About this house rental
Sitting high on a dune overlooking the Shinnecock Bay and the Ocean beyond, this little gem of a house was perfectly designed by Preston Phillips to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. He thoughtfully designed the house to be like a ship sailing off into the enormous span of the Shinnecock Bay and into the inlet where the ocean dramatically rushes into the bay. The house is serene , filled with the magical light from the sea. A wooden staircase leads down from the front lawn to the bay for a sunset view if you can manage to leave the beautifully appointed home which features a hot tub on the deck, fine art on the walls and everything you need for a BBQ.
From the hot tub on the waterfront deck you can enjoy the bayview after your outdoor shower and then resting on the cozy teak lounge chairs with a drink in hand.
The master bedroom suite with TV is calm and quiet with mood lighting and fine art. The house is filled with antiques and fine furnishings, including thonet chairs from the film set of The Dead (John Huston's last film)
There are two queen beds in the charming guest rooms. The bathrooms are designed by Phillips for ease of use. The old lush garden is carefully tended to create privacy. Teak outdoor furniture includes two lounge chairs a table for six with umbrella with a perfect water view and BBQ. Besides the outdoor lounge chairs there are several lounge couches (one in front of a fire place) which make for perfect naps all year round. The white denim down filled couch in the sunroom is a perfect combination of comfort, view and with good light to read your Sunday Times. A bagel from Goldbergs on the highway completes your sunday morning.
The house is also close to the famous Hamptons ocean beaches where there is public parking and are beautiful walking fishing reading swimming white sand beaches. On the north side of the highway there is also easy access to the Peconic Bay for bay swimming.
The house's proximity to Southampton shopping (as well as fresh fish at Cor J's, Mr Nurel's fresh produce and Scottos Italian food) makes meal prep easy with a bright open kitchen. The town of Southampton has excellent shopping, a giant library, groceries fancy (Citerella) and down to earth (stop and shop), bars, restaurants and Hildreths (the nations oldest department store!) as well as the best boutiques outside of New York City. We have movie theaters in Hampton Bays, Southampton and East Hampton and they have the latest releases. The new and exquisite Parish Art Museum is a must see with changing exhibits and classes for young and old. And the huge fully equipped Library in Southampton even has a boat in the children's section.
There are two tv's which can be switched to your favorite programing, a blue tooth audio stereo receiver, a nest thermostat for Central Air and Heat and of course WiFi. In front of yet another napping couch is a wood burning fireplace for atmosphere and some heat on a nippy fall evening. The appliances or either new or in good working order.(towels linens beach towels herbs condiments cleaning supplies toilet paper etc have been provided) The house has been thoughtfully designed to be easy and casual as well as calm and peaceful. The lighting at night is brilliant both in the house and in the garden.
The exceptional crew to care for the house is dependable and cheerful and can be called upon day or night for advice and help. You will thank your lucky stars that you have found this precious gem and are able to enjoy its peace and beauty. It will turn you into a poet or at least a true lover of the sea.

BEST MONTH ON THE BAY!
This home is a dream escape! We all loved every aspect of our stay- the view of the Bay is absolutely perfect. The gardens are impeccable. The rooms are spacious and full of lovely art. The living room is so well designed and warmly lit. We grilled almost every night and loved the outdoor shower and jacuzzi. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for more.

June on Shinnecock Bay
This is a Beautiful property inside and out! And Lilyan is an extraordinary host! Our experience was more like staying with dear friends, than renting a property on VRBO. Lilyan provides for everything, sharing her lovely home and expert recommendations for living in Southampton. The location is phenomenal, with sweeping views of Shinnecock Bay. Steps take you from the house down to the water, where we walked and easily put in our kayaks. Kayaking was excellent with coves and conservancies easily accessible; we even had a daily paddle with Seals that frequent a sandy spit of beach at the entrance to Middle Pond! Special Thanks to Lilyan for sharing her beautiful home with us!

Perfect location to relax
We absolutely adored Lilyan"s property. It was exactly as described and the photos were an accurate representation. We were able to completely relax from the stresses of daily life and enjoyed feeling the breezes and hearing the water lapping from the Shinnecock Bay. One of our puppies had an exceptional time trying to catch one of the butterflies that seemed to be constantly present hovering around the small garden in the rear yard. The property also had all of the conveniences to make it a true "home away from home." We can't wait to stay at this property again.

Beautiful Spot!
We stayed for a week and felt right at home! The house is lovely and just as pictured -- lots of light and peaceful. Relaxing in the hot tub overlooking the Bay was blissful and we also enjoyed the local sights, restaurants and beach walks. Lilyan is wonderful to work with and very responsive. Highly recommend.

I would rent this again in a heartbeat
This is an ideal rental. It is very clean, with beautiful views of the water. The photos well represent the property. We were a group of four and five-star business travelers who all were all frankly surprised by the cute entrance and subtle qualities of the house.
We enjoyed the wonderful open feel the house had. The kitchen comes with all the utensils and cookware to eat at "home". This is a place that feels like your home and nagged at us when it was time to leave.
The internet was fully operational.
Check the cabinets before you shop, they have most of the basics already stocked. Cooking oil, coffee, sea salt...
The one thing there wasn't was shampoo, so you might bring your own. There is a nice parking lot for two cars. The neighborhood was quiet, I suspect they will expect that of those who rent as well.

Perfection!
We were looking for a comfortable, modern vacation house and this could not have been a better choice. The views were spectacular, with the hillside breezes making it possible to relax all day in the yard, if you chose to, or end your day with a dip in the hot tub or an outdoor shower. The house was beautifully designed, with artwork adorning the walls in every room. Very comfortable beds, and great layout offering privacy in bedrooms, but open airy common space for gathering and dining. Short ride to Hampton Bays and Southampton beaches and restaurants. Owner was wonderful and the staff they provided answered any questions. Best rental yet!

Gorgeous home, amazing view!
We had such a wonderful stay here - the view is incredible and the house is so beautiful. It’s in a quiet area and set back a little from the road, so you really feel like you’re away from it all. Great booking experience - Lilyan was super helpful and responsive. I wish we could have stayed all summer. We will definitely be back!
