This was an excellent cottage in a very quiet location and having our own pool was perfect.
The hosts were great and on site, provided everything you needed (including a nice bottle of Prosecco) - But left us enough space to enjoy our holiday.
I would definitely recommend this for a quiet, peaceful getaway and an opportunity to explore the Peak District, as the location is perfect for either walking or driving around.
I am sure we will be returning !!

Cottage was lovely and owners were great at ensuring we had all the info required. Our long weekend was perfect. Only comment we would make was if the check out time could be a little later. Overall we would definitely visit again and would recommend to friends and family.

A delightful cottage. Roomy, clean and well appointed. En suite and separate shower room. Private and lovely views from the back. Front shares a drive with the main house (which is not visible from the sitting area at the back) and access to the separate swimming pool building. The pool is excellent with a good length for swimming, and with an attached jacuzzi. Overall an excellent base for relaxing and exploring the Derbyshire countryside.

We had a lovely stay here. It was spotless, well equipped and the host Ray was friendly and helpful with any requests. Thank you for the milk too, it was much appreciated! We loved the private swimming pool, this is a great feature to have after exploring the local area. We hope to come back again next year!

A lovely cottage in a great location and so handy for the hike up Thorpe Cloud and to Dove Holes. Peaceful in the evenings watching the light changing over Thorpe Cloud. And the pool is brilliant. If only the weather hadn't let us down.

I stayed for 4 nights in this beautiful cottage. The area is just stunning. Cottage is outstanding and the owners could not have been nicer. The pictures of the pool area really do not do it justice! I cannot recommend this cottage enough. I am already planning my nice visit!

Lovely, large cottage and private swimming pool. Everything was great, from cleanliness to kitchen tools available and comfortable beds. We even used the fireplace for a cozy evening. The swimming pool is huge, and it has a jacuzzi part - perfection!

The cottage was lovely and warm and has all the little extras you don’t always get, such as boxes of tissues, tin foil, kitchen roll etc. The pool was spotless and so warm. Garden and view was beautiful. We could easily walk to Thorpe Cloud and the nearest pub. Would definitely stay here again.

The cottage was even better than expected, and was warm, comfortable, very well equipped, and spotlessly clean. Set in a quiet, and peaceful location, with views of the surrounding countryside. The swimming pool was definitely an added bonus, and was much bigger than it looks on the photos. We really enjoyed our stay, and didn't want to leave.

What a little gem of a property, my husband and I found ourselves daydreaming about winning the lottery and living in this cottage for the rest of our days!
We were so lucky with the weather, the setting is beautiful. The cottage was clean and very warm and cosy - I will say from the pictures I thought it may be a little cold, but it definitely wasnt! Also cute flowers on our arrival and an anniversary card! So thoughtful.
The pool area was immaculate and the pictures do not do it justice, the size is perfect and my glasses steamed up just walking through the doors!
The bed was super comfy and I have now actually purchased the same bedding!
All in all a perfect trip that will not be forgotten, thank you so much 😊

The cottage was really quaint and everything in it was of excellent quality
The owner was available if required but did not interfere in our break.
The pool and hot-tub were a real luxury, amazingly clean and very private.
As for the location, wow, stunning views, really quiet and surrounded by beautiful walk opportunities.
This is a perfect getaway from life’s hustles, a place to completely recharge your batteries.

A well-equipped warm and comfortable cottage with some very thoughtful touches. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub just across the path - which were private and surprisingly large. The cottage was brilliantly situated for Dovedale and Ilam Park in the immediate vicinity - and the rest of the Peak District to the North and North West. Larger towns such as Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton are a shortish drive on good roads.
Hosts were welcoming - we had a much needed few days in a lovely place.

This is the perfect break whether it be with friends or a partner, it’s the ultimate reset. The pictures don’t do the pool justice as it’s huge! The property was immaculate and owners were on hand to help with anything we needed!

This was our second visit to this beautiful cottage, as soon as you walk in you feel at home everything you need is there for you, and the sole use of the pool and jacuzzi is a bonus we will be back again.

Property was/is perfect. Location is exactly what we wanted in terms of being away from Town, close to walks, but close enough to Town!
Swimming Pool is better than pictures!
We would live here if we could

Excellent location. online showed two beds this was changed to one double. My daughter slept on the sofa bed and had to sleep sideways due to unevenness. The sofa bed needs to be upgraded. My favourite was the hot tub

We absolutely loved every minute of our time at the cottage. The swimming pool was a fantastic addition and there is not a cottage in the area offering this luxury. Made very welcome. The area is gorgeous and Haddon Hall, Thornbridge, Ashbourne town all lovely places to visit. We’ve already booked for next year. Thank you for having us Julie & Roy, we look forward to our next visit.🙂

A beautiful location with some great walks immediately out of the door. The Cottage was fantastic, clean and well equipped and larger than I expected. The Pool was a huge hit with the children who would have stayed in there all day! The Pool was also bigger than expected based on the photos. We had a fantastic time!

This is our second time here at Cloud View, we enjoyed it so much last year we had to come again. The cottage and all its surroundings are beautiful. It's such a nice place to stay, it's great for walkers and also for people who just want a bit of peace and quiet. The pool is a gem, and it's such a bonus to have it included with this idyllic little cottage, what more could you ask for? The owners are lovely, friendly, and welcoming, and the complimentary bottle of Prosecco waiting for you in the fridge is a great little bonus. Overall we had a great stay, and we will be returning again next year.

Beautiful lodge, clean, stunning views of Thorpe Cloud hill. The evenings are quiet and cosy. The pool is located in a building next to the lodge. It is so special to have a pool and jacuzzi to yourself (and much needed after a day walking the Peak District). The pool was warm, includes a private shower, toilet and dressing area. Chatsworth House is half an hour drive- it was incredible. We walked up Thorpe Cloud- stunning views at the top. We walked to Milldale along the Dovedale trail- stunning sights along the way. We also picked up the Tissington old steam way trail from the village to Ashbourne, again, beautiful views along the way. Perfect hosts, we received a warm welcome. Would most definitely recommend.

We stayed at the cottage for 4 nights but wished we had stayed a little longer!
Location: It is perfectly located for walks to Dovedale (stepping stones) and Thorpe Cloud (spectacular views on a sunny day). We also visited neighbouring Ilam Park, Tissington and slightly further afield to Matlock Baths (Heights of Abraham) and Bakewell.
Facilities: The cottage had plenty of space for a family of four (two in the bedroom and two on the sofa bed). The kitchen was well equipped for a self-catered holiday. The gardens were beautiful and clearly well maintained. It was nice to sit out and enjoy the nature (pheasants, bunnies and birds). The pool was lovely, and it was a real bonus to use the changing area and showers which are part of the set up.
Hosts: Ray and Julie were perfect hosts; friendly and approachable and made us feel very welcome. We appreciated the extra gestures of leaving us some milk for our tea/coffee on arrival and a bottle of Prosecco to help us celebrate. Great communication prior to our arrival and during the course of our stay.
We will definitely be returning!

Amazing property with the added bonus of that fabulous pool and Jacuzzi. Ray and Julie are welcoming as well as friendly and kindly left us an anniversary card and fizz. The garden was so lovely,I miss it already, watching the bees and listening to the birds. The sounds of countryside relaxing. So many walks to try out and places to visit. We had a Sunday Roast at The Green Man in Ashbourne which, even on the hottest day of the year, was very good.My husband would recommend the roast lamb sandwich. We walked from the cottage to Ashbourne via the Tissington trail, picked up near the Old Dog pub, perhaps do this on a cooler day though. We topped off the holiday with dinner at Callow Hall which was amazing and well worth the visit but you will need to book well in advance. I can't think of anything negative to say at all and we hope to be back again, maybe see the property and area in a different season, would love to get the log burner going . Thank you so much.

We had a four night stay at Thorpe Cloud view cottage. The cottage was perfect for a romantic holiday for a couple. It was in a great location for walking, the views were just beautiful, and the hosts were lovely. We used the pool every evening, such a treat! We will definitely book it again, probably for longer.
