Dog friendly and we'll definitely be going back
We thoroughly enjoyed bringing our dog to Lea Marston . This was our first hotel stay with our puppy so I had a few questions prior to arrival which were timely answered by Steph who patiently addressed each enquiry in turn. Whilst there staff made us all feel welcome every step of our stay.   We ate in Hathaways throughout.  The food was great and the provision of dog bowls and reception treats was a bonus. We will no doubt be returning.
I have absolutely no complaints but if there were areas for improvement when accomodating a canine guest it would be... 1. To eat on the hardwood floor in Bar 76 as standard for breakfast. The reason being we went into the conservatory which was fine if we could leave the doors open to go to and from the breakfast bar, but around 9am staff had to lock the door to breakfast so non guests couldn't get access making it impossible for us to get through to breakfast without knocking and hoping for staff to hear us to let us in.  Kindly the staff recognised our plight and we finished our breakfast in bar 76. 2. To be able to enjoy the spa facilities as a couple and allow the dog to be left unaccompanied for short periods as we had to relay the use of facilities which dampened our experience.

Cheap for a reason
Some aspects of the hotel looked very nice, clean and modern. Unfortunately, this was not replicated throughout.
I rang up last week before staying to book a taxi and to see if we could check in early. The women was not very friendly and gave me a taxi number which didn’t work and no early checkin was allowed. Once we got to the hotel I asked again if we could check in early so we could change for a wedding. Again this was a no but that was as expected, however, we were assured that when we arrive back after the wedding there would be a room for us waiting as it’s 24h check in. Once we arrived back to the hotel at 01:30 ish there wasn’t a room waiting for us and one had to be made up there and then. This was disappointing but wasn’t an issue until we got to the room. I know we paid a very reasonable price but the room was like stepping into a different hotel. It smelt like a smokers room. The towels smelts awful, really musty and damp. We had no hot water via the shower, only the taps. The bins were full of rubbish. And to top it off we got prank called at 2/2:30am where the person laughed down the phone. When we complained at reception we got offered a free breakfast but because it ends at 10am and we were up so late waiting for our room, we decided not to bother. I didn’t expected the food to be very good anyway based on the rest of our experience. In the morning when we left there was one member of staff on reception dealing with another guest complaining so we got sick of waiting and just left.
