About this apartment rental
This flat is uniquely located in close proximity to all Berkeley activities. It is just 4 blocks from the world renowned University of California at Berkeley, within walking distance of the 'Gourmet Ghetto' where restaurants such as Chez Panisse, Cezar, The Cheese Board, Gregoire, and many others, are located.
The flat is well appointed, with a full, recently renovated kitchen, high ceilings, gracious rooms, and a relaxing atmosphere. We have had many guests from around the world - researchers, vacationers, artists, actors, and business people.
If you decide to stay awhile and need to travel around the Bay Area, a BART train station is also within a few blocks walking distance. This will get you across the bay to San Francisco and most other points within the Bay Area. There is one off street parking spot for a car if you choose to bring one.
We do our best to make everyone's stay comfortable and pleasant.

Perfect location! Very cozy and spacious apartment, quite and close to everything you want to be close to in Berkeley. Well maintained for being an older building, very fun decor and architecture. Full kitchen, your very own laundry, small office and great living room. If I am ever back in town, I will be looking to stay here again.

Spacious old house furnished with everything you could possibly need, great location and a very accommodating host. We enjoyed our stay here. Overall very good experience. We’d extended our stay if it’s not already booked by other people.
Tip: We could hear the footsteps etc. from upstairs pretty clearly, so you might want to book the unit upstairs if you are sensitive to noise.

We had a great stay at Hillary's apartment in downtown Berkeley. My family of four was here while we worked through a home renovation for about 2 1/2 months. We thought it would be cramped for us but it was actually pretty spacious and has a good layout. The location is excellent and really fun. Walkable to just about anything you would want, tons of food, music venues, bookstores, cafes, etc. Considering how busy the area is, the apartment is on a pretty quiet street.
Hillary is very responsive and helpful. We were there for a while so small things would come up like trash bins and she always answered our questions quickly. As an example, the kitchen faucet stopped working one evening. Hillary had a new one installed by the next morning.
All in all a really good time for us.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 weeks, coming from Australia to visit family. This property was roomy, well equipped and in a very good location with on site parking. It met all our needs and it was easy to contact manager when necessary. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying in this very comfortable apartment. Everything is as advertised - and more. The bed and furniture were comfortable. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was well set-up. Parking was so easy. The neighborhood is great for walking. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. We look forward to staying here again.

Excellent location and place was much as described by previous visitors - good size kitchen, comfortable bedroom, etc. Could use a slightly larger TV, but that's a very small issue.

My wife, three month old baby, dog, and I had a great two month stay while I attended a research program in the Berkeley hills. The location is very convenient to downtown, a dog park, the gourmet ghetto, and campus -- plenty to do without getting in a car! Plus great hiking a 10 minute drive away on the Berkeley fire trails, and even more if you're willing to drive 15-20 minutes.
The space was very pleasant and roomy. A great kitchen with lots of counter and cabinet space, a spacious living room with plenty of room to set up a play station for an infant or toddler, and a big bedroom (with enough extra space that we were able to set up a larger glider chair that we brought for nursing), plus a small office with a little couch that provided some nice privacy for our mother-in-law when she came to visit for a week to help out with the baby. There is a small paved outdoor space and yard landscaped with beautiful flowering bushes and trees. The owners are very responsive and quickly addressed any issues; for example, the sink sprung a minor leak during our first week, and within a day Hilary's handyman had assessed the problem and installed a new faucet to fix it.

I recently spent a month at this flat.
It was advertised as a one bedroom, and that is what the photographs indicate. So imagine my delight when I found an additional room! It is small, but it contains a pull out couch and a desk. Since I was on a working vacation, the desk was such a pleasant surprise. I was able to "set up shop" without having papers piled on the kitchen table.
The rest of the flat was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, and we actually cooked our Christmas dinner in it.
It was great having Trader Joe's 2 blocks away. I joined the nearby YMCA for a month; that was only a few blocks away. The one time I had any issue, it was with the heat, and Hillary was immediately responsive to my call. It was resolved quickly.
(The only caution I offer is that I was in the "downstairs flat" and the couple in the flat above me woke early, as they were traveling nurses, and the normal shuffling of their preparations for the day tended to awaken me before I would have liked.)
It was a positive experience, and I would return again.

We stayed in this flat for 15 weeks this summer while my husband interned in Oakland. The apartment is bigger than the pics make it seem, so it was perfect for us and our 15 month old son. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, cookware, everything we needed to make our home for the summer. The location was perfect, walk to BART, walk to restaurants on University & Shattuck, several great parks nearby for kids, Trader Joe's was literally around the corner. We could not have had a better experience and Hillary was great as well. We didn't have any problems, but she gave us information on local kids activities and answered any questions we had! We have since relocated to Berkeley permanently and luckily found a long term apartment in the same area. Highly recommend this flat and working with Hillary!!
