This is one of the most beautiful settings one could imagine. Easy access to the Greek Theater, UCB, restaurant ghetto, and best of all, Tilden Park. That blew me away most. I just couldn’t pull myself away from the view.

Susie was a wonderful host! She responded very quickly and was very accommodating to our needs. The place was absolutely clean and stylish with stunning views of the bay and San Francisco from the Living Room and from the outdoor deck in the trees. Parking was provided and on site washer and dryer was incredibly convenient. I definitely recommend the place if you’re looking for some thing with character, amazing walking, and peace and quiet free of city noises.

Great location, views and helpful hosts
Close to campus, served our purpose of staying close to Berkeley campus for our son's summer workshop. In addition to that we enjoyed the great views of bay and San Francisco from balcony as well as from inside. Hosts are very helpful and understanding. They gave us lot of info about the area and picked up groceries for us several times. The only small problem is the bathroom sink is too small and old, the bathroom floor is old and no exhaust fan.
Overall it is a very good and pleasant stay.

Heaven with a view in the Berkeley Hills!
Perfect 1 BR accommodation in a classic Berkeley home. Complete privacy with easy access to hosts. We stayed for two months when we first moved to the East Bay, and never tired of the view, the apartment or the surroundings. For a long or short stay, nothing could be more ideal in Berekeley.

Lovely Historic Home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tolman house. The kitchen and bath are tiny, but well equipped. The bed was comfortable. The living area and deck are beautiful. It was fun to walk out on the deck each morning and gauge the weather by how far across the bay one could see. It's
a gorgeous view over the Bay Bridge. The online photos don't do justice to that view! With a son in a 3-year post-doc here, we expect to be back several more times.
Thanks for a lovely stay!

Enjoyable two week visit
This studio apt is well located in the Berkeley hills north of the UC Berkeley campus,a short (12 minute) walk to the northern end of campus and 10-15 minute walk downhill to the 'gourmet ghetto' area (15+ minutes return uphill). The setting is lovely with a large deck with superb views across the bay, superb sunsets and a gorgeous garden below in the lower level. The apartment is clean and well furnished. Owners Greg and Susie are very helpful when assistance is needed. I would not hesitate to stay again on a future visit.

Home Away From Home - With a Spectacular View!
If you want to get a feeling for life in the Berkeley Hills, this is the place. The view of the Bay Bridge and San Francisco (from the living room, bedroom, and huge deck) is amazing. The apartment is in a beautiful old house from the 1920s. The private bathroom is small but perfectly adequate, and there is also a larger bath with tub next to the laundry room if you need it. The hill to the top of Cedar Street is quite steep, so we were glad we had a car, but it's not far to the university or the shops and restaurants on Shattuck Ave, so Uber or Lyft would be an easy option, too. Susi and Greg were extremely friendly and always easy to reach, even when we managed to lock ourselves out one night. It's extremely quiet except for the occasional sound of a distant train: very romantic! As someone else here noted, you should know that there are about 10 steps down to the apartment, but if that's not a problem for you, I can't think of a nicer place. We wanted to just move in and stay forever. Highly recommended!

Peaceful, stunningly beautiful and perfectly located!
This place is amazingly peaceulf, beautiful and perfectly located. The bed is plush and comfy, kitchen well equipped and deck and garden are breathtaking. Susie was adorable, responsive, delightful, hands-off and available if we needed anything. I would stay again and will be sending all of my friends and family who visit me in the bay, her way!

The place was nice and perfect for the 4 of us. Great views of SF. We had a guest for one night and still plenty of room and no extra charge. Easy walk to UC but a major uphill trek from Bart and gourmet ghetto. We ended up walking downhill to Bart and then ubering back up the hill which worked fine. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful rental property it would be five star if the mattress and bedding were upgraded as well as the attached bathroom the shared bathroom was really awkward to use because it look like the family was using it Overwhelmingly a very positive experience

Great view in the Berkeley hills
My husband, 5-yr-old son, and I stayed here for a week in January. We love the Berkeley hills, and this historic house was just what we were looking for. The owner Susan was very friendly and easy to work with. The bedroom and main room have a great view of the bay. We spent a lot of time playing games at the main table with window seat that looks out on the bay. Also, the private deck surrounded by Redwood trees seemed like it would be lovely for evening meals when the weather is nice. We had cool, rainy weather though, and loved having the gas fireplace which really warmed up the main room. A couple drawbacks to be aware of are the on-street parking, which has a 2-hour limit, and noise from footsteps in the main house, which is directly above this unit. Susan told us that the parking limit isn't enforced often, and indeed we parked our car there all week with no problem. The footstep creaks are part and parcel of an older home and weren't a problem for us. For activities, we enjoyed walking up hill to the Lawrence Hall of Science, playing awhile and then taking the bus back down and also walking to Cordonices Park via the Tamalpais Path. All in all, a great stay, and we would definitely stay here again!

Great location, unbeatable view
This is a small apartment and seems to be one of several within the same private home. We stayed for a week, over Thanksgiving, and managed to cook a thanksgiving meal in the small but functional kitchen. The apartment has a proper separate bedroom (small) and living room. Both have beautiful views on the Bay, where you can watch the sunsets. There is also a terrace but we didn't use it as it was too cold when we stayed there. The living room was very cozy with a gas fireplace and when that wasn't on, there is central heating which works very efficiently in the winter. The location is perfect if visiting the University as it is only a few blocks walk.

Great location and lovely owners!
We stayed here for 3 nights while dropping our freshman off at Berkeley. Great location. Walking distance to campus, restaurants (the Cheese Board!!), groceries, and coffee houses. The apartment is well-equipped and very comfortable. Phenomenal view and porch. Owners are very helpful with tips for what to do in area and welcomed us with some breakfast treats and snacks. Will definitely be staying here again.
