one on the bottom where we stayed and another one exactly the same above with a nice view. We are looking forward to return. Thanks Annegret!

North Shore Home away from home
This location is ideal for a quiet get away and not too far from all the sweet spots in north shore. Anna was a great host. Her place is super clean, wifi is fast, and all the amenities there will make you feel like you are at home fast.

Pupukea Perfection
Beautifully recently renovated guest house. It stays cool in the Pupukea hills which is very nice. The owners couldn’t be friendlier. We felt like family. They gave us fresh bananas and incredible avocados regularly. Couldn’t recommend more.

Lovely property...
We very much enjoyed our visit to this property. Very clean, roomy and comfortable. The property itself is very lush and well maintained. The hosts very amenable. Annegret made us welcome with very tasty bananas from her garden and was attentive to our needs.
My other comments... you do need a car to get around. This place is at the top of a hill. Nice and cool and quiet away from the Main Street, but car necessary for getting around. Also note it is a bottom floor space. We had lovely neighbours upstairs - but something to consider. Washer/dryer is right outside one bedroom. So very nice to have this convenience but sometimes there are late night washers. Overall our visit was a 5!! 🤟😄

A Clean Getaway
We are VRBO veterans & so we are stingy with the 5th star in overall ratings. There are some dazzling places out there. This apt. is not a dazzling standout, but you have to judge each place in the context of its environment and this apt has features that earn its 5th star. The whole property is a compound of 4 spaces: the host's house, a small detached house, & an up/down duplex. All of these spaces are connected & surrounded by airy covered lanais. We stayed in the downstairs unit of the duplex. The hosts are on-hand & very hands-on. The pros of this are that whenever we found that we needed something, the hosts were ready and willing to provide it, including charming extras like fruit from their trees! The con of this is that this place would not suit guests who demand absolute privacy. Walls are thin everywhere in Hawaii and we could hear the comings & goings of the upstairs guests. This was not intrusive, but it's something to note. The remarkable feature is how meticulously the hosts maintain this place! This is not to be taken for granted when you are in a tropical rainforest. We extensively use the kitchens we rent, and the kitchen in particular was provisioned with top-shelf cookware, appliances, & GOOD knives. There are no spices or other non-perishables provided but that is a prudent concession to the insect-realities of the tropics. There is a Foodland and a food-truck compound right on Pupukea Road, just 5 mins away. The beds were comfortable. The washer & dryer are shared with the other guests, and the washer is coin operated. The wifi and TV are basic but adequate. The location is in a quiet uphill rural suburb. 5 mins down the hill by car puts you right on Pupukea beach, or you can leave the car parked, and walk a mile UP the hill to the beautiful & spectacular Kaunala trail. Waimea Falls is 10 mins away by car. The hosts keep 4 fat hens in their 1-acre yard, and when we decided to stay put, we found ourselves just chilling on the big lanai, watching the hens do pest control, while the trade winds sailed the rainbows down the mountain. If you dropped your banana, the floors are so clean you can pick it right back up and eat it! This place is tidy, comfortable & attractive; an unexpected, out of the way gem that made staying home as pleasant as the beaches. Definitely Recommended!

Paradise up on a hill
This home was well-maintained, clean and tastefully decorated. It was a couple of miles up the hill from the beaches which made for comfortably cool nights. We were provided with fresh bananas as well as some other tasty treats! We really enjoyed our time here. Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us!

Great location and super clean
The property is as described and the owners on site were super helpful. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking and sharp knives were a bonus! Very nice outside seating area to enjoy with morning coffee and evening cocktails. We had a car and I would recommend that. Foodland was down the street and very convenient. Super clean space.

North Shore Country Feel Surroundings
Homeowners are very accommodating, kind, and attentive! Always willing to help with any questions and local suggestions.
The unit is super clean, tastefully decorated in an island theme, surrounded by a beautiful yard, fruit trees, and country nature. The owners graciously dropped off delicious tree ripened bananas and avocados picked on the property. A unique taste indeed! A nice relaxing sitting area is attached to enjoy winding down at sundown.
North Shore's famous beaches, Waimea Bay, Sunset, Pipeline, etc., are just a few minutes by car down the hill providing great swimming, surfing and snorkeling. We found plenty of restaurant choices within a short driving distance in Haleiwa. If you want to cook, the kitchen has all the amenities you need to prepare a full gourmet meal. A grocery store and coffee shop is at the bottom of the hill, with lots of interesting food trucks around the corner. If you want to experience a luau, one is just 15 minutes away at Waimea Valley --- Fun time and good food. We had an enjoyable time during our stay.
