The hosts were so kind, caring and we had some good laughs. The breakfast was amazing. We were very comfortable and happy. We would stay again.

The property is larger than expected for the price point. We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness, breakfasts, and kindness of the owners! It is a 2-minute walk from a bus stop directly on the Nozawa Onsen bus line. You can either take the bus to Nozawa Onsen every morning for free or walk about 10 minutes. You can either sign up in the morning to use the bath in-house bath or you can choose from the many public onsens nearby. Great cost-performance hostel!
Not too much to complain. Soundproofing is not great, but better than other properties at this price point. It is a shared bathroom, but that is also expected from this type of accommodation.

The kindness of Nao-san and her family was unreal, we loved staying here and it was truly like staying with family. If you choose to have the dinner, it was incredibly delicious and I would recommend you try it at least once during your stay. Since we were there for skiing we were also very happy about the available bathtub/onsen and the well-heated drying room! Thank you so much for having us, Nao-san <3
I wouldn’t know what to criticize to be honest, everything was impeccable :)

Such a warm and loving Ryokan. The owners were absolutely lovely and helped with anything we needed. The rooms were simple but did the job and everything was very clean.

Great location and friendly staff! Drying room and small onsen were nice.
Parking situation could have been better. Sharing bathrooms is not ideal.

Breakfast was homecooked and expansive with multiple options. Hosts were quite hospitable, and there were multiple small quality of life additions like connections with ski rental and shops and transport, recommendations for activities/restaurants, and information about events.
While for the two-star minshuku price point it is pretty good, there are some tradeoffs in this class of lodging. Facilities are clean but essentially basic and there is no view or particularly unique sitting area outside of the tatami room. Walls are pretty thin, so if you get a group of loudly-speaking travelers next to you, you will hear them and I had to knock to ask them to quiet down around midnight. Location is near enough to walk relatively easily to main shopping areas and onsens in town but is definitely not in the center of the tourist streets or ski resort access.

Perfect little traditional Japanese bed and breakfast. Steps from the bus stop (to/from both Iiyama shinkansen station and the Nozawa resort gondola), basic but comfy tatami/futon room, gear drying room, towels/soap sets for the free onsen -- but the BEST part of our stay was the incredibly warm hospitality shown by the owners/proprietors. They made DELICIOUS breakfasts (including a vegetarian-friendly version) using local ingredients, and even offered us a glass of their homemade shochu after a day on the slopes. A++ authentic Nozawa Onsen hospitality.
Met/exceeded expectations.

Good and filling breakfast. friendly staff. The parking was about 50 m away
The booking was for a room with a private bathroom, but this place has not rooms with private bathrooms
