First I want to say WOW. I have stayed at many VRBO units over the years. We select an annual site for our Family reunion late in the fall for the next year. We do a lot of research before we make the final selection. We have to select a house big enough for 6 families and children. I have rarely been disappointed and usually my choices are all close to a perfect match. I can usually judge if the unit is good as soon as I walk in the door. This unit was as close to perfect as you can get. When you walk into the unit, you see that big wall of glass with the balcony looking down on the lake behind- PERFECT. I do not think I even unpacked. I grabbed a glass of wine and sat on the balcony - Just looking at the view. A bathroom in every bedroom also made everyone happy. You could not make it any better. Then add the pool, the lake, the Kayaks and paddleboards. Even the children were happy. To top it off Pigeon Forge was very close. NOTE: At our Family reunions we like to eat together. I am always surprised that a house that can sleep 16 has a dining table for only 10. A minor negative.

This home was just beautiful. There are 12 of us ranging in age from 2 to 65. The golf cart made our trips to the lake and pool easy. The villas on the property were being used as well with folks from Ohio and TX and we all share the dock and pool just fine and we met new friends. Our only negative was that the activities for the kids were further away than the milage leads you to believe because of the winding 2-lane roads. All in all this was a great vacation! Our 10th year of celebrating our summers together.

Everything about this was wonderful!!

Our family loved everything about this property, even the great workout up and down the hill! Great hosts and so much fun! We rented the pontoon for the week which was super nice. Lots of space for all of us too! Thanks so much! Highly recommend!
4.8
The view of Douglas Lake is beautiful. With lake access, dock, a pontoon boat available to rent and kayaks and standing boards to use (we used them all) the family had a blast.
The lodge was clean and spacious with a layout that allowed larger gatherings and supported private time. Every bedroom had a private bath. Josh was made himself available to answer questions and supported our stay. The kitchen was not fully equipped for cooking so bring even the basic spices if planning to eat in. They do have dishes, glasses and silverware, knives and pots. The outside gas grill was great! Lovely pool, hot tub, and fire pit on site. Great place to decompress and connect with family, friends and nature.
4.8
The house is amazing; beautiful wood pretty much everywhere; large reception room with a lovely wood burner; huge kitchen and dining area; comfortable bedrooms with ample linens and towels; topped by a terrific view over Douglas Lake. The management services led by Josh were super responsive and helpful. The only recommendation was that kitchen utensils a and crockery could be updated and added to -
we bought (and left) 15 glasses but some more plates, veggie peelers, colanders/sieves, and oven trays would be helpful for catering for large groups as ours was.
4.8
It was as advertised.

Great reunion for our families in vacation setting after missing it for a few years. Plan to again make a vacation time an annual event for us again.

House was large and had features as advertised. Spectacular view. Pool was great. Josh was very responsive and great to deal with.
Hill down to the pool and lake is very steep. Get a golf cart if possible.

This log home is spacious and perfectly situated on a hill above the Douglas Lake. The view is spectacular! We loved the layout of the main floor. The kitchen and dining area were spacious for our large family, which included six small to elementary-aged children. The bedrooms were roomy, and the closets in the 2 upstairs bedrooms were so large that they actually could double as bedrooms for babies/small kids. The walk down the hill to the pool and dock was short & a little steep but good exercise. Douglas Lake was a treasure with surprisingly sparse boat traffic. Smoky Mountain Villas provided kayaks, paddle boards, and life jackets on the docket. Our grandkids had a ball using those and just jumping off the dock.
Josh was extremely helpful in answering our many questions, getting us connected with boat rental places, and directing us to the proper sites for obtaining fishing licenses.
We loved the private and quiet location and would definitely return to this amazing property. My only suggestion would be to update some of the cookware and kitchen utensils.

Amazing!
Our family of 15 all enjoyed our stay! There was something for everyone to do. We enjoyed the lake, pool and amazing views. We rented a boat from a local marina and spent a lot of time on the lake. I highly recommend renting the golf cart to get down to the pool and dock! Our stay was great and we plan to go back!!

We had 13 people ranging in age from 2-70.
Pros- the house was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful view of the lake. The beds were very comfortable and we liked that we could paddle board, kayak, and swim at the lake. The property manager lent us fishing poles and a tackle box so the kids could fish. The pool was awesome. Plenty of chairs for everyone and the water was warm. They have a nice fire pit and provide firewood. Only one of the other villas was rented so we had the place almost to ourselves. We saw a lot of deer to/ from the house. We went to Dollywood which was about 40 minutes away and a lot of fun. The lake was very peaceful with minimal boaters
Cons: we traveled with some older people and they would never have been able to get to the pool or lake without the golf cart. I feel it should go with the property rental and not separate. (The hill to the pool and lake is extremely steep!) You also need to bring your own beach towels (which we were not aware of). The house comes with just basic ammenities- one/ two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 2 trash bags etc. I have stayed at other rentals that have you the essentials for the week. There was a lot of debris in the lake. Not sure if this is typical. We rented a boat for the kids to go tubing and it was nerve wracking with all the tree branches and some trash in the lake. The house is also pretty isolated- the closest food store/ Walmart was 20 minutes away. A 5pm check- in is also pretty late.
If you are looking for a beautiful house and quality time with the family, it would be a great spot. We had a great time

I admit I was confused about “the lodge”. I thought website was showing the villas. However, it was the best surprise ever. Only criticism would be that there was not a golf cart available for a family member who could not negotiate the steep hills. We did manage fine with our car. We had a great time and would absolutely consider returning.

Beautiful home on Douglas Lake. We had the lake to ourselves and it was enormous! The infinity pool was amazing! We chose to rent the golf cart and boat/tube from the owners and was a great decision! We had plenty of room and enjoyed sitting on the back deck and doing smores at the firepit! Hidden gem!

This cabin was nothing shy of breathtaking. I rented it for a weekend for a low-key bachelorette party and it could not have been more idyllic. The views from every bedroom are stunning, especially the second-floor suites. The kitchen and first-floor living space are spacious and wonderful, and it is unique to find a rental with a bathroom for every bedroom AND a half bath! The infinity pool and hot tub are a short walk from the lodge and worth every step with the gorgeous backdrop of the lake and the mountains. Having the dock right at the foot of the property could not have been more perfect and it was relaxing to get away on the kayaks, paddleboards, and boat. I would highly recommend this rental for any family or friend gathering. Not an hour went by when someone wasn't commenting on how gorgeous the view and/or property was. People are STILL talking about how perfect the weekend was and I'm sure they will be for days and months to come! 10/10 Recommend!!!

This house is amazing with spectacular views of Douglas Lake from all windows. Josh was very prompt answering our
questions & requests. He was very accomodating and willing to help out in any way. We had plenty of room to accommodate our group. The path leading from this house to the Infinity Pool does have a bit of an incline. The 1.2 miles leading from the public road to this home has well-maintained gravel. However, the "apron" around this home is concrete. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. The house was close to major area attractions. I would highly recommend this property. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay.

Beautiful home, great location! Very accommodating for three families with teens. The owner Josh is on top of answering any questions. The lake and the views are definitely the reason we would come back.

From the time I booked this cabin for our family (12 of us but only 11 got to come) Josh, was so courteous, friendly, answered any and all questions. Then when we arrived Josh assured me that he was there for us for anything we might need and he really was. Just a phone call away and he answered them all promptly and handled any questions or problems that arose. There was a lot of snow and then rain but we really enjoyed getting away and just having family time together. The floor plan was perfect for our family and the cabin was beautiful and well maintained. Our whole family agreed that this was truly a great get a way and this vacation was one to be remembered for a long time. The Josey family
