About this house rental
Our waterfront home has been lovingly updated and maintained and is a perfect choice for your family vacation on Smith Mountain Lake! This waterfront home has beautiful lake and sunset views and is situated on a wide water cove off the main channel. It offers deep water for swimming from the floating and stationary dock, and the shoreline offers sandy walk in water, perfect for young children to swim or to sit on Adirondack chairs while splashing your feet in the waters edge.
The dock also offers enough space to tie up your boat. If you are looking to rent a boat during your stay, our home is conveniently located new the Halesford Bridge area which offers several marina and rental options. In addition, if you wish to trailer your own boat, their is a boat ramp within our community for your convenience to launch and the house offers ample space in the driveway and side street for your trailer in addition to multiple vehicle parking.
The dock area also offers a waterside fire pit with a shaded sitting area for all day relaxation and mini-frig for afternoon beverages. The yard has plenty of trees so there is always small branches and sticks on the ground to gather to help build your campfire, and we also keep a small supply of firewood nearby .
For your entertainment, there are two kayaks, a paddle boat and two paddle boards provided for lots of lake fun!! We also have available a variety of adult size life jackets for your use, but be sure to pack life jackets for your children as all sizes are not available. There is also an electric air pump to assist you in blowing up your favorite floats.
The house is situated on a corner lot with a large front yard for family yard games, and we have a corn hole game for hours of fun. Also we are conveniently located only minutes by land or water to Bridgewater Plaza and area amenities, for shopping, dining, arcade and mini- golf. Nearby, there are also golf courses, wineries, historical sites and the Blue Ridge Parkway to explore.
The main level of the house offers a newly renovated kitchen and dining area with seating for eight. The main Living Room offers hardwood floors, a cathedral ceiling, fire place and patio doors out to lakeside deck for outside dining and sunset views. The master suite offers a queen bed, private bath with dual sinks and private lakeside deck as well. The main floor also has two additional bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with a double bed) and second bath. The lower level provides the third bath and fourth sleeping area and family room combination. This offers a queen size and a double size bed, along with family room furnishings and area for games and second fireplace. All together, the sleeps comfortable 8-10 guests.
There are DVD’s, PlayStation, Game Cube and super Nintendo with many games to play. There is also board games, puzzles for indoor competitive fun or to relax. The family room also has patio doors leading out to a lakeside covered patio with a Weber gas grill, and plenty of seating for relaxation and dining outside.
Finally, One of my favorite things to do on vacation is cook for my family and friends, so with that in mind, the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, casserole dishes, electric griddle, mixer, crock pot, kitchen aid, toaster, coffee maker and multiple cooking utensils, Nice dish ware, flatware, wine glasses, etc. Everything you need to prepare and serve your favorite meals.

The property was well maintained and well stocked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. TV’s in all but one of the bedrooms, which was very nice. Downstairs area had 2 beds and bathroom and is perfect area for children to sleep or separate space for a couple with one or two younger children to be able to sleep in same space with parents. Would definitely recommend this property.

This house was perfect for my friends and I to get together to celebrate one’s marriage! We enjoyed the deep water to jump of the dock as well as the kayaks and paddle boards. The house was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the various decks as well.

Beautiful house and property. Very clean with lots of cleaning and toiletry supplies. There were four adults and five kids in our group and it was so nice that the linens were included. I must say there are a lot of steps down to the lake, but it’s worth it! The lake area is very nicely done, the cove is quiet, and swimming off the dock was loads of fun! I would highly recommend this house for a family vacation. It would also be great for adults only.

We stayed here with three teens and we all had a blast. Great isolated little cove with deep water as described and yet close to marinas, restaurants, rentals, and more. Hosts were great as was the condition of everything and the amenities provided.

My family really enjoyed our time together during this vacation. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It even had an air fryer which wasn’t listed on the description. The decks were wonderful, with plenty of seating. It even had a shaded deck. The greatest part was the lake set up. Great dock, sitting areas, fire pit, and a shallow entry for our grandkids, who are 2 and 4. The only bad part was there are over a 100 steps from the house to the dock. Yes we counted them! Just consider this when booking this home if you have anyone with ambulatory issues. The hosts were really nice and answered all of our questions quickly. I contacted them because we couldn’t find the electric air pump. Apparently it had been taken or hidden. They ordered one and we had it the next day. Now that really is above and beyond what they had to do for us. We absolutely loved this rental!!! Thank you so much to the hosts for sharing their home with us.

We were 8 adults celebrating our daughter's college graduation. The space was perfect for our needs with enough supplies and space for all. We spent one day hiking at SML State Park and the next day swimming/sunning by the lake. The fire pit, porch deck, nice area restaurants and a large table for games rounded out our trip. This was the second year in a row we stayed at this house. We returned because the house is clean and comfortable with great access to the lake. It's a lot of stairs down and up, but the dock area is awesome and we love the kayaks and stand-up paddle boards that they have there. The kids practice fishing and love jumping off the dock.

Fine for in-shape people, or those with steady gait but our elderly guest could not manage the 88 steps, we adjusted by driving him 15 min to the public marina where he could get on the boat .. so be aware if you have elderly or disabled people. Other than that a perfect stay and beautiful location! Would definitely return and recommend!

We stayed at the property for one week at the end of June. For the first five days we were alone, and after that we had kids and grandkids visiting for a few days. The kids (ages 4 and 7) had a great time playing in the water while the adults were on-lookers. Everyone was very pleased with the place and the location was perfect for the extended family.

This house is beautiful and is located in a cozy and quiet neighborhood. The house was very clean and accommodating for all of us. The kitchen has everything you'll need from grill tools to cookware to spices for cooking! The dock is a great place to spend the day. The little "beach" area was perfect for our kids to play. The cove is secluded from the hustle and bustle of boats and jet skis passing by. It is a great place for just floating around! I really enjoyed observing nature while sipping my coffee on the deck in the mornings. Jackie was very accommodating and responsive to my messages. If you are looking for a place to get away and relax but still feel like you are home, this is the place you'll want to stay! This property was perfect for our family. We had four small families, and everyone was very pleased. It was so clean; the kitchen was very well equipped for any type of cooking. We loved the linens being included too. We apent most of our time at the dock swimming, using the furnished kayaks/paddleboards,or boating. Perfect vacay!

We had a very pleasant stay. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the living room is comfortable. The lake is partially visible from the back windows of the house, and from the multiple outdoor decks. Keep in mind there are many steps to get down to the lake, but for us this was great exercise. We had lots of fun taking out the 2 kayaks and 2 stand-up paddle boards. The owners were very responsive to my questions. I highly recommend staying here!
