About this house rental
Located right on the sand in Sodus Point this 6-bedroom, 3 full bath home offers easy access to everything you love about vacationing here; Sodus Bay, marinas, parks, playgrounds, ice cream stands, restaurants, Lake Ontario, the beach, fishing pier and lighthouses are just steps from the home.
The home sleeps 14 guests in beds in the bedrooms plus 2 more guests on the queen sleeper sofa in the great room. 2 bedrooms offer queen beds, 2 bedrooms have double beds, another has 2 twin beds and the last has a twin over double bunk set plus another twin bed. All bedrooms have ceiling fans, 5 with AC. The home has a spacious deck with great view of the beach and includes ample tables, chairs (will seat 16 dining out here) and a gas grill.
Inside there is a large great room, large dining area (seats 16) and large working fireplace, all wonderful for spending time with friends and family. Additional amenities include: 65" smart screen TV in great room with extra smart TVs in 3 of the bedrooms, full cable TV package, 5G Wi-Fi, air-conditioning (some window units from June 1 to September 30 - note that 1 bedroom does not have an AC so the full house is not air-conditioned), heat for those cool nights, hair dryers in all bathrooms, plenty of outlets and charging ports throughout the home for phones, laptops and such, games and puzzles. The kitchen has been fully remodeled to include all expanded cabinets, granite counters, stainless appliances (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and built-in microwave oven), Keurig coffee maker (12-cup style and k-cup style), and it is well-stocked with dishes, utensils and so much more. There is a 1st floor laundry washer/dryer set as well as a 2nd full-sized refrigerator conveniently built-in to the corner of the dining room perfect to stock the extra drinks.
The paved driveway fits 5 average sized cars plus weather permitting (i.e. no snow) you can park 2 more vehicles in the front yard and there is room for a small boat trailer or small SUV in the side yard. Additionally the public County lot is just 1/10th mile away for additional vehicles (trailer parking however, is forbidden in the County lot).
Just one block down the beach is the county park with life-guarded beach, lakefront playground, volleyball nets, a seasonal snack shop, and the fishing pier. There you'll also find a smaller beach on the bay (warmer water and minimal waves).
A short walk into the Village is where you’ll find the restaurants, bars, ice cream stands, another playground, skate park, basketball court, softball diamond (we love to have multi-generational kickball games here) and marinas offering boat slip and boat rentals as well as another business renting bikes, kayaks and canoes. Additionally, the Village includes a historical lighthouse & museum (free summer Sunday concerts there on the lawn), charter fishing boats, gift shop, churches, and convenience market.
An Electric Vehicle charging station is located in the Willow Park Parking lot (opposite the convenience store) and just a short walk from our rental homes.
NO SMOKING / NO PETS.
Travelers are required to provide their own bed sheets, pillow cases, towels, paper & soap products, and any other items to complete their vacation stay as well as departure cleaning unless otherwise arranged prior.
CHECK OUT THE MID WEEK DISCOUNTS DURING SPRING, FALL AND WINTER.
Just short drives away you’ll find nearby amenities including the beautiful Sodus Bay Heights Golf Course, wineries, Chimney Bluffs State Park (a must see if you've never been there before), farm stands and so much more.
PLEASE, NO HOUSE PARTIES, PROM PARTIES, WEDDINGS, TENTS OR CAMPING TRAILERS/VEHICLES PERMITTED ON THE COTTAGE PROPERTY.

16 of us spent 3 days here and it was perfect. The size of the house, the location, and the communication with the property owner was top notch. It was everything we expected and more.

Had a great stay, place was clean as expected. They delivered everything we expected. The only observation was the out door space. It was not usable due to rain and insects. Request to add covers on BBQ and seating area benches. Else really enjoyed every moments of out stay. Very close to waters less than 3 mins walk. Will definitely recommend this place. Thanks a lot Ted.

We had 9 people stay- it was wonderful! Great hiking, walking around town, hanging and swimming on the beach and of course watching the eclipse!

Plenty of seating room in dining room and living room. Bedrooms have a quaint cottagey feel. Great spot to see sunsets on lake, just a short walk from rental.

Group of 6 ladies on the Lake Ontario Wine Trail. Location was perfect - right on the lake. We each had our own bedroom which was a plus. Lovely house with recent updates. Would rent again.

House was located in perfect area, also playgrounds, restaurants and ice cream shops were within walking distance.
Something for everyone.
Wish we could do this yearly

This rental is in a great location. The beach is great and the management is very responsive. That said it is very "campy". We were happy that it was clean and there wasn't any discernable mold but it is very much like camping. We were instructed to bring all our own sheets and toiletries which we did but it was a hassle. We are big cooks and the kitchen was very much lacking. We also had the big Canadian fires blow in (which wasn't anyone's fault) but without central air, we chose to leave a day early. The rental did meet our needs of staying close to family and the location is quite good. The windows, screens and outdoor patio could use a lot of TLC but the housekeeping staff did a good job.
4.7
The house itself was nice and the location was great for our needs. It was comfortable, clean and well stocked.
The owner was responsive.
The late check in (5:00 pm) was the worst thing about this rental and a real pain. I Requested a normal check in time of 3 and was told no. Bringing sheets and towels was a little odd too.
I would recommend this house as long as you are ok with the check in time and supplying towels and sheets.

Very comfortable, lots of space and well stocked kitchen! An extra frig and sink in the main living area was a bonus-def a place we hope to visit again!

Perfect location, beautiful beach, short walk to town. Shirt drive to Chimney Bluffs, a do not miss.
Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We traveled from as far as Georgia to Vermont to this house for our niece's wedding. There were 12 staying at the house for various lengths of time. But we gathered at least 20. Most of us haven't seen each other since COVID began. It was great hanging out of the deck in view of the beach. A great time was had by all.

If you are looking for perfect rental property itself, you may be a little disappointed.
You can not use the coffee maker and microwave at same time because the circuit breaker may trip. The plumbing system is inadequate, especially for the 16 people this property can house; across the three bathrooms and the kitchen, you can only use one water source (faucet, shower, toilet, etc.) at a time. You may find cobwebs in the corners here and there. The window AC unit in the living room trips breaker - you may have to use an extension cord to plug it into the other electrical outlet. Deck door knob does not work as it should.
Although cleaning services could improve, we realize that given challenging times we are living in, it may be hard to keep things running smooth.
However, if you are looking for the perfect place to make wonderful memories and see breathtaking sunsets, if you are looking for a place to relax your body and mind, if you are looking for beach walks and beautiful sunrises, this is the place to be. The beach view from the living room and upstairs bedroom is absolutely amazing - pictures just don't do it justice.
In despite of some imperfections, i would give this cottage six out of five stars for the overall experience and would definitely return.
Check in and check out process was simple and management was friendly.

Delightful winter week
Stayed with a group for a week. We enjoyed sitting by the fire, eating meals together and attending an online workshop together. Wifi worked well. Fireplace was excellent. It was surprisingly delightful to walk along the frozen, snowy beach in the winter time. The house was clean and in good order. No issues. Everything went smoothly and propertly manager was easier to reach. Would definitely do this again.

Our family had a lovely time on this property! We really enjoyed the beautiful sunsets, beach access, and close walk to the playground. These sunsets were more beautiful than the ones we’ve seen in the Caribbean and in Florida! 10/10 would recommend this home and beautiful town again!

We had a nice stay, and though the weather was a little bit too cold for "beaching it", I can imagine how hopping the area is when it's more mid-summer weather. Definitely a big enough place for family type vacations, and a fun area to walk around in town or at the pier, etc. I do want to make any other potential renters of this location aware of a few things, however. Though it does say bring your own blankets, pillow cases, and paper products, etc., you would assume there would be the basics, like paper towels in the kitchen, dish soap, enough toilet paper, etc. There was not any of this, and the blankets are extremely thin. Also, as mentioned here a few times by other reviews, the grill is in extreme need of being replaced, and a wire brush is not the answer...it's rotted out, so the gas does not flow through the tubes, etc. We planned to grill a lot and pretty much found it useless. My advise to anyone wanting to rent this location is to read the reviews, and come prepared. My advice to the renter is that the grill absolutely needs to be replaced.

Perfect Beach Vacation
The location of this property was perfect. Close to the beach, close to the pier for fishing, and easy walking distance to restaurants. We also walked to the historic lighthouse. The house has lots of space to sit outside and enjoy the breeze and is spacious inside to visit and eat. The kitchen was more than fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Internet and TVs all worked great. We had a problem with the grill and a gentleman came to fix it. The grill could use an upgrade. But my family and I would rent this house again in a heartbeat and we hope that we can do it again next year. Perfect vacation.

Was great to be able to have all the kids under one roof again. We had a great time. Nice and spacious, beds were not comfortable. I thought the size of the beds would be ok, if that was the only issue. But they were not comfortable at all. The remodeling of the house next door blocked views that were already limited. Grill on the deck was not taken care of rust on the grates, maybe we were first of the season. We had a good time and this was my first experience with Vrbo.

This rental house is perfect for a large group. The spacious living room with the fireplace gave us plenty of space to socialize and hold discussions as a group while maintaining a sense of coziness. I love how practical the house is set up with 3 coffee makers, 2 fridges, 3 bathrooms, and 2 large tables for dining. Parking was a little bit of an issue as we had a large group and in the winter you can't park on the sand/snow. Thankfully, the municipal parking lot is just around the corner.
