Very clean, good host, location is superb.
Bathroom and bedroom in distinct floors.( But is because of the tradicional way of japanese architecture).

Located just across the road from the train station this was just the perfect spot. The guesthouse is a big tatami room above the family restaurant with a shower and toilet downstairs
The futons were the comfiest we’ve had in Japan and loved the little blinds divider so we could separate the kids and adults at night, like 2 little rooms.
No cooking facilities as such but had access to hot water and a microwave.
Good hot shower and heat pump kept us warm in the cold winter days.
Great stay, highly recommend

Traditional Japanese accommodations, location was great, host was very welcoming and helpful.
I can't think of anything that I didn't like.

Very convenient location - next to the cute little Shimoyoshida train station and Cherito Pagoda. Kawaguchi-ko is touristy and built up, so Shimoyoshida gave us a more traditional experience. We hired bikes to go around the lake.

Very close to Chureito Pagoda, the hostel is clean and big.
The room is on 2nd floor, which is a little bit inconvenient since we need to pick our luggage upstairs.

We loved this accommodation in every way. The building itself breaths history, the space is magical. All the amenities were fully prepared. The staff was incredibly polite. We definitely reccommend to try their meals too since it tastes great. The overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming, it made a big mark in memories of our first Japanese trip.
There was literary nothing wrong

The location and the restaurant. Quiet place, verry good stay!

Proximity to train station. Sincerity and excellent care shown by owner. Quaint internal structure of lodging.
Cotton bedsheets would be more comfortable.

Only things: Staff were friendly. Location was good.
THE TOILET IS NOT PRIVATE!
THE TOILET IS NOT PRIVATE!
THE TOILET IS NOT PRIVATE!
Misinformation on the listing!!! In the Q&A the guesthouse said toilet is private but it. is. not! During business hours 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, you’ll have to share the toilet with ALL customers of the 1st floor restaurant.
Entrance to the shower is opposite the toilet on the 1st floor so have fun running into restaurant customers if you are a morning-showerer.
The floor felt very sticky on the first floor common area - green-colored carpets are stained and filled with dust and dirt.
Also the 2nd floor space (only for sleeping) has no lock, so your stuff is not 100% secured. The 1st floor door also feels paper thin, only a tiny lock is used.
I tried to talk to the guesthouse about it but they basically said I asked for too much with the price I paid - what a joke. With a little bit more yen, I got a super clean and chic apart hotel in downtown Tokyo. TOKYO!! Is Fujiyoshida more niche and high-end than Tokyo nowadays?
Booked for 3 nights, but fled on the 1st night. I’d rather leave than staying at this awkward place. Just left early.
I really don’t get the positive comments in reviews, as someone who cares about their own hygiene, I find this guesthouse a nightmare.
So, don’t.

close to churieto pagoda
not for a solo traveller. good for couple or family

I stayed here with my family member, seven adults and one kid who was three years old. The whole family sleeps together , and we feel very homey and comfortable. It is located on the second floor of the retail shop, walking distance to chureito pagoda, and the mt Fuji just right behind the shop. We were lucky the next morning at 6am, the mt Fuji likes right in front of us,and we managed to take a lot of photos.

The room was big and werm, the futon comfortable. The guesthouse was very near Chureito Pagoda for those who want to be there early in the morning for a clear view of Mt. Fuji. It’s right actoss Shimoyoshida station, which is very convenient.
There were no restaurants within walking distance that were open when we arrived in the early evening. We walked around 7 minutes to the Chinese restaurant nearby but it was closed earlier than advertised. Thank God there was a Lawson convenience store.

Very clean and spacious. Warm in winter and a lovely little spot. Hosts were great to communicate with even when our arrival was delayed.
Nothing- the hosts were very up front about the extra costs (towels etc).

Location. Less than 100feet from the station and the authenticity of the place. Its a traditional house, with stairs to the room, not sutaible for people with mobility issue, othewise ot was a perfect stay!

i like a location and traditional Japanese Ryokan
There was noise from the ceiling while the wind was blowing all night. make it impossible to sleep

i liked the mattresses in the sleeping rim as how it was very warm and comfortable
nothing to complain

Traditional house
Near convenient shop and famous viewing spot
Can be quite cold when going to toilet downstairs during winter because we didn’t turn on the heater in the shop. It is ok to turn it on I guess.

It was so nice to be the only family staying at the property. The use of laundry was greatly appreciated. Location was great if driving a car or taking the train.

Very close to station. Easy to check in after hours.

Big tatami room, good wifi, pretty quiet and lovely host. Had the whole place to ourselves after 5pm and before 10am. Otherwise had our room up stairs but had to share the toilet with the restaurant guests. This wasn’t a problem as we were out most of the day anyway.
Need to invest in block out curtains. Was still bright in the room due to street lights and exit sign so had to where an eye mask to sleep.
