About this cottage rental
Welcome to Wentworth Cottage!
When crossing over the world famous Cribstone Bridge onto Bailey Island, look to your right. Can you see that cute little white house with the giant blue lobster on the garage? That's Wentworth Cottage! Built in the 1900's this freshly renovated home is the perfect spot for any couple looking for a romantic getaway or a little family looking for some fun and excitement.
With most of the living space on one level, it is great for anyone who may have a hard time going up and down stairs. The bright kitchen has a nice breakfast/coffee bar with a Keurig coffee maker, blender, toaster, microwave, and a brand new refrigerator and stove. A nice living room with fantastic views of the cove and the Cribstone Bridge allows you to take in the ocean while still inside the cottage. The primary bedroom which has a great nautical theme is located on the main floor and is equipped with a queen size bed. As you make your way up the stairs you will find a loft area with two full size beds.
The beauty of Wentworth is that not only is it located on a beach but it is also within walking distance to two wonderful restaurants, Cook's Lobster and Ale House and Sundrenched. Or feeling like walking a little bit further? Just up and over the Cribstone Bridge to the left you will find the wonderful Salt Cod Cafe where they serve breakfast and lunch. Or feel like exploring the islands? H20 Outfitters, next door to the Salt Cod Cafe, offers kayak rentals and tours all at your convenience.

Really enjoyed the location, good walks, swam, kayaked, walked to local restaurants. Will definitely come back. Loved the layout of the house, good flow from room to room.
Funky settees in the dining room instead of real chairs - that really is the only thing I would change. Also, picture showed a propane grill and what is there is a charcoal grill, so we decided to grill in the oven instead. Too much time and hassle with charcoal.

Comfortable and scenic
We really enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect for us. The cottage is well equipped and you can’t beat the view from the living room. Being early in the season, there weren’t many people on the island and we brought extra blankets (knowing you could also get some from the rental managers). The managers are very responsive and check in and check out instructions were clear and easy.

Great cottage.
Cute cottage , great location. Very relaxing trip. The place is well equipped with all necessities . Short walk to 2 restaurants. Both very good. Outdoor chairs , picnic tables and fire pit. Keep in mind this is very “rustic” old cottage. No ac but all new windows , so great breeze and air flow. Our only issue was the cleanliness of the house, which as concerning. It is an old home so some issues are expected but this was basic cleaning. Ie cobwebs, food under couch , closets stacked with extra pillows on the floor, yuck . We did let them know , but not a great response. Just an —
We’re sorry this was your experience and a very slight adjustment to the bill considering the high cleaning fee , linen fee , among other fees.
Overall would probably stay there again based on location and overall property features , despite the cleaning as I’m Sure that will be addressed.

Cute beach house
The house was old but charmingly updated with great character and decor. We couldn't have been closer to the beach. Great views of bailey's Island bridge, boaters and cooks restaurant. Very close to the salt cod Cafe and the Candy co for ice cream. Great spot to relax or explore.

Great location but need to work out some glitches
This cottage is very cozy and in a great location. We got there at night and were not given a code for getting into the house ahead of time. Luckily the property manager responded fairly quickly so we weren't locked out long. There were issues with the smoke alarms batteries which were complicated because it was connected to a nest that we weren't able to resolve. People should bring extra blanks as the house doesn't have sufficient blankets for how cold it gets. But the location outweighed any of those issues. Overall we were enjoyed our stay.

Great location, perfect cottage
This rental was just perfect for our family. The kids are still young enough to enjoy sharing a bedroom, and my husband and I enjoyed being able to watch a movie while they slept upstairs.
The cottage is tastefully decorated in a minimalist way that made it feel open and brings and inviting. There were books, movies a few games and even some toys for very young children inside of the house. A giant yard outside provided ample space for ladderball or kicking around a soccer ball (both which could be found in the shed). We also enjoyed taking out the kayaks and exploring the cove.
The location was fantastic. Having the ocean right outside gave my kids hours of shell hunting, crab catching and even a little swimming, while I pulled up an Adirondack chair to read a book. It was also great to be a quick walk to several restaurants.

Idyllic Vacationland experience
Such an amazing experience. Loved the location- Wentworth cottage is in protected Garrison Cove with a beach our little's could play at safely between Cooks lobster pound and restaurant and Salt Cod Cafe overlooking the Cribstone bridge. We could kayak in the morning to breakfast and walk to dinner! The cottage is absolutely vacationland idyllic and does not feel as tourist trap as Kennebunkport or Ogunquit. It didn't bother us but, the cottage is not very private being right next to a public boat launch and beach. We often had pedestrians right in front of the large picture window sightseeing. We will be back next year for sure!

Cottage Perfection
We loved our stay! The cottage is decorated in a minimalist style, with the perfect amount of Maine/lobster touches. The location was great for sunrises and sunsets! We used the kayaks to explore the cove and paddle under the crib stone bridge. Our family of two adults, two tweens and one dog were very comfortable in this two bedroom cottage. The upstairs loft is great for older kids. We ate at Cooks Lobster House four times during our stay. The island is beautiful - everywhere you look is a postcard image.

What a Setting!
This is a perfect place for a coastal Maine experience. My wife and I used to kayak Harpswell on a regular basis years ago and it was great to return to one of our favorite paddling spots. Excellent water access to Garrison Cove is right in front of the cottage. Having a cup of coffee early one morning with a front seat view of the cove and working docks as lobstermen prepare their boats and motor out for the day - what a setting!

Wonderful for lovers of water sports and seafood!
Great location and had everything you need but no clutter :-) We loved the kayaks and beach toys and picnic table as well as the proximity to cooks and morse's cribstone grill takeout! We hope to be back soon. :-)

Perfect Location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wentworth Cottage! The location was perfect for exploring Bailey and Orr Islands! The house itself was clean and had many many extras that I wasn’t expecting. It was stocked with dish soap, hand soap, garbage bags, dish towels, fire pit, outside chairs, yard games...it was perfect. We could walk to dinner to both Cooks and Morse’s! The beds were comfortable, the sheets and towels provided were nice quality. The view from the cottage was gorgeous. The refrigerator had an ice maker which was very helpful. It was tastefully updated but kept its cottage feel. The upstairs was roomier than expected. One regret is we didn’t kayak, we ran out of time!! They also provided bicycles which was appreciated. Overall I would highly recommend this house especially for those who enjoy the outside!!

Perfect little house for a quiet getaway!
We had fantastic time at the Wentworth house! It is a small 2 bedroom house located right on the water. Walking distance to Cook's Lobster House and Morse's Cribstone Grill. There is no heat, but the provided space heaters were more than enough to keep us toasty. The supplied kayaks were an awesome treat, especially since the home is right on the water. This is the perfect quiet location for a couple or small family to enjoy everything the Maine coast has to offer!

Lovely, Perfect Retreat from Everything
Wentworth is a comfortable, cozy house, just the right size and equipped with everything that we needed. The location, walking distance from Cook's restaurant, is a real bonus. And Bailey's Island is within an easy drive to Portland, Brunswick and Bath. A terrific getaway...
