Sehr gutes Essen, freundliches Personal beim Essen.

The outdoor onsen is breathtaking, and the whole place has a very traditional atmosphere whilst also feeling fresh.

Just gorgeous in every way - a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting.
The food is wonderful.
Can’t praise the staff highly enough - everyone was super helpful, responsive and kind - really exceptional
Nothing at all!

The outdoor baths were incredible
We asked for vegetarian meals two days in advance and they brought meat to our table, saying the chef wouldn’t accomodate unless we gave them four days notice

Spacious and incredibly comfortable spaces with fabulous bath/ onsen. Welcoming staff with generally very good level of spoken English
No lift and a number of stairs ( although staff helped us at all times with our luggage). Food was generally good but horse meat not usually welcome to non Japanese. Stairs to the private onsen were steep and somewhat hard to manage in geta and would be improved by addition of a handrail

Gorgeous location and fantastic onsens. The staff went well out of their way to help us.

This is a delightful traditional Onsen hotel in the hills above Tsumago. The Onsen were great. The Kaiseki dinner was very good, in a private room, although some of the special dishes (horse meat) were a little unusual for our taste. Our room had tatami mats and futon beds, which suited us fine. The hotel has great views across the hills, and is very convenient for the Nakasendo walking trail.
There is no lift, so it was a bit of a struggle getting to our room with our suitcases.

We were welcomed at the train station and pampered throughout our stay.
The staff made an effort to communicate with us in English and it all worked fine.
The bath(s) are amazing and the atmosphere in the hotel was very pleasant and familiar.
The dinner experience was something we will long remember.

A bit pricy

Superb Rotenburo ( open-air bath) with jaccuzzi is fantastic and soothing the body. Nice mountain view and quiet environment. Total layout of hotel is designed in spacious and roomy: including Lounge (2F) and Hot Spas.
My wife prefers the western style bed room and will request it next time.

The location was relaxing and the onsen was really nice! The Japanese dinner and breakfast were really complementary to the experience.
