We chose Moonshine as our "hang out point" because it has a great living and dining area that easily accommodated our group of 9. (Most wanted their own rooms, so we rented a nearby spot for extra bedrooms.) Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare full meals. Easy walk or drive into the heart of Hope. We LOVED it! Will likely send friends and be back for another stay!

Great location and great recommendations for local hikes. We fished out of Soldotna and Seward. Caught and released 60 + salmon right in town

This house was wonderful! Very clean and stocked with anything you think you may need. The host was very informative and helpful.
The little town of Hope was cute and quiet during the week. Friday night we went to a local cafe for live music and wine. We hiked Hope Point and just enjoyed the area. Seward was close enough to drive to for the day. I was very pleased with my stay at this property and would highly recommend it.

Beautiful Cabin, Resourceful Host
My family and I enjoyed our quick retreat to this cozy, comfortably cabin in Hope. Our host gave us plenty of tips on how to maximize our stay in this quaint little town. We enjoyed the museum, coffee shops and even ended our stay with some live music down by the water. We would gladly recommend to family and friends to stay here.

My brother and sister in law come to Anchorage to visit us every two years and our favorite place to go is Hope, Alaska for fishing and spending time with family. This year we stayed at Moonshine Cabin and had an incredible time fishing and playing games and having a fire. My three grandchildren came and my daughter and we had ample room for everyone. We had everything we needed for a three day vacation. Tom was great.
He called before we checked in, stopped over to see if we had any questions and checked with us before we left. He made it very easy for us and we hope to stay there again in two years and maybe stay there ourselves in the near future. I definitely would say its a 5 star cabin.

Beautiful Setting!
My family and I spent a week at this lovely home in the quaint town of Hope, AK. The inside was very spacious and tastefully done with everything we needed. We were so comfortable in this home away from home, it was difficult to leave. Tom was so gracious and welcoming and communicated his availability with anything we might need during our stay. We will definitely repeat our visit at another time. Thanks Tom!

Beautiful Cabin in the Amazing little town of Hope
We had a great time at Toms cabin! He was a wonderful host! The cabin was on a private setting in a great little Alaskan town. This was a perfect home base for our first time exploring the great state of Alaska.

Cabin that's very tastefully designed
One of the best vacation homes we have stayed in. Privately located in woods, tastefully designed, kids friendly, lot of board games to play, ample room for people to sleep comfortably.
Tom is a great host, he was very prompt in answering all our questions. Thank you Tom for being an amazing host. We plan to visit Alaska again in winter and we would love to come back again.

Charming well appointed cabin! More than we anticipated! Privacy and so clean!
We so loved Moonshine cabin! From the moment we entered we were so pleased! Beautifully appointed, all you need, comfortable beds and lovely kitchen! I could move in and stay! Hope is a lovely little town. Many things to see and do. If you like history, stop in at the museum. Many trails for walking. Short trip to portage to view glaciers! You will not be disappointed!

Tom's cabin is lovely. The layout is great and includes thoughtful details. The cabin is cozy, yet spacious. Multiple bathrooms is a huge plus! Everything was clean and there were thoughtful amenities like cozy blankets, a reading chair, an outdoor hammock and all the kitchen supplies we needed. Hope is a fantastic town with lots of outdoor opportunities, a lovely museum, and the best fish and chips you'll ever have at the SeaView Cafe.

Wonderful Cabin in a Special little town
We a wonderful time at the moonshine cabin. The house is super easy to find, very clean, and has everything you need. Tom is super nice and so easy to work with. He always texted me back within minutes. We only had a family of 4 but the cabin could fit a lot more people so we had a lot space.
We really enjoyed waking up and walking about half a mile, to the little local coffee shop. Hope is such a cool town. We were all over Alaska during our trip, but little town of Hope is something that is just really special.

We had an amazing vacation on the Kenai Peninsula in Late June, staying at the Moonshine Cabin. The cabin is truly great, even better than the photos. Everything you need is there. Beds are comfortable, temperature is easily controlled perfectly with the heater (it was about 60 outside during the day, cold at night), kitchen is great, laundry is great, my 10 year olds loved the bunk beds. Fire pit was a great part, as was the hammock. Tom was very nice and when I told him I was headed to the Russian for sockeye, he provided me with one of his coolers for my fish. Hope is a beautiful place, very quaint and quiet, and very far from the closest large grocery store, so make a list and get all your supplies in Anchorage on your way down, or you'll have to drive to Soldotna, about 1.5 hours away. They do have a couple of small local stores for some essentials, but they are expensive and limited. Resurrection creek runs through town and you can get some Dolly Varden action there on the fly, along with Pink Salmon in the second week of July. We did multiple missions to Cooper Landing, Soldotna, and Seward on different days, ranging from 45 min to 1.5 hrs--all incredibly beautiful drives. Homer is 3 hours. Can't say enough about the cabin, though. Really suited us to a tee--truly beautiful, clean, comfortable, away from it all. A great resting place and jumping off spot for the rest of the Kenai. Thanks, Tom!

We stayed at 3 different VRBOs on our trip to Alaska, and this was hands down our family favorite! It was well stocked, and we like to eat in so it was especially great having a kitchen that had everything we needed (and then some). The layout of the house was perfect; cozy, but spacious.
We had 3 generations (tweens, parents, and grandparents) on this trip, and everyone was very comfortable and happy in this house. One of the rooms was open to the rest of the house (no door), but with the amazing room-darkening window treatments it was a non-issue.
My kids loved the bunk room, and enjoyed doing plays from the balcony of the bedroom with doors that open up to the main floor, and we all enjoyed having camp fires and exploring the nearby hiking trails. An unexpected perk was the well-stocked book shelf; I brought my own reading material but ended up getting drawn into one of the books at the house that I couldn't put down. The hammock was also a fun place to relax after hiking and exploring.
In addition to the property itself, Tom went above and beyond to welcome us and help us get oriented. We really enjoyed our stay, and everyone agreed that if we make it back to Alaska as a family, this was a place we'd love to stay at again :)

We had a great stay with our family of 6. The property is beautiful and the cabin is fantastic- our kids were huge fans of the bunk beds! We had a bit of a snow storm (10+ inches!) on the night we arrived and lost power the next morning for a few hours. Tom took excellent care of us, getting us set up with a generator, fresh water and updates on when to expect the power to come back on.
Tom took my husband for a tour of Hope and pointed out some things we might enjoy on our stay. You can tell that Tom has a genuine love for Hope, the Moonshine Cabin, and the guests that come to visit! We'll definitely be back this summer!
