About this house rental
Tucked away in a peaceful location on the edge of town, but still only few minutes' walk from the bustling, picturesque quay and heart of the town, is this lovely secret Norfolk hideaway.
Aptly named by the owners as their relaxing coastal retreat, this brick and flint modern detached house greets you with a lovely air of calm as you walk in the door. Decorated in a low key seaside style, with comfort foremost in mind, The Haven is an ideal all year round getaway. A well-equipped house with three bedrooms (two doubles and a twin) and two bathrooms (one is on the ground floor), it has a spacious dining kitchen with adjoining utility room. The delightful sitting room has year round appeal, with an efficient electric stove to supplement the heating on cooler days and nights and french doors, that lead out into the walled, private south facing landscaped garden, to open on warm sunny days.
Wells-next-the-Sea is a hub for North Norfolk coastal activities. From the picturesque harbour you can either take the mile long walk or the short car journey to the most spectacular of beaches, framed by scented pinewoods and colourful beach huts. The town is blessed with some fine Georgian architecture, especially around the beautiful Buttlands green at the top of the town where you can enjoy good food at both The Crown and The Globe. The busy main street is packed full of independent shops and cafes, as well as a greengrocer, butcher, bakery and fishmonger, all selling fabulously fresh and local produce. This beautiful coastline is a top destination for birders, walkers and cyclists, and the popular activity of catching crabs and taking boat trips to see the seals. Holkham Hall is just a short drive away, where you can hire bikes for the day and cycle or stroll around its beautiful parkland.
Additional Information
Access to The Haven is via a shared, unadopted steep and gravelled driveway.

Please note, there is no starter pack (which includes tea, coffee, sugar and milk) or welcome hamper provided at this property.

Comfortable and good location
We very much enjoyed our stay at The Haven. Perfect for walking into Wells for shops, pubs etc, but tucked away in a peaceful place, with views out to the coast.
We would stay there again.

The Haven
The house was perfectly situated for us. It had a pleasant garden but the garden furniture hadn't been cleaned for ages! The beds were very comfortable, linen was lovely but the house definitely could have benefitted from a deep clean ( behind the furniture, the kitchen floor).

Haven review, family of 4 in the summer
The Haven property feels spacious, with a well equipped and easy to use kitchen and breakfast room. The showers were very powerful, especially in the main bathroom. However, the property could do with a refresh. Noticeable peeling paintwork on the exterior windows and the worn carpets.
Also a real working log burner would be a bonus rather than the electric version.

The Haven is in the ideal location however:-
Location is good however:- we did not have any wine glasses there were tumblers and long beer glasses and two martini glasses of which one was chipped. Also some of the plates were also chipped this has obviously caused by the dishwasher. We felt this is a general housekeeping fault that should be carried out regularly. Although general cleaning was carried out the cleaner clearly didn’t look at the windows especially the window next to the door in the lounge where there was dead spiders etc. We started the week with the tv remote (especially as England was playing) didn’t work and it wasn’t change of batteries so that needed to be renewed and the pop up in the sink of the downstairs toilet wasn’t working not the best start to the holiday. Please deal with the attention to detail as that makes a difference to any stay.

The Haven
The Haven is a great place to stay and is only a few minutes walk from the harbour. We enjoyed spending time in the spacious private garden but felt it would have benefitted from a tidy up before we arrived, particularly the patio area, which was badly souled with bird dirt.

Fantastic cottage that's well located for Wells
We stayed here for a week in May. it was beautifully kept, everything was clean and tidy, and all appliances / furniture / equipment was of top quality brands and in excellent condition.
We didn't want for anything as all possible things had been provided for us. We loved sitting out in the south facing garden in the sun, listening to the many birds cheeping away. it's very private and quiet.
The location is great, it's only a 5 minute walk into Wells which was ideal for us. And of course with Wells itself being central to the North Norfolk Coast, it was a great base for exploring the breadth of it.
Overall we had a wonderful stay, and would highly recommend this cottage. Thank you for helping us to have such a lovely break.

A gorgeous house in a lovely quiet location very close to the quay
I stayed in this house for one week with my husband, two young girls and parents.
It is gorgeous! Spacious, clean, wonderful showers, comfortable beds, lovely large sunny garden and a nice utility to dump all our wet towels after a day at the beach. Five minutes walk and you are at the quayside and lovely quiet location.
It was so nice to not be cluttered as well - a few choice "ornaments" and nice lamps but no clutter. The owners even provided a couple of games, kids games, kids books, loads of DVDs and a lovely fluffy floor cushion for the kids to chill on.
I would definitely recommend and hope to return. We love Wells and this part of Norfolk.
{The drive way is quite narrow and steep and we found it difficult to get up at times but I believe this is being addressed}
