- Valley Gardens: Covering 120 total acres including 17 acres of formal gardens, Valley Gardens is ideal for leisurely strolling after a long soak or a delicious meal. The area used to be called Bog’s Field because of the 35 natural springs found within the grounds. There are many activities available within the gardens including tennis, disc golf, a paddling pool, a playground, and a skatepark. In the summer months, you’ll find a bandstand hosting concerts on Sunday afternoons.
- RHS Garden Harlow Carr: RHS Garden Harlow Carr is known as the northern outpost of the Royal Horticultural Society and a jewel in Harrogate’s crown, featuring designs and specimens that reflect the Yorkshire landscape. It’s a walkable one and a half miles through Pinewoods, from the southwest end of Valley Gardens or just a few minutes by car from Harrogate center.

- Harewood Estate: An intriguing place to explore eight miles south of Harrogate on the way to Leeds, Harewood Estate is a lavishly decorated mansion that remains privately owned by the family that built it in 1759. There are a large number of rooms open for visitors to see. The mansion is full of Chippendale furniture and an incredible fine art collection. It is also surrounded by Capability Brown-designed gardens. It has a nationally recognized conservation program, accredited museum, and licensed zoo with 56 species of birds in the Bird Garden including flamingos, penguins, and cranes. The grounds consist of two cafes, a tearoom, an ice cream kiosk, a farm experience, and multiple well-organized educational programs for children and adults.
