Bed very comfortable, handy location and great views from building. Nice artwork on walls and helpful receptionist.
Also booking directly with the hotel qualifies you for an upgrade or a free extra hour check out, should these be available.
The smoke alarm flashing above the bed was irritating (it really was bright, often, and in your eyeline if you're lying on the bed!) The brew making facilities were in the wardrobe, as was with the second bath towel, not out already, which was odd. There was only one chair and no fridge in the (standard) room. The main issue was the snack tray on the desk, which we only found a menu for afterwards, tucked away behind. This was meant to be paid for on check out (at hotel prices), but this was not obvious and felt a little underhand. There was fairly little information about the room generally, just a limited sheet in the corner of the desk. No information in the room about breakfast or the restaurant's opening times, or the gym. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, but otherwise communication wasn't great

location was fantastic, walking distance to the hectic life of Chester city walls lovely place.
nothing, all good

The room was pleasant and in a good location, close enough to walk into the centre of town. Nice view from the room and very peaceful. The breakfast was lovely and the staff serving it were excellent.
Not all of the lights in the room worked and there was a stain on the wall, which we weren't sure what it was. It was not clear how to access the wifi. However, these things did not prevent us from enjoying our stay and I'm sure the staff would have accommodated us, had we asked for assistance.

Really comfortable room, the bar/restaurant on the 5th floor was fabulous with the balcony overlooking Chester race course 👌.
Paying for parking.
4.0
The location and breakfast.
No fridge, no plug sockets by the bed, no towel/robe hooks, open window, drawers in bedside table, separate table to vanity table, noisy extractor fan.
4.0
The location and the fact that it was modern.
There was a prom night on in the upstairs bar on our second night. Was very noisy with the music and sounded like chairs were being dragged along the floor and people stamping their feet. Took us ages to get to sleep. Perhaps they should look into better soundproofing. Also, the downstairs bar was closed due to staff tuning in sick, or so we were told. The hotel seemed very quiet so perhaps this was the reason.

Large modern building that looks OK, staff where friendly and efficient.
The hotel had closed the dining room for a party and I was not advised when booking. So big party on the floor below with the aroma of food wafting up. There is no room service available so I ordered a pizza to be delivered. The fabulous sixth floor can only be accessed by the car park lift and not the lifts in reception. The room/suite has a strange layout with a seating area only around the tv, not conducive to socialising, room lighting is recessed and dim with some lights not working, so enhancing the gloom. Long narrow balcony with uncomfortable furniture with no cushions. Bathroom has obviously not been used by its designer, blinding mirror lights supported with gloomy ceiling and accent lighting all help to assure an accident will happen when leaving the open plan bathroom down a weird step. The toilet is separate and hidden by an opaque door that works like the shadow dancing scenes of a Bond Movie intro. Tv remotes had also been switched around by cleaners and it took ages and a Hôtel technician to see what was wrong. Had to leave before breakfast so although paid for, I can’t comment on it. On checking out I was told that because of the issues with the suite I had been given a refund. But they had confused me with the suite next door who where having over half the room rate refunded. But not me!!

Lovely modern building
The only issue we had was with a bad smell in the room which gradually got worse but the on duty staff were very helpful and friendly and quickly resolved the issue by moving us to another similar room. We have now booked our next stay at the hotel in the new year

The location is central to all shops, bars and restaurants.
There was absolutely no air in the rooms, the air conditioning was shocking to the point where it was so warm in the room it was setting off my asthma. We left as soon as possible in the morning, not stopping for breakfast.
There was not enough parking available. The staff on the reception were miserable and unhelpful. They offered no suggestions of alternative parking. The hotel has a very uncomfortable feeling upon arrival.

I had to pay for the water that was out.
Breakfast was a bit underwhelming - I had a bacon sandwich.

The location of the Hotel is very good and the view from the dinner/breakfast room over towards the racecourse is a lovely bonus. The majority of the staff were very good/friendly.
For the price of the stay, I think the room could do with more furniture - it was a little sparse. It would have been nice to have a buffet breakfast option as well. Overall, it just seemed a little expensive.

Our first time staying at the Abode and it was a really great experience, made even better by the staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with enthusiasm and humor. The check-in was friendly and accommodating, the room had nice views, was clean and everything worked. The bed was extremely comfortable, one of the best we slept in.
We did not eat at the property. We will be back. 😊
Nothing to highlight.
