We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Close to train lines/tourist attractions. Friendly gentleman at the front desk for check in and ease of getting into the room/check out was a delight. The traditional room was lovely and large in size, and bedding was very comfortable with a view of Mt Fuji!

Great value for the money. The room is very spacious and has a nice view of Mt. Fuji. The heater works very well in the cold weather. There is a big Selva supermarket just five or ten minutes walk away. The room is very spare, but has pretty much everything you need (although a kotatsu would be very welcome in the winter).
The shower temperature is very hard to control, swinging between scalding and freezing at the slightest turn of the handle. There are no hangers for your clothes. There is no TV, which was fine with me, but some people might miss. It’s about a 15 min. walk to the Fujisan train station and bus depot which might bother some people.
4.3
Clean and spacious. View of Fuji and close to train station
Not many opened shops nearby, streets are quiet. There is a 7-11 nearby the train station though. Bathroom area is cold during winter

From the outside this hotel looks average. We had booked it because of the Fuji view. Once we got to the room, we got a very pleasant surprise. One of the largest rooms we had in Japan. Everything very new and spotlessly clean. We slept on traditional Japanese bedding which was very comfortable. And the view of Fuji was outstanding especially at sunrise. Great coffee shop on the walk into town - one of the best we have ever had (it's on a corner). Cute little train station to travel to Fuji to and from too.
What a strange town! It was so difficult to find a place to eat and when we did they said they were "booked out", "closing", "busy". Not too sure if they are fond of tourists. But the couple of places we did find were great. I wouldn't stay in that town again (hotel was fine though).

Easy to get to, with the train station so close. Is what's on the box, a room, shower and toilet. nice staff.
It felt a bit dated. No elevator for our pram / child.

What a wonderful place! Very clean, spacious, quiet and the owner is so friendly and helpful, Arigato! Very close to the Pagoda and Lake Kawaguchi as well as to the Mt. Fuji bus- perfect gateway if you are planning to climb the mountain. Cute town, good food and nice walking area.
Everything was perfect!

The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean.
The staff/owner could smile more!

everything !
nothing to say

It was in a very convenient area near the train station and several restaurants. I could see Mount Fuji from my room which was nice! The rooms are also very spacious and comfortable.
4.3
Very clean, spacious, great view on Mt Fuji from our room and on walking distance from Chureito Pagoda.

The location - not to mention the amazing view of Mt Fuji from the room! every morning I was in awe of its beauty. The place itself is pretty big and traditional, which I loved. Staff is nice and always gave fresh towels and coffee/tea everyday. There is a lot of privacy. Train station is only a 5 minute walk, 7/11 is nearby, a very quiet beautiful town. Fuji Q and Kawaguchiko are really close by on the train, so easy to get to all those tourist spots. I will definitely come back, love this place.
Nothing to add here

The hotel was comfortable and surprisingly large. Location not too far from train station.
Gekkouji has not much stuff, better to find food early.
Train intervals too long
4.3
Great location about halfway between Mt Fuji Station and the iconic pagoda/mountain view, also just down the road from another station and a good sized 7/11. Plenty of restaurants nearby, though it's a small town so not much was open when I visited.
The room was pretty cold. The heater isn't quite strong enough for how large the room is. Since I was travelling alone I was able to use the spare blanket and blast the heater. It was a cold time of year when I visited though.
4.3
Great location: 5 min from the Gekkouji station, a 10-min walk to/from the Mt. Fuji Station (where a sightseeing bus to Oshino village and Yamanaka Lake stops), and, most importantly, a 15-min walk to the Arakurayama Sengen Park (with an iconic Chureito Pagoda which is also seen from the hotel corridor).
Nice view on the Fuji Mountain from my room.
It was very cold despite the maximum heating by an air conditioner. I slept on 2 tatamis and under 2 blankets.
Woolen socks and sweater saved me from freezing outside the main room (where the shower, toilet and corridor with a washplace are located).
4.3
Basically an apartment - massive room, big shower, heated toilet, air-con, fridge and a beautiful view of Mt.Fuji right outside the window. The host was very kind as well.
Located right next to a taxi company, various restaurants and only 5 minutes from the nearest train station and a 7-11. 15 minutes from Chuureito and about 30 minutes walk from Fujisengen.
An absolute delight of a stay and I hope to return at some point.
The windows had some tiny gaps, so cold seeped through it. However, the heating goes up to 32*C so it didn't matter that much.
Also, futon beds could be a dealbreaker for some.

I often stay here for New Year, every room has some view of Fuji-San so it's always a pleasure. The room is spacious & the tatami area feels good to sleep on. Everything is clean! If you've got strong legs it's not too hard to walk between various famous Fuji-San locations (shrines, sightseeing, etc.) A great stay~
The Wi-Fi in rural areas can be unreliable...
4.3
easy and free bike rental possible
4.3
It's like having a whole apartment room to yourself- the size of the room is excellent & the tatami area is very comforting. Fuji-San can be seen from all rooms & it doesn't take long to get to places of cultural interest~
Nothing about the property was amiss! But if you visit in winter prepare to be a little chilly~
4.3
It was very clean and had a partial view of My Fuji.
The heater wasn't warm enough in the middle of the night while sleeping. It was very cold in the morning.
4.3
It was reasonably priced.
Not much to do in the area.
4.3
The room was surprisingly spacious, much more like an apartment than a hotel room. What isn't listed on Booking.com is that there is a private shower which is very important to some travellers, myself included.
Access around the Fuji Five Lakes isn't far away & the gorgeous Chureito Pagoda easily accessible with a brisk walk.
Absolutely loved sleeping in the tatami area & thoroughly enjoyed staying here for New Year!
A house slightly obscured my view of Fuji-San, but that's neither here nor there~
4.3
Super spacious room. Renovated interior, clean bathroom and shower room, very warm (even though it was freezing outside).
Free parking.
Everything was perfect!
The building looks quite old, but who cares when the room is perfect.
