Really well equipped, lots of nice things provided in the kitchen (wine, butter, jam, croissants). Location was excellent, beds very comfy.
I don't think we'd realised in advance that this was on four floors, and the safety of the stairs was questionable - open sided down into the kitchen, with uneven stone steps. I appreciate the property is very old, but one of the guests was heavily pregnant so this was not ideal. The uneven floors and traffic noise took a bit of getting used to, but again it is a very old building (so no double glazing etc.).

Unique and full of character. Low ceilings and several flights of stairs which may need to be taken into consideration when booking the property.
One shower for 4 residents was manageable, however if 6 people were staying it may have caused issues.

a beautiful heritage house with character, tastefully modernised.
as with many period places, not forgiving for those over 6ft!

The property was an interesting blend of medieval architecture and modern design. This quaint old property has been tastefully decorated and is everything you'd want in a short stay. Situated on the doorstep of Stamford's centre, its only a short walk to everything the town has to offer. The property was exceptionally clean and tidy, with 3 double bedrooms and plenty of living space. The kitchen has been recently installed and the shower was excellent. The host was awesome, checking in ahead of time with plenty of information and contacting during the stay to make sure everything was as expected.

what an absolutely beautiful house. we really enjoyed staying here in this very quirky but stunning house. Everything we needed to make our stay really cosy and comfortable. The owner Sam even left us wine, nuts and croissants which was a real treat.
I realised on my way back home to Somerset that I had mislaid a rather expensive eating. Sam found it and within a couple of days had posted it back to me which was brilliant.
Nothing - just fabulous

Location fantastic. Very quirky accommodation. Very helpful host.

The house was well situated for the town and having the private parking was very helpful. It was well decorated, very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was superbly equipped. We appreciated the milk, jam, croissants and wine. Very thoughtful gesture. We liked the personal handwritten note of welcome - a nice touch.
Coming from a bungalow we found the number of stairs and their steepness challenging - but our fitness level has improved!
The main bathroom being on the top floor was a bit of a problem, but we appreciate the logistical issues in fitting modern requirements in an older property.

A vehicle parked in our parking space on the last day making it tricky to load our vehicle.

Fantastic location and historic house with lots of character. Great to stay in such an interesting house
Bathroom, no door which my family did not like, screen not tall enough as my son is over 6foot.
I couldn’t find a mirror in good enough light to put in my make up as mirror in master bedroom in bad place

Beautiful oak beamed property, decor is lovely (and so were all the Christmas decorations). Very warm and cosy. Our host left a lovely welcome pack of basics and wine which was very thoughtful. Plenty of space for 5 of us and fantastic location in centre of Stamford
Nothing we disliked, it was lovely 😊

A lovely place to stay and explore Stamford and the area. Sam the host was great and quick to answer any questions beforehand. Would definitely recommend for an adults weekend break.

exceptionally well placed for the centre of Stamford- beds were socomfy we all commented on the comfort of the house
hadn't realised there would be so many stairs- had mum of 83 with me.

Some of the stairs in this ancient property were difficult, not the owners fault. Unsuitable for older people and bad knees!
We did not mind having one bathroom as we are a family, but it could have been awkward with lesser knowns.
Lovely and cool on hot days and a great fan on the top floor.
Mind your head on the old low exposed beam in the master bedroom. Parking arrangements worked well.

What a lovely old house, very comfortable and full of interesting features. The town of Stamford is a historians dream. We highly recommend visiting.

Beautiful old house, stunning location, great facilities and our host was lovely 😍

Beautiful quirky property very nicely located and within a short walk of all amenities in Stamford.
Would have liked a bit better privacy in the upstairs bathroom.
4.5
Beautifully quirky property and very tastefully decorated in an exceptional location near lots of shops and restaurants. Plenty of space for a group trip.
We were surprised to not hear from the host until a couple of hours before check in, advance information would have been useful, particularly with regards to the fact there wasnt a dedicated parking space as listed on the site. It should also be made clearer on the property information that it is only one bathroom with a shower and then a second small toilet as the property details do not show that clearly. The bathroom does not have a door and so not necessarily suitable for groups of guests that arent that familiar with each other although the beautiful quirky nature of the property meant it became part of the charm but might not be for everyone!

Quirky little cottage with a superb location bang the middle of Stamford. Sam our host made everything simple and there was even parking which isn’t easy to find in a town centre location.
