5th time at this property. Excellent in all ways as always.

The apartment was everything it claimed to be on the VRBO website - beautiful location; beautiful view; great French village - we thoroughly loved our stay.
4.9
The property was lovely and the location was perfect. Easy walking to groceries and libations as well as restaurants. The terrace made the stay. Morning coffee and evening drinks with local wine cheese and sausages. Beach was just a short walk away.
And the welcoming flowers and wine ser the stage for a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful vacation and could not have chosen a more perfect place to stay. The apartment is exactly as shown and even perhaps better as you can not capture the beauty of the view and the balcony on pictures. Have no worries, you will find everything you need and more. It was also very nice and welcoming to have Heidi greet us in person. The town of Villefranche-sur-Mer is charming and so unique. Everything you need is at short walking distance. Including a great beach! I would go back in a heartbeat. Take the time to go on the website of the town of Villefranche-sur-Mer to learn about current events; outdoor movie by the water was quite spectacular! And you will also find info on parking; there is a one week pass for visitors available for 25 Euros and you can park anywhere where there are city meters, which includes street parking a a couple of parking lot. It was perfect!

Such a wonderful place and host. Views from patio are as if we were in a fairytale! Great communication and responsiveness from host through the stay, even through unplanned little hiccups that’s came our way. Would for sure stay again when we come back to the south of France! Thank you!

Great location and Hede met us to explain parking and features of the apartment. Lovely apartment with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. There was an issue with the air con when we arrived but Eamon and Hede sorted it out to ensure we had a confortable stay. We would not hesitate to book this lovely apartment again should we ever return to the Riviera.

This is a really nice apartment in a great location. Close to town (and the bakery!). Communications and check-in were really easy. The apartment has everything you need.

My husband and I loved our stay in Villefranche at this property! It was everything I was looking for in a centrally located property. The highlight was the large balcony with an expansive view of the water and the village.
This location was close to bus and train transport. Only minutes away from dining and the water.
We will return to this property again! I highly recommend it.

It was everything we’d hoped for and more. Heidi our host was amazing , super friendly and helpful. She even gave recommendations on shopping and a great haircut. Thank you Heidi for making our first visit to Villefranche-sur-Mer so great!

Our family of 2&2 children (10&4) spent 10 days here and enjoyed every minute. The accommodation has everything you need, from being spacious, a spectacular view, enough utensils & cutlery and was very clean & comfortable.
It was a great location to base ourselves, so we could fully explore Villefranche suir Mer and surrounding towns like Monaco, Eze, Menton, Cap Ferrat & Nice. The bus stop is 3 mins walk away and the train station approx 10 mins downhill.
Highly recommend for a couple or family

The apartment has everything you need (you’ll have to buy toiletpaper etc. yourself though); view to the bay is simply magnificent.

And any other descriptive word to say that we loved staying here. We had 8- wonderful days in Eamon's Villefranche-sur-Mer apartment and it was a fantastic place to stay. Unfortunately we were there when France and Europe were experiencing Extreme Heat Warnings but coming home to an air-conditioned apartment definitely helped us to deal with the heat. I highly recommend this apartment for any stay in VSM! Note: There is a parking lot at the top of the hill on the main road that we were able to park in 90% of the time. For emergencies and short-term parking there is a lot just 1-minute walk from the apartment.

A friend and I rented this condo for a month while studying French at the Institut de Francais and it was perfect for us. First, the condo itself is very comfortable. The beds in both rooms are great. Both bathrooms are a nice size. The very best thing, though, is the view from the deck. It is nothing short of fabulous. We spent every bit of time we could on that deck. The condo also has a wonderful location close to the modern town but also a very easy walk to the vieille ville. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. In fact, I hope to.

Apartment with wonderful view in Villefranche-sur-mer
We loved our stay in this very well equipped and comfortable apartment on the edge of the old fishing village of Villefranche- sur -mer. Perhaps the best feature of the apartment itself was the terrace with outstanding views of the old town and harbour looking cross to Cap Ferrat, and where we breakfasted and spent many hours late in the day.. The location was great with a short walk through steep lanes and steps to the waterfront. We enjoyed many excellent dinners both in the old town and waterfront and also frequented the patisseries and small supermarkets within easy walking distance.
The location proved to be a great stepping stone to exploring the area. The no. 100 bus was close by and took us east along a beautiful coastal route through Cap Ferrat and Monte Carlo to Menton , and in the westward direction to Nice-we had fun exploring the Vielle Ville and large market there. On our only wet day we visited the spectacular Chagall museum in Nice and also the Matisse museum [a bit disappointing]. We also highly recommend visiting Eze set high on top of the hills behind the Riviera; the medieval village itself was somewhat overrun with tourists crowding the narrow, and steep lanes. However the Jardin Exotique at the peak of the hill at the site of the ruined chateau offered stunning views of the whole coastline and had a wonderful collection of cacti and other desert plants with a Mediterranean garden on the cooler north side. A little complicated to get there by bus or train, so we used Uber which was quite inexpensive.
Finally I should mention that the apartment was well stocked with guide books and very helpful info provided by Eamon and Eileen. Heidi , the local manager, was welcoming and readily available for questions. And thank you Eamon for the bottle of rose which we enjoyed on the terrace and for the beautiful bunch of sunflowers-they both epitomise the essence of the Riviera!

A stunning view and a glass of wine
Thank you, Eamon, for a lovely apartment to stay in. From the complimentary wine to the stunning view of the bay from the terrace, everything combined to make a relaxing holiday. The apartment is welcoming , well- equipped and spacious without being too big. The small square below has a cafe, pharmacy and excellent boulangerie, with a supermarket nearby and a lovely walk through atmospheric streets down to the seafront, or rail station. Heidi was welcoming and helpful at check- in, and easy to contact if needed. There is some unavoidable traffic noise at the front, but easily screened out, and we liked being away from the main throng but within easy reach. We would love to return.

A very special place
We stayed at this apartment in Villefranche for 5 days in August. What an amazing choice.
The apartment was everything we expected and more. The location is absolutely perfect, we loved sitting on the terrace looking out at the bay and watching boats sail in every morning, and having a glass of wine watching the sunsets every night. The view is second to none.
There are a lot of steps at a steep incline into the old town, but we enjoyed the exercise. There are numerous bakeries and stores just a few minutes walk and we ate at some great sea front restaurants in town just 5-10 minutes walk from the apartment.
The beach was just 10-15 minutes walk and is great for lazy beach days, it was busy but never too crowded even though we were there in the height of summer.
We loved getting the train to nearby places such as Monaco, it was fast and easy and the station is just a short walk from the apartment.
We had an amazing evening out at the Rothschild villa (at the recommendation of Heidi) which I would definitely suggest you do if you are there during the summer weeks when the villa is open in the evenings. Heidi the manager was great, very informative and stayed in contact with us before our stay. She made checking in and out easy and stress free .
The weather was hot when we were there but the AC in the apartment kept us cool.
Villefranche will always have a special place in my heart after this vacation, since my boyfriend proposed in the beautiful town.
A very special vacation for all of us and we would definitely return and stay at Eamons apartment again.

Beautiful Apartment
Overlooking the bay watching the cruise boats arriving was so enjoyable. The apartment is very well appointed and a convenient location for heading into town.
We had an excellent week and were very comfortable.

Perfect place at a perfect location
My family, that is my husband, teenage daughter and I, enjoyed our stay at "Eclat de Couleur" very much. The location in Villefranche was excellent because not only is Villefranche a lovely town, but we were in Nice or Monaco in no time. Public transportation was close by, convenient, and affordable, and, therefore, the best choice for us.
The balcony of the apartment was wonderful with a spectacular view over the Mediterranean. We sat outside a lot, enjoyed our breakfast in peace and quiet, and were fascinated by the huge cruise ships that came in every other day.
The rooms were fine, the beds really comfortable and the AC let us sleep at night. Other than the coffee maker, we didn't use the kitchen much. We picked up fresh food every morning, and ate out every night in the close by cozy old town area. One of the managers of the apartment had arranged for us to get picked up from Nice airport and explained to us how everything in the apartment worked. Having a ride to the apartment and going over a few things at the place was very helpful and much appreciated. Again, we loved the place and would certainly come back and stay there again.

Lovely location
This is a wonderful property. The view of the Mediterranean is world class. The location is convenient to the old town, shopping and public transportation. It is fully equipped and comfortable. We hope to visit again!

Exceptionelle!
Together with two friends, a couple, I thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Villefranche and the apartment was just perfect for us. Plenty of space inside and the added "room" of the balcony was exceptional. The location is second to none, with easy access to the beautiful walks of Cap Ferrat, the trains running along the coast east and west, and of course to downtown Nice. We enjoyed evenings barbequeing on the spacious balcony, overlooking the water and Villefranche. The apartment was well appointed, clean and comfortable. I am already looking forward to another visit next year (-:

Home from home - but with better views!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very comfortable apartment, which was perfect for our family group of four adults. We took advantage of the recommended taxi pick-up from Nice, which was competitively priced and trouble-free since the driver knew exactly where to go and liaised with the local agent, Sue, over our arrival time. We found the property to be extremely comfortable and well-appointed. The highlight of our stay was spending our evenings on that balcony with a bottle - or two - enjoying that magnificent view across the bay of Villefranche. We never bothered to cook in the evenings as there are so many restaurants in the town to choose from and to suit every budget. The apartment is conveniently located within 5 minutes of the bus stops, handy for the 100 bus into Nice or Monaco - very regular service and only 1.5 Euros! No need for a car here! The train station is a little further away, downhill on the way there, but a fairly steep walk back up! The price to be paid in Villefranche for the panoramic views is the hills! Not suitable for the unfit or the infirm but otherwise highly recommended. The wine and flowers on arrival are a lovely touch, and the owners are very easy and straightforward to deal with. Thank you, Eamon and Eileen!

Stunning View
My family and I had a lovely time in the French Riviera. Having stayed in Villefranche Sur Mer as a base for 5 days was a wise choice of location. Loved the quaint old town feel with neighborhood butcher, market, and bakery (loved the fresh baguette and croissants in the mornings). There are restaurants and shops galore along the walk to the harbor.
We explored the nearby towns of Eze, Monaco, Nice, St Tropez. Wished we could have stayed a couple more days to visit Cap St Jean Ferrat, Antibes, and Cannes. Gives us a reason to return for more.
Staying at Eclat de Coloeur was perfect for our family of 4. The apartment was clean and had the basic amenities. The balcony with a fully retracting sliding doors, gives the living area extra space to enjoy a most stunning view of the bay.
Sue, the apartment manager, was very welcoming and helpful. She had a bottle of Rose for us to enjoy when we arrived and fresh flowers to brighten the room. The taxi service with Nicolas was also an added welcome service. Convenience was well thought of. Thank you Eamon and Eileen (the apartment owners).

Perfectly situated apartment in Villefranche
Bright and airy, well-equipped apartment with excellent views of the Bay of Villefranche. Very convenient to walk anywhere in the village.
This is an excellent location for cycling inland. I would recommend La Roue Libre in Nice for hire of a bicycle. They have an excellent range of bikes to hire. There are some great climbs up into the hills behind Nice, Monte Carlo and Monaco. Once you have climbed to La Turbie (about an hour) there are good climbs up to Peille, Saint Agnes, Gorbio and many other small villages with fabulous views.

Amazing view!
We enjoyed our recent stay at Eclat de Couleur -- the view off the terrace was gorgeous, and the apartment very clean, well equipped and comfortable.

Wonderful Holiday
We had a wonderful stay in Eclat de Couleur. The apartment had everything we needed and was extremely well place for the local bus route along the coast. It was also brilliantly near all the shops, restaurants, train station and beaches. The winning feature was the wonderful terrace with the most exquisite view. We do hope we can return one day.

Great location and fantastic views!
First time at the Cote Azure and I think we hit an ideal spot to explore and enjoy the whole area. We enjoyed being able to walk to dinner, lots' of good choices. Got our baguettes and croissants from the bakery near by in the morning. There are other small shops, grocery and butcher that covered all our needs. We also enjoyed wonderful evenings on the terrace like balcony (having a pizza from around the restaurant around the corner or our own cooking), sipping wine, playing cards overlooking town and Cap Ferrat in perfectly comfortable climate. Parking can be frustrating esp. with a large car but once we had a spot we used the bus many days and with a weekly parking sticker for Euro 15 we were able to use a parking lot not far up the road. We will come back if we don't get too old climbing the steep streets and stairs of the area...and we will rent the smallest car we can find. The owner was very helpful in every way.

Second Time Around Just as Wonderful as First Time
A couple of years ago my husband and I stayed in the one bedroom apartment, La Belle Epoque. We loved it and said we would be back. Unfortunately due to illnesses we couldn't get back till this past June. We were celebrating my husbands' life so we took 3 Grandkids and their parents to Italy on a tour and then to Villfranche to relax. Because we were seven we needed La Belle Epoque (the one bedroom) and Eclat de Couleur (the two bedroom) which were side by side apartments. Actually the only 2 apartments on the 2nd floor. From beginning to end the experience was wonderful. Eamon McCullogh, the owner was so responsive. He remembered us for the first time which made me feel good. But whether he did or not, he couldn't have treated us better. Our lease came timely, payment thought paypal was easy, he notified his manager (Susan Miller) of our arrival. She then sent an email requesting our arrival info so she could get us an English speaking driver from the Nice Airport. She met us on arrival and showed us how to use everything in both apartments. Each apartment is different. The one bedroom is decorated in more of a european style while the 2 bedroom is more modern in decor. The beds in both apartments were extremely comfortable. Both apartments were spotless. The location is terrific. You can walk to everything, the bus stop (pay 1.50 Euro to go anywhere), the train station is a 5 minute walk in town and you can go to Monaco, or the other direction and hit all of the Cote d'Azure! You don't need to bring many clothes since everything is so casual and there is a washing machine in each apartment. We usually ate breakfast in.. my husband would go to the local produce guy for fresh eggs, then the butcher for bacon, and the pastry shop for baguettes and croissants. There is nothing more you need. We would go to the beach during the day or go see the sights and then mostly bar b q on the lanai for dinner. The view from the apartment is unbelievable. You can stare at it for ever!!! I don't know what else to say except you need to go and see it for yourself. Thank you to Eamon and Susan for a wonderful trip!

The Perfect Location to Enjoy The Côte D'Azur
We returned again this year to this lovely apartment in Villefranche. The location is ideal for exploring the Côte D'Azur. The apartment is clean and well appointed. The terrace has breathtaking views of the Bay of Villefranche and is the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. The area is quiet and close to everything, including the tourism office, the market and patisserie. We will be back.
